Hi all, I didn't quite make it on here before mid day. But I have done 1 load in the WM & am about to put second load on & made a loaf in the BM. Then it's on with all the usual chores, I'll vac & dust both the lodgers room & put clean bedding on. I also have loads of paper work to sort through. I have a few empty folders & boxes so I may have an Anthea moment, I also want to sort out all my books & sort out which ones I want to pass on. I just wish I had more energy, lol. Still the Easter hols are soon & I may just temp for one of the weeks & spend the other week on an organising binge. I have at least managed to get enough money together to pay off the £400 phone bill my stepson ran up while he was with us. But last night I had a phone call from the mortgage company to tell me I was in arrears!!! It turned out to be a mistake, the 2nd time in 3 months they have had a computer glitch, so I've asked for a statement as I get so worried every time it happens. It's bad enough having money problems without them imagining some.
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs & blessings to all.

Hello everyone!
Brokenwings, how wonderful to be keeping in touch from Miami! The world isn't so big is it? Have a brilliant time and best wishes from all OSers to your friend and the new baby.
Queenie, enjoy the boot fair and swapping old clutter for new clutter. Thanks again for your kind words last week.
Apple mint, that breakfast sounds fab!
Hope everyone else enjoys their OS day too!
I'm just eating my lunch of Home Bargains 19p noodles. I'm on a super-saving mission at the moment as I need to biuld up my savings to take a sabbatical this year. Well, that's the plan anyway.
Had some great news yesterday. We have got a refund of £316 from our skiing holiday this year. OK I know it's not very OS! We booked a family room and paid a supplement for it, but we only got a twin room with an extra folding bed for DS. Truth is, it was adequate for us as we didn't spend much time in there, but on principle I wrote a very polite, nice letter when we returned. I had an acknowledgement a couple of weeks ago but I was dead chuffed when I got the offer of the refund! If you don't ask, you don't get!
Plans for the weekend include clearing some clutter out of the loft for either ebay or charity shop. I'm going to see if I can have a no spend weekend. We went out last night, but I drove so OH paid for the drinks. It was a works do so lots of people bought me drinks too. OK, only coke, but I didn't spend anything!
Had a bit of a shock this week. I bought a car from my brother last summer and I was speaking to him during the week and he asked if the car had passed its MOT ok. MOT? I hadn't had it tested!  It ran out on 1st February, so for 6 weeks I have had no MOT, and consequently my insurance would have been invalid. Yikes! Anyway, I booked it in immediately and it passed no problems. I have a diary entry now to remind me.
I fancy doing some baking too. I think I'll do some lovely cakes. Mmmmm....
Have a great day everyone.

After my busy day yesterday decided this morning to crack on with re-arranging my sewing room, cooking HM soup at the same time, had to set the kitchen timer to remind me that the soup was on. I wanted to move the table over under the window so I can use both sides, rather than where it was butting up to the wall, more light on the sewing surface, as well as being able to cut on the opposite side to the machine.
OH was at the allotment digging the spud bed....... he said it was freezing when he stopped digging, so the soup was very welcome.
Have to finish off my sewing room, which means stripping and moving two book cases...one full of books..... oh well........it will keep me out of mischeif whilst OG watches Scotland v Italy.

Afternoon all
Happy birthday VickyA :bdaycake: and best of luck to brokenwings's friend
PP - I think there might be an Aldi in Bromley. There's certainly one in Catford - I used to live near there.
Am having a lazy day - loads to do but no energy. I MUST tone down my social life and sort out my sleep patterns, because as is increasingly the case on Saturdays, I didn't wake up until noon  Even though it's getting on for 2pm I'm still in me £5 bargain luxury Debenhams cotton dressing gownwatching the quali for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
This is turning into an expensive month.
I almost had a totally bargainous day yesterday (spending only 60p on a newspaper) but then blew almost £10 at the last minute  Until then, everything had been going great! I'd come straight from BF's to work in the morning and was running late so didn't stop for a bacon sarnie, but had some Oatso Simple that had been languishing in my desk drawer instead. Thought I was going to have to have a takeaway lunch but there was loads of grub left over from a meeting so I got 2 rounds of sandwiches for free, also it was somebody's birthday so I also had a doughnut and mini flapjack! After a long hard day at work I was almost resigned to spending £5-odd on a big glass of wine at the hotel bar next to the office but me and my colleague got there and somebody we barely know was having a leaving doso one of the directors had put his credit card behind the bar
. THEN went to a show with GBF (paid for in advance) and the programme was provided free
THEN went to the pub for a St P's pint of Guinness and it was GBF's round (don't mind doing "rounds" with him cos we go out together so often that we always remember whose turn it is!). So up until this point, I'd had a day when I could potentially have spent about £18 and had actually spent 60p
Then we decided to stay for another round (mine) and then I was so hungry on the way home that I had to have a takeawayTotal spend £9.59
It's BF's birthday tomorrow and he has taken himself off to Paris to watch the rugby - well it's his cash not mine, and he can afford to. He's back tomorrow and we'll be getting together for a meal. His birthday presents from me will be a DVD (The French Connection 1 & 2 - bargain £7.99 from Blah DVD) and a book (Gavin Henson: My Grand Slam Year - £11.something from Amazon - 40% off!) I know he actually wants both these things so no risk of him not liking them
Right. I can't believe it's 2pm on a Saturday and I have done NOTHING. Here's the to do list - I'll let you know how I get on:
1. WM on - prob 3 times (darks, lights, towels/bedding)
2. Off to the high street for the newspaper and to pop into Lidl for some spuds - making a fish pie tonight.
3. Tidy up
4. Wash up lunchboxes
5. Make fish pie
Those are the essentials - will do more if possible. Catch you later.

I'm back, lol. Got washing on the line as it's sunny here. I'll be looking for a new lodger soon, as one of mine is leaving, her contract is up in 2 weeks. She's very nice, but nuttier than a squirrels f*rt. She is divorced, but not getting over it & so tends to treat hubby like the devil incarnate. And he's such a sweetie, everytime she gives me the rent she waits till he's not around & urges me to hide it, seems to think he's gonna take it off me! Still at least she speaks english, the last lodger was italian & could only say bus & good! The mind is like a parachute, it works best when open0
