  • Been a bit bad at this challenge, so this month I hope to do better. Setting my budget for £100 for 2 adults. To include food, toileties and household goods. My freezer is rammed with whoopsies so I have been banned by OH buying anything frozen, or to be frozen.

Popped to Aldi at lunchtime for a few bits and pieces and managed to spend £6.47.
This included - bread rolls, pesto, bacon, hot cross buns, 2 pks biscuits (will hide from OH, visitors coming!), cereal and bananas.

Not too bad I suppose but they'd run out of milk and I'll have to pop to the corner shop for that later.

I'm hoping to get away with just fresh stuff this weekend and not to do a "big" shop - have mealplanned for me (the veggie) and am trying to drag out the meat in the freezer for OH for the week.

I also have enough bits and pieces for the weekend now- its only my mum and sister and we're all supposedly on pre wedding diets but we've planned at least 1 meal out.

    Good luck to everyone else!
  • Just reporting a NSD for me. Tea tonight is going to be homemade chilli con carne with some whoopsie'd beef picked up yesterday, and then the rest of the chilli will be going in a mexican pie. (Sort of like lasagne made with fajita wraps, and in between each wrap is salsa on one level, chilli on the next, sour cream/cream cheese, and repeat. Topped with cheese and breadcrums - yum!)

Does anyone know whether this would be ok to freeze? I don't see why not, but seeing as how it makes enough portions for about 6 meals, I don't want to either waste it or be eating it for a week!

    Thanks :)
