oohh! this is my first time ever opening the daily thread.

well morning all - this is so non OS but im typing to you from my balcony in miami -

    REALLY!
its just after 9pm here - was supposed to be staying with a dear friend tonight BUT after a 9 hour flight i arrived at the airport to hear she is in labour!!

so- i am waiting with bated breath - having a delicious chicken fajita and a bottle of red while watching the ( noisy and hectic) world go by 30 floors below.

if truth be told id be happier at home in my own bed with tomorrows bread dough in the fridge and my slow cooker on timer!!

sold my tumble dryer on ebay for £50 tonight so am very pleased - it will pay for my hair cut and colour on monday.

sounds a bit silly comeing from a realtively low vOlume poster and relative newbie - but i miss you guys anD your comraderie and support for one another.

be good and have a fantastic weekend and i hope youre all well - hugs to all whether you need them or not -

Oh BrokenWings, you don't half know how to make a girl jealous! It doesn't sound too much hardship living it up in Miami, though I do know what you mean when you mention missing your own place. Enjoy the sunshine cos you're not going to get too much of that when you get back! I hope your friend is OK, she's going to wake up as a Mommy...gosh...

    A little bird tells me it's VickyA's birthday today....so.....
   !!Happy birthday to VickyA!!

Have a fabulous day, spoil yourself, make OH spoil you, put your feet up and let the housework wait (or get OH to do it).

I don't have too much to report right now, it being the middle of the night and what have you. At the moment I am having my habitual mid-sleep wakening session, you could almost set your watch by it.

Well, no point in yakking about nowt! Have a lovely weekend everyone.

:j  Happy, happy Birthday, Vicky A  :j

((Hope you have a super duper day))
:hello: Good Morning fellow OS'er :D

broken wings - oooooh, how very exciting!! :j :j Hope your friend and baby are both well!! :D:D Let us know when you know ;)

Snowy - Your mid-sleep waking session is contagious today  Hope you enjoyed your St P's Day :) Last weekend I went to Covent Garden for the Irish Market and aside from the tastings bought some Irish cheese and soda bread which I enjoyed munching yesterday in honour of St P's :D

On my To-Do List this weekend (not very exciting, I admit!):
    • Spring clean the inside of the car (the sun is showing up all kinds of dirt :o )
    • clean of the boys room and finish bagging some of their stuff for GiveGet
    • clean my desk (it's a right mess! :o )
    • have a play with my sewing machine
    • inventory of the pantry/fridge
There's a charity Boot Fair on this weekend so I might take a nosey depending on how well I do with clearing clutter (to make room for more? LOL )

((hugs)) for those who need them.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Morning Brokenwings, morning Snowyowl, morning Queenie :hello:

    Morning everyone :hello:

Wow what interesting lives everyone is leading. Just work and shopping with me this week. I am going for a haircut this morning though ... and the farmers market is on :D

I'm going to try and set some time aside this weekend to have a really good meander through MSE ... I tend to stay in OS and only occassionally put my head into the other areas. OS is my comfort zone. I'm sure I'm missing lots of interesting things.

    Breakfast: oats, yogurt and fruit
Lunch: Haven't got a clue yet
    Dinner: might be salmon

Have a lovely OS day everyone!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Morning apple_mint :D

Oh do have a good nosey around MSE, you're missing out on Freebies, Coupons, not to mention DIY advice .. then of course there are the Utilities Boards which could save you on your Telephone, Gas/Elec etc.

Thanks for the breakfast idea! I hadn't really thought too much about food today and your oats sound tempting

Enjoy having your hair done and a meander around the Farmers Market :):):)

I was having fruit (mixture of tinned fruit - mandarines / peaches - apple, banana and grapes etc) topped with greek yoghurt while on holiday. It was lovely so I made up of tub of mixed fruit and topped each portion with HM yogurt. I missed my porridge so I started adding some oats (dried) to the bowl first. It makes a lovely creamy / fruity / oatie mix. :D I feel like I'm on holiday everyday!

  • Morning Everyone!

    Miami.....how fabulous! Dead jealous:rolleyes:

Slept well last night and feel a little more revived today, but still going to take it easy.

WM is on, OH emptied DW, toilet cleaned and whole house clean and sparkly from yesterday. Think 2 washloads today at least as I only managed 1 lot of bedding yesterday.

There are 3 jumble sales in the Bromley area this afternoon, so may suggest going out for a couple of hours as Ive been in all week and going abit stir crazy...will depend if hubby is OK to push me around in chair. Then we've been invited round BIL's for dinner as they have OH's cousin/family down and we can all catch up with the gossip:D

Jumble sales-Havent been to one in ages and ages, can you still get items of clothing and other stuff really cheapily at them:confused:

OH is hopefully popping to Lidls to get some more half price verg and fruit. We need spuds, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, brocolli, parsnips, apples, bananas, pears, milk, coleslaw and ham. I need to get to an Aldis soon as well as Im running low on tinned toms, beans, kidney beans, sweetcorn, mushy peas ans there beautiful thick white bread which is only 25p and normally buy 10 loaves at a time and stick in freezer. Dont know if theres any Bromley way??? Will have a look in a while.

    Breakie:Bacon, beans and toast
    Lunch:Baked Spud, cheese and coleslaw
    Dinner:Eating out at family's

Right, best go as post has just turned up.

    Hugs to all.

I was going to use up some fresh fruit by nibbling it on it's own as a snack!! (I bought it reduced 99p down to 25p )

Instead we've just shared a holiday breakfast :rotfl:
Thanks for describing it, seems I did it right - I conjured up some misers muesli using the fresh fruit and added natural yogurt .. next time, I'll use greek yogurt
