Sorry I haven't been around but you know how life gets
I'd like to try a budget of £200 this month but hopefully I'll be under but what's the betting I'll go over0 -
spent £44 in MrT on saturday, hopefully got everything for the week. I forgot that its easter this weekend and I have ended up with unexpected guests so that might throw my budget out somewhat.
still trying hard though
will update my sig.0 -

Spent £3.54 today on bread and milk - and that was it! Bread was £1.29 , but should be a vast improvement on today's sandwich of cream cheese and manky salad on stale bread!! I still ate it, but was quite annoyed that I hadn't been organised enough to have anything nicer!
Got friends coming for dinner tomorrow night, so we'll be using beef mince from the freezer to do meatballs with tomato sauce and tagliatelle - should have all the ingredients, so will just have to buy some nice fresh bread tomorrow to go with it. I like cooking MSE type meals for friends, as they always seem to go down well. Although maybe the wine helps!!0 -
Hi All
Staggered round Iceland, Mr T, Sainsbugs and Lidl and spent a total of £34.42. Need to buy milk, and fruit during the week - ie tomorrow night and should last then til the weekend. Out for Easter Sunday so will have a nice meal on Saturday evening instead.Mortgage free as at 1/9/13 :j
To start work on the credit cards now!!0 -
Hi all, I spent £41 at Mr M's so I updated my sig, that does include £2 of saving stamps towards Christmas, I get some every time I go and have about £20 now.
Got some whoopsie spuds (59p) and salad for work sandwiches, milk, eggs etc. No coffee this time as we've got loads left from last month (anyone who knows me knows I hoard coffe!)
I'm needing vitamins as I feel really quite tired lately, but at least I get a few days off over Easter.
Not buying eggs this year, Mr/ M's do baskets of fruit so I'll get a few of those to give to family instead, it'll end up costing the same but much nicer, I might byuy myself one too! :cool:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Hi everyone
£2.21 spent by DH today at Morrisons (milk and cheese rolls). Am determined to hang on in there, though I do sometimes think not paying attention is easier:o
I didn't throw out the chickpeas the other day. I threw some in the pork casserole in the SC and the rest were put in a low oven with some chilli flakes and BURNT to a crisp:mad:. I decided to persevere and eat them..... and nearly choked into the bargain they were so dry:o
Re goji berries. I too bought them the other week and could not believe how absolutely rank they are. I am so miserly I wouldn't throw them out so instead had them in my porridge. They're much, much better hydrated. That handsome boy off Grow your Own Drugs swears by them too, and apparently you can grow your own
I won the Grand National sweep at work today so am £35 better off:TGrocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Hello all,
First spend of the GC for me, £2.20 on spinach and little gem lettuce from MrAs. Though the pinach was shown as 'roll back' to £1.38 - how exactly is it rolled back when last week it was £1?
Today I dicovered the wonder that is Home Bargains - 59p for a 6 pack of sunbites crisps (and I had a 50p off voucher - win!), 19p for bags of Dr Oetker chocolate chips (as opposed to ~79p!) etc. My swag came to a little over £2, but OH paid for it as I only had my card on me.
So I said I'd pay him back with one of those healthy juices from Zumo... an they didn't take cards! Haha. I think he was a bit disgruntled by then.... Oops.0 -
Hi all
Have updated my signature for the week. Spent between F/foods, Mr M & £ shop (cleaning stuff). Seemed a lot for all I got but the freezer is so full, can't get another thing in!
Got some pork fillet cooking in the slow cooker for tomorrow and will try to squeeze what's left over into freezer - should just about manage if I take out a couple of curry portions made last week!!
So really hoping not to spend as much next weekend, however having all my kids and grandkids over on 19th for lunch - that might bump up the spend somewhat but keeping it simple with home made chicken curry and Greek lamb kleftico with rice and lots of home made breads.
Luckily chef son is providing starters and daughter will bring desserts so that will help.
Really enjoying reading this thread and picking up tips all the time.
