(((((((((((((((((((Frey)))))))))))))))) hope there is better news soon.......
Finished re-arranging my sewing room last night, phew, moving that book case was a SLOG..........but its done, have to get used to a new layout now.
Washing out on line, very cold here this morning, we have been out for a walk it was bitter, no sun here, just grey skies.
Pork with all the trimmings for supper tonight, ginger pudding for dessert, one of OH's favs..... do not make steamed sponge very often, he does love his puds and it will do us two nights.
Home made chicken , leek and lentil soup for lunch, OH is just doing it now, I made it yesterday enough for 3 days lunch.
Had a look at the garden this morning, the little daffs are out, the big ones showing flowers, the camellia is about ready to burst an couple of sunny days and it will be out, it is white and last year had about 200 blooms on it. Its in the front garden , many people stop and look at it as they pass, maybe I should put a collection tin on the gate??????

Afternoon Everyone
Having a very lazy day today and not doing anything OS, managed to get all my jobs done yesterday and some extra including giving our bedroom a really good tidy. I intend to give it a spring clean tomorrow. I'm going to spend today with DH and DD its HM pizza fro tea which is all done and just needs to go in the oven
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
I went for a 25-mile cycle ride with the Bloke yesterday so woke up feeling a bit sore. However, I decided the best thing to do was get back on, so I cycled to Morrisons to do my shopping. A week's shopping for two on a bicycle is no mean feat!
I have two pannier bags so I had to plan my menu carefully:
Sun: Beef stew
Mon: Macaroni cheese with bacon
Tues: (Cook chicken in SC) - Thai green curry
Wed: Butternut squash soup
Thurs: Chicken and mushroom risotto
Fri: Pizza
Sat: Chicken Pie
Shopping came to £18 and I got to feel virtuous at not using any carrier bags, too.0 -
Afternoon all!
I didnt wake up until 1pm today - i was totally exhausted after last night and was up till 5am!! The gig went really really well, everyone enjoyed it and the band performed brilliantly - I was very proud!
Today is going to be a slow clean up of the house as im too exhausted to put a lot of energy into it, and then I think ill roast a chicken and go to the bank to put cash into the ATM, a direct debit has come out early (Saturday instead of tuesday) but is dated to monday - my theory is that if I put cash in in sunday and they backdate as usual, then it will have been in there earlier than the DD date and ill avoid a charge. Its so annoying! Fingers crossed my theory will work anyway.
Im going to avoid going shopping till tomorrow or Tuesday, im going to withdraw the cash and keep it in a separate purse so that I can keep track of my shopping spends easier, recently ive just been putting things on the cards and not really paying attention, and os has gone a bit out of the window. Ive even been buying my lunch instead of making it!! My week off work should hopefully put things all back on track.
Im off for a very strong coffee to wake myself up with.....

AFTERNOON!
Long time no speak........ just wanted to say im still alive! :j
New job is.... ok.... still finding my feet and trying to suss if its for me or not. The travelling is... ok.... when the trains run ok.. (they were cancelled tuesday and so had to get a bus.. spent a total of 6 hours travelling that day and chester is only 30 miles away!!!) It IS a bit tiring and annoying leaving the house at 7am and and not getting home till gone 7pm...
But it will all pay off in the end.... WHEN i finally get paid (missed this months cut off so wont be paid till end of April and im £400 overdrawn already!!  )
OS is out the window... havent got the time or energy when i get home... and nearest to oldstyle in work is cleaning the glass cabinets with watered down washing up liquid!!! :rotfl:
Have found a wonderful looking butcher, farm shop, fruit shop and "housey" shops (selling kitchen stuff etc) in chester but i have literally no money and have racked my credit card debt up to close £1600 so really having to hold back from spending money i havent got so "window shopping" only!!
Next off on wednesday... so will try and catch up some more then... But going to go finish cleaning (dusting + polishing) the house and maybe make some food for lunches this week.... before trying to fit in seeing OH.
Have a nice week everyone and (((HUGS))) to all!!!

