I spent a scary amount on my first shop of the month and we will have to top up. I am consuming ridiculous amounts of salad leaves and celery at the mo - as well as brazil nuts (a rather expensive habit) - all leading DH to believe I am growing a rabbit in my tum rather than a lil bubba :rotfl: So I have a feeling that I will be way over this month, despite upping the budget £15 on account of the growing appetite and Easter. Oh well, it is more important that my baby gets what it must need (this is my justification anyway ;) ).

We had a bad evening with DD on saturday night too, as she wanted to be in our "big bed". So after all the to-do, dinner plans went out the window and we had a late takeaway. Still, it was only £8 between us, was really very very yum, was plenty, and came out some of my leftover birthday money - so yay all round for the unplanned takeaway as it turns out :D

  • My month starts on pay day,28th.£250 target again for April for all food, toiletries and dog food for 3 adults,1 child and 2 labradors.First shop for this month on Saturday and I have spent £59.16 so far.
We dont have puddings in our house so it doesnt matter that I cant bake but I am going to try to make from scratch more bread based stuff this month so herb dumplings, pizza bases etc and see if I can get the food spend down a bit more.
Going to spend an hour now looking through the recipes on the first page for ideas, thanks for those.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi MrsM,
I am back for April with a tentative budget of £150 so I can avoid taking savings out to pay for my car service. I am not sure how likely this is, but I have at least 13 days' worth of meat for evening meals and tins of beans and the like for lunches. It is probably doable, but I won't be disappointed if I go over some.
See you all later, I'm off to get new tyres fitted and a trip to T's for hopefully, so bargains (haha).

    It's only a game

  • although my month doesn't start until wednesday, but i've done 2 internet shops that count for april (its my 1st month budgetting so not including them would leave me with a false total), one shop is with approved foods, £31.42(inc. delivery) i'd never heard of them befor this forum and am taking advantage of it before we start cooking/pureeing food for baby boy. my other shop is with mrT coming in at £73.06 (inc. delivery) before multisave deductions! hopefully this should see us through a week or two maybe longer if i get organised at using my freezer! need to buy freezer bags and mass make chilli con carne, mixed bean chilli, keema curry and ready chopped peppers and mushrooms!
  • Please put me down for £400.00 again for April Mrs M and I promise I will try harder....one month I will come in under budget.
