  • Hi everyone,
I havent posted on the daily thread for ages, but have been "lurking"
Today is my day off so I've lots of washing, ironing and housework planned for today. I haven't started yet as after dropping DD's off at school I had to pop to the shops to renew my bus pass, post some letters and get some petrol. I popped on the computer to update money and oops here I am, I automatically log in here without thinking.

I have treated myself to the new Harry Potter DVD, paid cash as Im not using the credit card. The balances are at nil and staying that way! So whilst cleaning the lounge I will have it on as a treat.

Tea tonight is salmon in a (hm) lemon sauce with pasta.

I've got the day off tomorrow but unfortunately its because I have a funeral to go to. It's going to be horrible because it was a good friend who was only 37, OH also has the day off for it too. (Luckily for me my horrible boss said she has "no objections" if I wanted to go to the funeral - some people!) I will take the opportunity tomorrow to pop on MSE to cheer myself up!

Right Im off to get the salmon out of the freezer, and load up the WM.

Good luck with the stairlift PP!

glad to hear some good news from people - PP i hope the stairlift is everything you hoped for!!
Sweet Pea - hope tomorrow's funeral is ok.

i've now been at work for 2 hours waiting for a student to turn up..... losing patience rapidly!!! have run out of bread and can't afford to replace the BM yet - so hopefully today i can spend some time on here reading up on how to make bread without it.

and i'll also try to be home for martin's appearance - thanks for the reminder queenie (I never remember to check the diary!)

    Morning all!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck PP with the stair lift at least now you will be able to get upstairs to sleep instead of sleeping on the sofa.

I am sitting here with a cup of coffee in sparkling clean house, all cleaned this morning, and a load of washing on the line, lunch and supper prepared, waiting for a delivery man to come..................need to sit and wait, cannot hear the bell if I am upstairs, hence the quick run round with the microcloth and the hoover this morning. :j :j :j

A bit dull, but windy, the sun is trying to peep through, so am hopeful that the washing will dry and I can get it ironed tonight, still have the shhest and duvet cover in the basket from last week.........oooooooooooooopppppppppppppsssssssssss.......

Post lady has just been with my new Be-ro baking book, yummy..... looks like the baking head will be on later..............

    Have a good day...............

    Morning :hello:

Not having a great start to the week.

If I'd have had access to my PC at 1:30 this morning it would have been me starting the daily thread. On the other hand, if I'd have had access to my PC - i.e. been at home instead of at BF's - I wouldn't have been awake at 1:30 because I would have been snoozing in peace and quiet rather than having a big sweaty snoring thing keeping me awake

Honestly, although he's a total sweetheart and is crazy about me, much as I love him I don't feel good about being in a relationship, if that makes sense??? I don't "get" couple-dom. It doesn't agree with me. It makes me sleepless and tense and cranky and takes up too much time. That makes me sound horrid doesn't it. I thrive as a singleton to the extent that despite plenty of offers, I basically never even went on a date until I was 25 (and that was with current BF - he was very persistent!) I'm not good at getting close to people - intimacy makes me very anxious - and I'm not a "physical" person either, I thrive on the intellectual and emotional stimulation of my family and friends. This sounds weird, but it's always been a mystery to me what men and women see in each other?

Sorry for not-OS-related-at-all rant, it's just really getting me down. I just don't know anybody else who feels this way, and it makes me feel like I must be a really cold person :o

Also just been on the phone to HSBC who can't get their butts in gear as far as my new credit card goes  I applied for a card with balance transfer, I phoned them up TEN DAYS AGO to confirm it was going through cos it had been ages, they said yes of course madam the balance transfer will be activated straight away and we'll send you out your card. Well have I heard from them since? Anyway, phoned them this morning and they said they hadn't been able to activate my balance transfer until I'd confirmed that I was happy with the amount (credit limit was less than I asked for) and the berk on the phone DIDN'T BELIEVE ME when I said I'd already been advised verbally of my credit limit on one of my numerous previous phone calls to them and that I'd confirmed IN WRITING - three weeks ago - that I was happy for it to go ahead. Now he's saying it'll be through by the end of this week - well I'll believe it when I see it, but I'll be very mad if it isn't, cos my 0% period on my old card is up in two days time, and that balance transfer should have been done at least a week ago  If HSBC have made me incur needless interest on my old card, I shall be writing them a VERY snotty letter asking them for compensation

Very busy week coming up - out Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings! Luckily I think I've arranged the budget reasonably well so that I can have another relatively expensive week. Thursday I'm going all the way to Cambridge for the evening - got some freebie opera tickets and am visiting a friend I was at uni with. The train fare will be almost covered by a £9 compensation note I got from GNER for having been delayed on New Year's Eve - it was half the value of an £18 ticket, apparently you have to have been delayed 3 hours or more to get a full refund, so I only got half to say sorry for making me wait on a freezing station platform for over 2 hours only for the train to have run out of food when it finally arrived!

Went to the cinema yesterday to see Walk the Line - it was a bit of an indulgence because I don't normally go to Central London cinemas without a ticket deal. Paid £8.50 at the Apollo West End, which is a lovely cinema - very "grown up". EXCELLENT film. Then went to BF's for a meal out (Thai) as it was his birthday. He liked his presents.

Hugs to all especially Sweet Pea and Freya.

    Catch you later
    Rzl xx

    Morning all

I'm struggling a bit today, i hurt my neck yesterday so can't move it properly, had a really bad nights sleep!

    Sorted out bits and pieces in the house to take to the out of school club (not used for over a year, ds's like computer games etc not art and crafts) - had to sort it out because at the end of the week we pick up our new KITTEN! :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j

I thought that if I don't sort some things out we might never see her again - buried under a mountain of paint etc!

The only problem is the rest of the house is a bit of a mess so thats my job after work!

Huge hugs to Tiptoes and Bargainrzl . Men eh? Sometimes I wish I was on my own too regardless how much I love him, how come I never have any problems with the kids when I am on my own?

Washing machine is on, dry washing folded and taken upstairs, the hallway is cleared of all stuff that doesn't belong there, the dining room no longer resembles a laundry. All I need to do is put the washing away properly, hoover and clean the kitchen floor :D

Thanks moggins :) The thing is I'm basically just a much happier person on my own - but if I was without him I'd feel like part of me was missing IYKWIM??? It's like being a chocolate addict that's allergic to chocolate...

Morning all, I should be at work today but I had an awful night, I hardly slept and was boiling hot all night. I got up for work and nearly fell over because I was so dizzy, I had a shower and was so tired it took me twice as long, then I went to get dressed and just couldn't do it so I called in sick and got back in bed. I so rubbish when I call in as I only work two days a week anyway! :o I didn't really over do it this weekend either and I spent the whole day yesterday at home resting, grrr.

Well today is going to be a very slow day I think, i'll probably surf the net for a bit then have another shower and get dressed. I'll probably then lay on the bed for the day and I might take some ebay pictures later if I feel up to it.

    Breakfast was cereal and toast
Lunch will be ryvita and cheese
Dinner will be falafel and salad in pitta with hummous, yum!

I hope you all have a good day, hugs to all that need them.

Where has all this energy come from?

All the laundry is done, dried and folded, tonights tea is cooked. My sink is shiny, the ground floor and the stairs are hoovered, the bathroom has been cleaned, toilet, bathroom and kitchen floors washed (on my hands and knees with a micro cloth) the telly has been wiped down with fabric conditioner, the kitchen surfaces all cleaned down and the hallway cleared of all clutter. Wonder what I can do this afternoon :D

Aaah, that's reserved for clearing up DD's room which will probably take me the rest of the week ;)