Afternoon folks!
Here (Shropshire) is overcast. I have the nappies blowing on the line .... freeze drying?!?
My snowdrops are getting to the end, the crocii are going strong, the daffs are still nowhere near blooming yet. DH is out on the bank burning things in a manly kinda way!
10 portions of leek and potato soup are cooling ready for the freezer, 4 meals worth of mash is freezing. Veg stock is being made in the SC.
Dinner will be roast chicken, roast 'snips, roast spuds, carrots and mange tout with gravy. That ginger pudding of tootles sounds like a nice thought .... any chance of the recipe?!?
I'm planning on making a chicken/leek pie with the leftovers tomorrow. My question is ... if I want to make it and freeze it .. do I cook the pie as normal, then freeze it, or just make the pastry and cook the contents and assemble it as in ready to cook, then freeze or what?!? Same question about beef/ale pie?
Right, time to check on dd, she is being ominously quietGC - March 2024 -0 -
Afternoon everyone, its a very cold day here today but despite this I ventured to the local sunday market today and got a couple of bargains. Got some stuff for work which was cheap..pens etc for the kids. Then I got a magnolia shrub for 9 pound. Then I ventured to the meat auction and got some rib eye steak...8 pieces for 10pound so I hope its nice. They were doing some fantastic deals but my freezer is full.
I currently have a steak and guinness stew in the oven and I am just about to have me a nice hot soak in the tub.
Feeling a little upset with BF today as he said he wanted us to spend the day together, so after we got back from the market he went out on his motorbike for 2 hours, then he came home and told me I was boring for watching a house program and did I want to go the pub. Which really meant he wanted to go the pub so we have had a bit of a row and off he has gone to the pub 'to see his dad' funny how he can only see his dad in the pub on sundays!0 -
It's my birthday today, so got treated to breakfast in bed, home-cured bacon, eggs and mushrooms, yum yum....
Just got our new (1968) VW camper and been out in it today to the local reservoir where there's a massive play area for the kids. They enjoyed it but it was bitterly cold, but the freshly-brewed tea more than made up for that. Just done bangers, mash and beans for tea (in practice for weekends away in camper) and had a slice of HM birthday cake that's been maturing in the cupboard since January.
OH is in the kitchen washing up by the sounds of it and I've just volunteered him for kids bathtime. Butties to cut up for tomorrow then hopefully that's it for tonight, and we can slob out in front of the tele cos the kids are shattered with all that fresh air and should be in bed early!!0 -
hi all!:hello: had a productive sunday so far, made bread and scones, 3 loads of washing, been recycling to the skip and tackled the garden for the first time!
Our second tap show went very well last night! and we enjoyed a curry afterwards to celebrate!:j
OH is up the garden with his baby racing pigeons, both boys out with mates so its lovely and peaceful here!;)
We're having roast chicken, veggies and yorkies for tea followed by coconut rice pudding(it's delicious!)
Another day off tomorrow! :j (OH too!) we're off to Malvern for the day to take DS1's laptop in for repair before having a look around the shops.
Going to visit friends this evening(more pigeon fanciers)
have a lovely evening all!:wave:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
((HUGS)) for those who need them
Well, I was too late to get to the Boot Fair, but still in time to go to a local Gift and Craft Fair. Picked up some beautiful 2nd hand Australian magazines called "Inspirations" for just 50p each from one of the stalls.:j Not sure of their retail value in sterling but they are quality magsPredominantly embroidery themed, but also with full size patterns in them for things such as Christening Gowns, Victorian Nighties, Slippers - plenty of value for a 50p investment (plus the money from the magazines is promised to Charity so double bonus)
Also just sent off for some free Honey and Maple Syrup recipe booklets off the Freebies Board plus checked out the recipe section  While on that website, printed off a Kids Free Study Guide on Honey from the Kids Honey Section  (My youngest will enjoy that!)
If that didn't keep me busy enough, there was also a link to another recipe site with some gorgeous Breakfast Recipes to print off (including a section on Mothers Day Breaksfasts ... ... might send the link to that one to my D11yo via email:laugh:
Made a note on my To Do List for tomorrow to pop into Tesco Pharmacy to see if I can find the Free Women's Health Goody Bag that Welsh Dragon was lucky enough to get today. Fingers X'd
All in all, not a bad day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
