Just a quickie to say that I bought in Poundland the other day a pack of 3 microfibre cleaning pads. They are brilliant for removing grease and shining up the front of fridge/freezer etc. I used one wet with stardrops and one dry to polish up and it all came up beautifully. I even remembered to wash them without fabric softener to keep the drying quality good0

Hello Thrifty-Peeps
I still haven't thought of an ideal solution on how to work my GC, what with everyone paying lodge at different times & what-have-you but I'm keeping up with you all. I'm really concentrating on the NSD Challenge--there's a dedicated thread on here somewhere but I'm not tekkie enough to do those clever links
--& have found it helps me work out what I NEED as opposed to what I THINK we need
Anyhoo, I just wanted to say I found some frozen meatballs in MrT yesterday on Reduced to Clear @ 50p a throw. There's around a dozen in each bag & I bought 4 because they don't have onion in them so will be OK for a dinner or three for Pup too.
Didn't take away the  at the value [froz] sausage rolls going up 15p in less than a week--we had the last lot for a quick dinner & I was going to get another packet cuz I sometimes put a few in the oven for lunch boxes the next day [not that they often last that long ] A couple of weeks ago I almost physically fainted when I saw they had upped the price & reduced the pack size on the value fish fingers! What on earth.....do they think we won't notice???? But then, what IS the alternative
if you're not fortunate enough to have a proper variety of other places to shop at _pale_
Not sure if there is a link on the first page [Rosie?] but I've had a read of the Plate Pie thread this week. If nothing else, it just shows another way to use up bits of left-overs that wouldn't stretch into a meal on its own. I know others have made corned beef & potato, cheese & onion...pies but I never have until now. Today I intend to make up a large batch of crumbubbles--half fat to flour & rubbed in to resemble breadcrumbs--so I have some to either make a crumble or mix with a little water to whip up a bit of pastry. I find it freezes better than making it up into pastry & a lot less wasteful.
Thanks for reading, & the very best of Luck with your Challenges.

£2.13 to add today.I got some half price pears and kiwi fruit in tesco and I had to buy a bag of sugar as DD was doing some kitchen science last night and poured a can of lemonade into the big tin of sugar.
She puts sugar in to her glass of lemonade to take the bubbles away so I suppose she must have tried it in reverse. The whole lot though? So I have still to have my coffee this morning:rolleyes:"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -

Hello all - would like to join as well please - 2 adults/2kids/2dogs/1cat
April will be an odd month for me - I am going off to do a 6 month shop later this week - with a budget of £300 for the six months (store cupboard - pet food toiltetires etc) so I need to use my wits and eat out of the cupboards in April to be able afford to do my big shop.
In April will be eating out of the store cupboard and freezer and want to only buy necessary milk/fruit/veg therefore can I join the April Challenge with a target of £50 please
Waves to Mrs M and others who helped with my list on my other thread xx

Hello could I sign up again £250 for April. Not sure how realistic this is with us both being sleep deprived and masses of visitors coming to see the new baby. This is for all food, toiletries, cleaning stuff, alcohol, over the couter medicine, take aways, meals out for myself, OH, DS (3 years old), DD (5 days, so far no cost, BF & reuseable nappies etc). I will declare for March later today/tomorrow as OH is going shopping later to make the most of our vouchers.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I am joining this for the first time ever after lurking on MSE for a while! Made a rough guess at £120 being enough for two adults, to include all household items as well as food (but not eating out) but we will see...
We have slightly expensive tastes but fortunately this is counteracted by cooking absolutely everything from scratch...0
