Hi all! Haven't posted for a while as I've been ill with a virus and poor MIL has been very ill in hosp - she had an infection which caused her to hallucinate  Thankfully she is much better and was allowed home yesterday. DH is going to visit her early next week, but I think I'll stay home until I'm properly better as we were warned that as it's happened to her once, it may well happen any time she gets an infection in the future, so I daren't risk passing any germs on to her!
P-P So glad you had a better night. Probably just as well you didn't go out today - this wind is wicked! I know what you mean about being stir-crazy though.
Vicky A Happy Birthday! So nice to have a birthday on a day when you're not at work. My DS's is on the May Bank hol this year. He only ever had to go to school on his birthday once, when it was the Queen's Golden Jubilee and they shifted the half-term holiday forward by a week!
((((((HUGS)))))) to all who are in pain, ill or sad at the moment.

I'm back from town. Was lazy in the end and didn't go to Lidl, I only needed spuds from there so I got them from Tesco's instead with all my other shopping
.
Got a good haul of stuff including a bag of wrecked bananas and some prepared stir-fry veg. So I'm off to the kitchen in a few mins to start a cooking session - the planned fisherman's pie (which I think I'll box up for next week's meals) and a banana loaf, then I think I'll have chicken stir-fry with noodles for dinner. Also courtesy of Mr Tesco's yellow stickers, I managed to get a pack of raisin and cinnamon bagels and a ciabatta. Just about managed to find space to jam them in the freezer. They should do for some tasty breakfasts.
Right, Inspector Morse has finished and so has the WM by the sounds of it. Onwards and upwards
Edited to say: darn it, I forgot to buy any eggsso the banana bread will have to wait. Just called housemate to ask him to pick some up for me on the way home from his shop, cos I can't be doing with going out again

After the great sausage famine of yesterday, today's dinner was a triumph!
I was making chicken and salad wraps. I had marinaded some chicken breasts in honey, lemon & garlic when DH had to put his oar in and whine about wanting Fajita chicken instead. So, I fried off the chicken and chucked the Fajita mix on top at the last minute. Tasted great! Sort of smokey and BBQ-ish.
So, I assembled the wraps (50p for 10 reduced in Asda) with shredded lettuce, cucumber, spring onion and the cold chicken, sliced small.
Made some potato wedges with garlic & rosemary and served.
Clean plates all round and no complaints. In fact, DS commented that "these wraps are FABULOUS!". Not a peep about the fact that he was eating ~shudder~ lettuce.Getting DH to eat potatoes was a minor miracle, too.
Gee .. how often do we write about our men being picky about what they'll eat, sometimes even more so than the children! So often, I see folks say "DH eating out tonight, so I can have .. insert food of choice .." Must be in the genes ....:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Morning all
No one starting the thread then? Guess it's my job this morning.
I've been out in the garden with my coffee and although it's very cold there are visible signs that spring is here. I have loads of catkins on my Hazelnut tree and !!!!!willow!! I'm hoping that the day will warm up and DH will get out of bed so I can do some digging.
The washing machine is on and the dishwasher loaded but not switched on as there is not a lot in there.
Will potter around today doing the pre-school things and might even hoover if I have the energy
Have a good day everyone.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning moggins :hello:
I'm having a cup of green tea and slowing coming to LOL
Haven't braved the garden this morning but I have seen the steady growth from a clematis from my kitchen window since January. Bit overcast here so I won't be putting gardening on my list
My List today is pretty much the same as yesterday due to getting sidetracked and only managing to tidy my desk and a bit in the boys room
Wishing everyone a slooooow and easy Sunday ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
