Ok - really not doing that great this month!! Have so far spent £234.54 of my £400 budget & there's still 3 weeks to go of my 5 week month:eek:

Popped to Mr S yesterday for some bits - ended up spending £30 (kids were with me;)) - they've gone mad on croissants and it's costing me a fortune!!! Plus they drink A LOT of milk - probably spend £5+ per week on the white stuff:rotfl:

Have just ordered my Mr T delivery (due tomorrow) which should come in at around the £70 mark. With the special offers I've bought over the last few weeks though - I have a lot of stuff hidden away (to stop DH & kids eating it!) for packed lunches (when they go back to school) and after tomorrow's delivery shouldn't need to spend anything else on household/toiletries etc. I also have about 4 tubs of country life spreadable in the fridge - currently only £1 in Mr S!!!

So we'll have to see how it goes. Should leave me with £50 for each of the last 2 weeks - mmm...can see me having to dip into my savings:mad:

  • Another NSD for me, I'm looking at hopefully not needing to do an actual food shop until Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I have so much stuff overflowing my freezer it'll be a doddle at least until Sunday! My theory is the later I leave that 'first shop' the better the month will go. I just hope I don't make up for lost time!
  • stocked up on fresh stuff yesterday, cheese, ham, fruit veg, salad stuff etc. Went to Aldi for a change fruit and veg seem a lot cheaper than anywhere else and looks good quality too. Also got enough bread (whoopsied!) to last the week, have put it in the freezer so hopefully will stop my usual trick of popping into Mr T's for a loaf and coming out with a trolley load! :o

spent £32.81 so i'm doing ok at the mo :D and not planning on stepping foot in supermarket until after easter!

Spent another £9.42 in Morrisods yesterday - although I had most of the ingredients I needed for the meal last night, had to buy some nice bread, parmesan and wine - and bought more cheese that was on offer.

It's scary how much I've already spent, when I started the month with full cupboards, fridge and freezer! Will need sugar on my way home from work tonight, but will get it from the Co-op on my way home, as there's less temptation there!

OH has grudgingly agreed that Asda Weetabix are in fact edible, but is still trying to bargain with me that for every box of fake weetabix I buy, I should buy one real box!! I really don't get it!

Woo-hoo - just got my first star!!!

    Morning

Went to Tesco last night for a couple of bits and bobs, and I am trying to factor in my sons 6th birthday party food into the shopping budget and got a few things last night that'll help.

Got 2 x Hovis Loaves (whoopsied) 10p each for 1 loaf of cheese and 1 loaf of ham sandwiches
Got 24 party bags for £1.95
    12 Girls yo-yos for £1.47
12 Boys Finger Pupets for £1.98
    27 Ben 10 Pin Badges for £4.50

that's all I bought last night, but went onto "mysupermarket" when I came home and checked the prices of a few other things

    Jelly Babies were 63p
Tesco Value Sausage Rolls (50) for £1
Tesco Value Fairy Cakes (12) for 47p I will put some melted chocolate over then with a mini egg on top
Maomi (sp?) bag of them were 87p

So it looks like I will definitely be able to factor in food and party bags for his party on Sunday into the shopping budget:D, will post the total spend for the party at the weekend, and will update sig soon.

I'm going shopping for the 2nd time this month shortly. I'm hoping that it'll be reasonable. I've planned in a couple of meat free nights this week as the kids are off school & eating me out of house & home :p so I need to cut back elsewhere IYSWIM? I'll update my signature later with my spends - going to Netto, Asda & butchers so we'll see how I get on.
