powie - :T well done on the scones :T Great bargain on the BM too (one man's trash is another man's treasure)
I'll look forward to reading about your BM successes
I've only recently discovered TKMaxx - did you pick up a GiveGet bag?
stumpjumper (love that name!!) Yes, it is surprising just how much you can reduce your soap powder by simply tweaking it here and there.
OOoh, your HM wine sounds lovely. Enjoy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Evenin' all ... for which add voiceover of Dixon of Dock Green. (Showing my age! )
I think I got the balance all wrong for today .. I seem to have spent the day chained to the kitchen, alternately cooking or washing up!
First breakfast, then made some oaty biscuits, then h/m pizza for lunch, then we managed to get out with the dogs for a very bracing walk along the riverside, then back to help my best friend the Slow Cooker produce its yummy goodness of a roast chicken for dinner.
I don't know WHAT I do to yorkshire puddings, but they either stay flat as pancakes or rise up like little balloons - all top and no bottom! Still, the dogs don't mind - they got the lot in their dinner and didn't complain.
So, I can say that I've been well and truly OS today - but I think I need to inject a bit of modern liberation into the mix in future!!
Haven't read the thread yet - been too busy - so congratulations to all those celebrating, hugs to all those in need. I'm off to bed in a minute, so hope everyone has a good night and wakes up refreshed and rarin' to go in the morning!! Well, we can but hope, eh??:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Poshpaws - I'll be your dog
You've been very industrious today, well done you :T Try delegating the washing up to your dh/OH - call it a trade off, you cook, he washes up and then you both get to spend more time out together with the dogs along the riverbank like Ratty and Mole
As for the Yorkshires, do you "rest" your batter for a couple of hours before cooking? Also, make certain your tins and the fat are nice and hot *before* you add the batter.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

:hello: Gooood morning OS'ers :hello:
Hope no one minds if I start the thread earlyMy night for sleep issues  Despite that though, I still have a busy schedule for a Monday!
I've set up the BM for later in the morning and I'm just waiting on a wash load to finish.
Notice Martin will be on TV tonight, so I've made a note of that on my To Do list.
Have to go into town pick up something for the boys before school ends. Have some phone calls to make too; there is a Tae-Kwon-Do class held locally which states that the first month is Free (I love that 'F' word!) so I'm going to give the man a call to check out the full details.
B: Fruit smoothie (banana and some frozen fruits blitzed in the processor)
L: Hummous and salad pittaChickpea Curry, rice, salad. Blancmange with Chunky Everyday Biscuit.
Failed to do my inventory over the weekend, so need to tackle that in order to draw up a menu plan (got a fairly busy week ahead with some appointments to attend, so I need to be a bit organised).
Must remember to use the duck eggs too so baking will be a Victoria Sandwich for the freezer to use them up with, but that can be made and cooked while the curry 'matures' in the oven and the biscuits cook.
Have a great Monday everyone

As for the Yorkshires, do you "rest" your batter for a couple of hours before cooking? Also, make certain your tins and the fat are nice and hot *before* you add the batter.I do have to admit, I did put a smidgen of raspberry jam on a couple of them, which subsequently found their way into my face, before giving the rest to the dogs!!
Yes, I should really have galvanised DH into action for the last batch of dishes. I keep hoping he'll offer and don't see why I should have to ask - but hoping isn't getting me anywhere, so I shall have to take the direct approach!
Yes, I rested the batter and made sure the tin and oil were sizzling hot before pouring in the batter - but they still turned themselves into little bottomless bubbles that stuck to the tins like glue. Its weird, because when I do a Toad in the Hole, that batter behaves beautifully. I'm wondering if its something weird with my Yorkshires tin. Maybe I'll get another one when I've a few pennies to spare, and try again.

Good morning everyone,
Mouth still sore, but definatly starting to feel better, so thats good, might even try to eat something later, although my tongue still feels very bruised so not sure how i will get on!!!
Have got DDs bedding in the WM, and need to do some cleaning, as i did absolutly nothing over the weekend, but will get started on that once DS and DD are at school.
Have 3 little ones to amuse today, think it might be a colouring day, they all enjoy that.
Well, i think thats all for today, hope everyone is well, and has a lovely day.
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning all
Everyone is out of my hair today, YIPPEEEEE!!
DD and DS are at school and DH has a days overtime. I love him to bits but after nearly a month at home he is doing my head in and taking over my computer
I baked 2 loaves and a lemon and walnut cake yesterday and cooked tonights tea so I just need to whizz around with the hoover, tidy DD's bedroom, stick the washing machine on and then I can get out in the garden and do some digging.
It's quite overcast here but not cold at all. I have a lot to do in the garden thoughOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
