Jumble sales-Havent been to one in ages and ages, can you still get items of clothing and other stuff really cheapily at them:confused:
Perhaps you'll be able to let us know after you've been this afternoon? Maybe add your experience to a recent thread on Old Style Jumble Sales

Good morning everybody, just drinking my first cup of coffee and having a quick read through. I am not going anywhere hot and sunny but OH and I are off to France tonight for a few days. I lay in bed last night listening to the wind blowing and imagining what the 6 hour overnight journey from Poole to Cherbourg would be lilke!! It sounded like a real hoolie (sp?) was blowing :( Have a good week all and I will catch up next week

    Good morning all

Sun's shining here this morning - blumming cold but nice to see a bit of blue sky!

DH has gone to work for a few hours, both DD's are lounging in bed eating toast and watching tv and the house is all clean and tidy (did it all yesterday and it's not been visited by the messy fairy over night as normal)

No real plans for today - might drag the sewing machine out for a bit, found some old pillows in the loft and want to try and make some bolster cushions for DD's room, going to make her a laundy bag too, fed up of nagging her to take her washing out.

Going to make a start on mothers day cards and some easter ones while I've got a spare afternoon too.

Anyway - have a good one all.

Brekkie - toasted HM rolls with marmite
Lunch - Wraps with grilled cheese and tomato
Dinner - Chicken curry (DH will make it when he gets home)

    Morning all

Hope everyone is well this morning

    Miami - lucky you Brokenwings

Happy Birthday VickyA - have lovely day

PP - you must be pleased to be getting your stairlift fitted on Monday - it will make your life so much easier

(((ASG))) - sorry about your father

Well so far I have emptied DW, hung out one load of washing and will do the bed clothes when OH is up. Everyone is still in bed - I love this time at the weekend - time for me

Apple_mint - that breakfast sounds lovely - I dont like porridge but could probably eat oats like that - will put on my list for shopping next time

Went to a halal butchers yesterday - got 2lb of chicken thighs, 2lbs of diced chicken breast and 2lbs of lamb for £8 - thought that was a good buy. Got a lovely ham hough yesterday also - now I have lovely big pot of soup - SC was on all night and the meat is lovely - just falling off the bone.

Going to have a marathon cooking session today - plans to make are

Cannelloni - one for dinner tonight and one for freezer
Lamb and chickpea curries - two (for freezer)
Chicken in white wine sauce - two (for freezer)
beef in red wine sauce - (two for freezer)
Chicken and chickpea curry - one for freezer.
Banana loaf - will need to look for the recipe
    Oaty biscuits

In between all this DSD has to get dropped of at the Fort as she is staying with a friend tonight - might have a wander round the shops there - but have no spare money so may just stay chained to the cooker.

It is OH birthday tomorrow and his sister is coming for dinner (she will take DSS home as OH wants to watch the Scottish Cup final and have a drink) - I think I will be making the shoulder of lamb I got reduced the other night - not 100% sure.

off for a surf then a read of the papers before the masses descend

    Take care all

    Love

    Good morning everyone,

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICKYA
Brokenwings - holiday in Miami, how lovely, reminds me that our holiday is in 13 weeks time (not that im counting!!!)
ASG - ((((Hugs)))) re your dad
PP - hope you do get out later
Queenie - lovely to see you posting, hope you are well!!!!

Well, im still doing my Marlon Brando impression, mouth still hurting so still eating and drinking through a straw, the dentist did say it would prob be worse for 48 - 72 hours after before it starts getting better. Must admit, i dont mind the pain or the swelling, its the fact im having trouble talking and smiling thats getting me down!!! Never mind, it needed doing and should be a lot better in the next few days. My friend is also still in hospital, but they are making good noises about her maybe coming home today, so fingers crossed there.
DS has his normal football match this morning, think its a 10.30 kick off, so will be home nice and early. Trouble is, i know its very cold out there, but i might get away with waiting in the car today, due to the old mouth!!!
Nothing much else planned for today, hopefully a nice relaxing afternoon!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning everyone
I was up early this morning too...worrying about 2 interviews I have for clinical psychology courses at the end of the month. I really don't feel prepared for them and have so much on at the moment that I am just not having time to prepare :( I just know that I won't get on this year but it is also important that I don't look a total idiot at the interviews because I would want to get interviews again next year, they are so very hard to get.
Oh well, I will try and do some prep this weekend, as well as keeping the house tidy in case we get any viewings. We have had 5 this week and only one couple have sold their house so could possibly make an offer...I am pretty annoyed about the estate agents keep sending people who have not sold or who aren't even on the market yet. I am going to pop in and see them when I go to the butchers today.
We have friends coming round tonight for pizza (getting that from the take away) but I will be cooking the chips, garlic bread, southern fried chicken, onion rings etc. I also want to have a look for a new recipe to try tomorrow...I like to cook one new recipe each weekend :D
I might also make another coconut cake later for tonight or some muffins...I am getting into this baking lark.
Have a great saturday everyone :)
