Seem to have spent a lot this month already, though makes a difference starting 23rd March. Its the popping over to Mr T for extra milk, bread, bits for lunch during the hols that are adding up. Anyhoo worked out have £131-45 left, but have a big shop coming tomorrow, Easter Dinner included in that. That should leave me with not a great deal left.May be lucky and do it by pence. Fortunately bought a lot of pasta last month on offer, we all like pasta except Hubby, that's where the ocassional plate pie comes in handy.:rotfl:Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.

Another shop at Mr T's yesterday for F&V and stuff for my storec-cupboard as well as ingredients to make 4 lasagnes tomorrow (3 to freeze). I should have enough to last the month now in store cupboard and freezer and only need to buy fresh fruit and veg as well as dairy (make my own bread and have all ingredients for that).
Still can't resist whoopsied meat though especially as freezer is half full0 -
Well, turns out I have no chance of meeting this month's target as I have just been found to be anaemic in the last month of my pregnancy, and so have been told to up my red meat intake - not cheap considering we only eat organic meat  The main problem is, I am not keen on too much meat in one meal - I like only a small amount to flavour the dish rather than a bowlful of mince (
) but can't risk shortchanging myself on the iron.
Luckily, Asda smartprice cornflakes are fortified so I will make sure I have a bowl of those every morning with some dried fruit and a glass of orange juice alongside. I will also have a glass of orange juice with every meal I eat to help bump up intake. I have tried to redo my meal plan for next week to include the many variations on mince :rolleyes:My pre-shop list on mysupermarket is giving me a total of about £38 so lets see how that turns out when we go shopping tomorrow...
Love and compassion to all x0 -
I have a shop coming from Ocado tomorrow. I got an email voucher after I had ordered to I edited my order to get the discount. I am definitely going to be way over this month.
I made HM pies last night, they went down well. Tonight I will pick some cold meat up on the way home to have salad and new potatoes. I am making chicken sotck tonight so I can make some soups to freeze tomorrow. I am off for a week so I hope to get a lot of cooking and baking done.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500

Boodle-don't forget there are lots of other good sources of iron. I am slightly anaemic and I was told if I didn't want to up my red meat then boiled eggs, dark green veggies (think Popeye and spinach), baked beans and dried figs are all full of iron. You could make yourself a salad with some baby spinach and hard boiled eggs and have a wholemeal pitta bread on the side along with a glass of orange juice and that will help a lot.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650

NSD today for me. I think I'm slightly tempting fate though, I've not got my meal plan on the wall in the kitchen and I'm just a wee bit worried I'll succumb. I've already had to force myself to make my lunch twice as DS is off school I don't have to do it. I also have to leave earlier in the morning (6.50am) so I'm not much in the mood for constructing lunch.
When I was off yesterday I shopped unncessarily. I found myself comfort shopping. Why does it always make me feel better when I buy food?:o I need to remember that it feels EVEN BETTER to have money in the bank.
Still, one more day and I can get a whole four days off. Need to think about an egg for DS too.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Didn't buy sugar today, I seem to be in the shop constantly at the mo and fancied an NSD, so figured I'd just have to use brown sugar in my tea if I run out!
On my own for dinner tonight, so I'm making an experimental lasagne type thing using up the mushrooms and pepper that desperately needed using or binning. I'm not sure how edible it will be, but it's reducing waste, so it will do!!:D
Trying to do an online shop to stock up for OH while I'm away some of next week and the following week - not sure there's any point buying any fresh stuff, mights just order a week's worth of frozen pizzas and weetabix!0 -

hello All
Not a regular poster on here but I love reading and keeping up to date with everything. Bought my 1st whoopsied item (i now know what it means as was on the asda label;)).
Spent £20.00 in toysrus, buying DD a fruit factory, so she can make her own smoothies, juices & lollies - dual purpose up her intake of fruit & veg so not grumbling:D. Promised her a trip to the market to buy fruit & fish for Friday so I hope to claw back the overspend on cheap produce, another cheap activity to do over the holiday's (yeah bring it on).:T:hello:SadSadJenJen
