I've just declared for March and ruled tomorrow as an NSD, so I'm feeling quite pleased myself. My last shop of March arrived today (I started last month well-stocked so I'm doing the same this time) and I've been more organised than usual by portioning up OH's meat for the freezer, even remembering to label and date it for a change!
OH has grudgingly agreed to try Asda's own brand Weetabix (on condition I also bought the 'real' ones which were on offer!) so fingers crossed. I need to make sure he doesn't know when he's eating the cheaper ones to give it a fair go, other wise he just won'y like them regardless - it's like bargaining with a toddler some times!!:rotfl:
On the plus side, he's quite impressed that I've managed to stick to a budget, and I've drawn up a proper budget spreadsheet for the joint account at last - got to get out of overdraft city!0 -

Small spend, well on the GC anyway, of £4.87 for a few little bits we needed. Only a bit over 3 weeks (of 5) to go & plenty in.
Me & DD had optician’s appointments after school. The optician recommended that I should get some new glasses as although there is not a huge change from last time, there was a change then too & overall it would be worth it. So a couple of hundred quid there (though I get a free eye test & a small discount for a ‘complex prescription’ & a ‘free’ pair of prescription sunglasses on the 2 for 1, most of the cost is to reduce the lens thickness).
And the WM seems to be kaput. And the TV is playing up. It’s never just 1 thing is it?
DD needs her 1st pair of glasses too (though they are free) & we then had parents’ evening & her teacher didn’t have a bad thing to say. So I let her choose for dinner – MaccyDee; oh well, once in a while won’t hurt.0 -
good evening...hope everyone is well...i had a nsd today...couldnt find anything to buy in sainsburys:eek: very unusual for me....gc has got a strong hold over me
we had a funny tea...suppose to be chicken and mushroom in white sauce...i eceided to put a red pepper in it and it turned the sauce pink...so we had chicken in rose sauce...tasted ok but looked odd:rolleyes:
tomorrow we are having a chilli using 44p worth of mince i got off sainsburys meat counter...i think they sell off the last bits....its aberdeen angus lean so hopefully will be nice...ill have to pad it out a bit
i have just made some choc crispy cakes...only 4 days of packed up lunches needed and i have run out of biscuits and im determined not to buy any so will be making bits and bobs this week to put with sarnies...might make some rock buns tomorrow and some fairy cakes later in the week to keep us going
im going to try and not spend an money until april starts....it will probably go awry when i pop to m and s ...they normally sell off the meal deal stuff that hasnt sold at the weekend....um cant resist a bargain

Went to MrM after work as they sell the dog food that pooch likes best. Bought 2 weeks worth so I don't have to go back too soon. Got some great red and orange peppers, onions and also cheese (I buy that whenever I see it on offer)
I also got 2 packs of woopsied hot cross buns for 20p pack, so that will probably be breakfast and supper for the next few days.
Spent £15.08 - added to sig.0
