    Good evening everyone!

I can't believe how bright it is even though it's nearly six o'clock. It's so much better when the days get longer, though I'm not looking forward to the hour change as that's a bit of a set back for a while.

Soba...happy birthday to you!! It sounds like you had a lovely day despite the cold weather. And what wouldn't I do for some of your birthday cake (I'm assuming it was a lovely rich fruity one).

Fay...kick OH's butt and remind him how lucky he is to have you!

PP...RIP your Dyson. Actually, if you have a wee look through the Heaven bit of the Bent, Vent and Heaven Sent board apparently Dyson have v.good customer service. You may well get your machine fixed at their convenience and expense. Give them a go!

Today has been a bit of a lazy bones day in the land of SnowyOwl. Like JW I had an extended lie in...though as normal was up half the night reading, looking at the internet and so on. I really should hoist myself out of bed at around 7.30 am whether or not I slept during the night. Then maybe that would encourage a decent sleeping pattern.
This afternoon I was at B&Q - I spent £142 on paint:eek::eek:. Mr Painter & Decorator is coming tomorrow, and will be here for three days doing my kitchen, dining room, hall/landing, and front bedroom. My car gets serviced on Tuesday, and MoTed on Thursday. I feel like I should just throw money around like confetti as it definitely isn't sticking to my bank account these days.

Regards Old Style, today I'm going to have to clear out the rooms the painter is doing. Well maybe not the bedroom as there is no way I could shift the wardrobe by myself. If he is unhappy about the bed still being in there I can shift that tomorrow evening though it's a dismantle and reassemble job which I can't stand.

These days I am feeling v.fat and frumpy. Well actually I am v.fat and frumpy. On Thursday when I walked to work (due to car being at the mechanic's overnight) my back was in horrible painful spasms - I think that this is down to doing far too little exercise and carrying too much excess. It's depressing but I know the answer...diet and exercise...exercise and diet. A while ago I joined the weight loss thread in I Wanna, but found it a bit hectic and hard to keep up with, so I think I'll persevere with a couple of GI Diets and just get quietly on with it. I know I'm in a rut of sitting on my botty reading, studying or looking at the internet, and it's not doing me much good. I've stocked up on fruit and veg, and bought a decent size lunch box to bring to work. Just gotta do it now.

That's it for now folks, see ya all tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  • Happy Birthday Soba:beer:

Luckily the Dyson is covered till next year:D so will call them in the morning and hopefully get it fixed.

Dinner was lovely and did extra new potatoes for Potatoe salad. I add crispy bacon to it and is totally delish. OH made a tray cake (sponge with icing)whilst oven was on. So will be put in DD's lunchbox and is great with cuppas for the week for us...for a few pence really:D Also made up DD's sarnies for the week and stuck in freezer in their bags, so just need to pull each one out either night before or that morning. Have got her lunchbox eady for tomorrow. Its a busy week here this week and want it as simple as possible.

House is all clean and sparkly and do really need to sort out under the stairs and bed this week-its not too bad but want to try and flog as much as poss on ebay to put towards DD's uniform.

Ive made lists daily for this week as I have several things to pay and sort through this week, including quotes for Car Insurance and the MOT is due next month:eek: luckily car is taxed till October. Also, have to finish the meal paln for next few days and update the finances. Have just had an email from my cashback credit card and have £70 being credited next month, so thats half DD's blazer:j

With the stairlift being fitted tomorrow, I think I will stay in the bedroom whilst there here as I will freeze other wise and I can watch a couple of films:o and get quite abit of my course in too. Its a 2 man job and will be here roughly 5-6 hours. We have a funny staircase apparently as it goes up a few steps, then up to the passage turned around abit IYKWIM:confused:

OH is reading DD a story.....she's on the last Harry Potter book ATM, and when the chapters done we are watching a film called "The Propostion", dont know if anyone has watched it?

    Anyway, best go.
    Hugs to all.

    PP

    Hi eveyone,

I've not had a chance to read all of the posts on this thread today, but hope you have all had a good Sunday. I've had a really os day today.

Had to get my 2 1/2 DS a new pair of shoes as he is now in a size 10. Managed to get a lovely pair of caterpillar trainers for £12.99 instead of £30 in TXMaxx today. Also got some basic bits of shopping to see us through the week. I always wanted a breadmaker and have got one of a friend for £10 (a brand new Pacific one - unwanted gift). All I need to do now is explore the breadmaker thread on here.:j I was also happy as I made some scones that turned out okay for the first time, (not like Alfred the Great's offerings !). Anyhow enjoy your evening everyone.

  • I've had my first real OS day in ages. I've got all the washing done and hung out, I'm using less and less washing powder each week and I'm amazed at how little it takes to get the clothes clean! I've just put 5 gallons of home wine in to ferment and look forward to drinking it in 8 weeks time.

We had beef curry done in the SC for tea which was lovely and H2B made poppdoms. I've now got some lentil soup on the hob for my lunch at work.

... now I'm just sitting back enjoying a previous batch of home brew wine :)
