Oh..I'm so going to fail this month:rotfl:
Top up shop at Tesco Express yesterday (£6.63) and £66.48 for today's delivery. Brings my total spend for this month upto £307.65!!!!!
Some good news though...just got emailed a Sainsburys code (as I've not used their deliveries for a while) and it was for £15 off a £70 shop:T - will use this next time to hopefully get my shopping at around £50. I do expect to go over by the end of the challenge though:mad:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

OH spotted whole leg of New Zealand lamb in Mr T's yesterday half price so have sent him back today for another one - that will take care of the lamb kleftico for the lunch a week on Sunday!
Have updated signature accordingly.0 -
morning,
Sounds like there's been lots of bargin grabbing going on.
I'm doing ok so far on this months challenges, thought the half term would throw me but the girls have been really good (although getting up at 6:30am isnt what I'd planned lol) and not asked for too much. We made rice-krispie cakes which is nice for a treat and a bowl of that goes really far!
I am aiming to hold out going to Icelands until next weekend, its a big step for me but its something I want to do, seeing as the icelands around here are in centre of towns with no parking its quite a pain to get a massive trolley load to your car.
Menu planning going well, certainly reducing waste. I am going to reduce portion sizes I cook, I think I give dd1 far too much and she feels like she's disappointed me when she cant eat it all.
Well, enjoy some NSD while shops are closed!!0 -
Hello everyone, i dont know if anyone has heard of costco but if you know someone who can take you, there are some bargains to be had. You have to look round but i picked up 1100 tea bags for £7.99 the other day, along with various other items, semi skimmed milk 6 pints for £1.47 but it is trade only though so you do need a trade card. Mind you i think the tea bags will last me forever:rotfl:but i cant resist a bargain. Ive just updated my sig and hoping to come within my budget this month. The co-op were also selling hovis best/both 2 for £2.00, i thought that seemed quite reasonable.
Any way have to go, hope you all have a great day x
:EasterBunJust off to buy my easter eggsSealed Pot Challenge no. 0920 -
Hi everyone
sorry it has taken me so long to join April thread. I am aiming for £150 for April. Not sure if I will achieve target this month as I have just spent £70+ at local farm butcher. I know I can buy cheaper elsewhere but the quality and pedigree of the meat is superb.
I also want to buy some household cleaning supplies to stockpile if I can see any at bargain prices. Have a really good stock cupboard so hopefully if I only buy fresh produce as I need it and avoid any wastage I will just about scrape in on target.
I feel it would be morally wrong of me to be wasteful when so many families are struggling to survive. Wishing everyone a peaceful Easter. It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
Have a great Easter everyone who celebrates it
I got a very special pressie this year - 2 of my 3 free hens have started laying eggs (got 1 yesterday and 2 today) and the third one has hatched out 6 chicks this week!
In addition to this, we have been eating the salad leaves from the garden, so that's 2 items knocked off my grocery list, soon to be 3, as the rhubarb is growing really quickly.
Spend to date on groceries is high compared to where I'd have liked it to be, but things just keep going up in price and I keep stockpiling on special offers and visiting the Appr0ved F00d website!
Sorry I'm not able to keep up with this thread but I am still taking part and looking in whenever I can. Good luck and welcome to the 'newbies', hi guys to the 'oldies' and I hope everyone has a great weekend.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Just popped in to update sig. Am feeling quite confident as I'm just back from Mr A, and managed to stick to my list! I've only one big shop to do before my month ends on the 20th. Freezer is fairly full so Im a happy bunny!
Thanks again for all the tips:Ive adopted loads of them!
My top three: Plan and make a list, only go to supermarket once a week( I used to go 2-3 times a week), cook once, eat twice( make double and freeze)
Have a great holiday weekend for those who are off!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Hi folks. Well I've managed to get through this week without buying in any more food. There is only me here at the moment though! I'm still eating my way through last week's veggie box. Have had loads of stirfries and salad sandwiches. Feel a pot of soup coming on. I thought I'd need bread by the end of the week but have a few slices left + 2 wraps. Doing a bit of a store cupboard challenge as we are putting the house on the market soon and I want people to be able to open the cupboards and see them as roomy. Now that's optimistic - thinking of viewers
.
Anyway, I keep popping in here to see how you are all doing and it keeps me focused. When I think about it, buying the veggie box (delivered) keeps me out of the shops
