Hi Yall, what a bad time you all seem to be having today. if your day is not as good as it should be sneak a ((HUG)) from me.
A bright, not too cold day here in the emids. The house is currently full of the smeall of Roasted root Vegetable Pasta Bake and honey and mustard Roast chicken. I'm having a bit of a cook-off so I have some things ready-cooked to take to the coast this weekend which will save me having to do battle with the !!!!!! old gas cooker I have over there. I've also cobbled together a lasagne and have prepped some jacket spuds for tonights dinner. I must admit my lunchtime cuppa soup did not seem to appetising after smelling roast chicken. LOL
Laundry and paid2clicks are all done so I've just got to heft the vac around downstairs before I run up to school. Two MATHLETTS have afterschool activities today so won't come home until 5 so the house should stay reasonably tidy until them.
Is it me or has kiwiwchick gone to ground? I don't remember reading any posts from her for a bit! If you're reading KiwiHi.
FUNKFAIRY Why don't you set up an account with an internet/post bank. I also get a few payments by cheque and have no banks in the village anymore so I post all mine off in pre-paid envelopes. I can recomend Cahoot whom I have banked with for about 4 years.
Catowen Hope the situation improves with your friend.
Michelle Give him a big kiss when he gets home and all will be forgiven I'm sure. Hormones - I'm so glad I ain't gotem. hehehehe
Moggins I feel for ya chicken. I had the same probs in Nov/Dec fortunately it wasn't too parky then. Hope it gets sorted soon.
Mossy Nice to have you back in OSville.
Ladygrey Ooops, hope you're on the mend soon.
Poshpaws Consider your bum kicked. LOL We all have those days and the world keeps turning.
Have a good/improving day one and all

MATH - I'm assuming that Kiwi won't be back on line with any regularity until they're settled into the new house - they're all squeezed into their rellies' place until the place is available for them to move in.

Well day didnt go as planned, I must have your oomph Poshpaws, as have the SC on with beef stew in and the upstairs is gleeming, just having a quick coffee and going to get stuck into the downstairs. Kids in afterschool till 5, so plenty of time.
I might pick some self raising flour up while getting the kids and make black saturns cobbler for desert, as plannning to make muffins for the rest of the weeks packed lunches.GC: £400/ £00 -
Hi all - first time I've looked at this "daily thread". Bless you all - you're a great crowd and I'm sure I can give you some of my energy (after all, it's gone somewhere).
I had a rotten night too, mouth abcess decided to form which kept me awake till six. Slept till 11 though (not unusual for me). Have done zilch, nothing, nowt today except make myself coffee and cuddle some cats (others are jealous now). Taking one to the vet this evening, and apart from that, all I'm doing today is carrying on writing out the pattern for the crochet sleeves I have designed ready to sell on ebay (or somewhere, anywhere!). Carpet needs vacuuming (with 19 cats I can say that every 10 minutes), but other than that, the house is sparklingThat Justin hubby of mine is a real gem - he works full-time, looks after us all here, AND does most of the housework/cooking too.
Hugs to you all - hope your days end up marvellous.

Hiya - it must be the small wafting on that gentle breeze from Chez MATH, cos we aint having jacket spuds tonight - it's a chicken dinner and we'll have roasties with it. It's currently slow-cookering as I type.
I've completely bottomed the living room (again) with the 'help' of DS2. I decided to attack the settee with the hoover attachments (it's got fixed cushions) but decided I'd tipit onto it's back as I find it shifts all those bits to where you can get them. I've decided I'll have to buy a large stapler so that I can take the fabric away from the base of th esettee and see what artifacts lie within (probably find Lord Lucan living it up with a lost tribe from Borneo, living off packets of dried spaghetti DS2 insists on pushing down there, and partying with me missing crochet hook :rotfl: I could hope for a few lost diamonds and the rest of the Kent millions - but I fear that won't be the case)
Both fish tanks are now gleaming and all me little fishes are smiling. They've put their oxygen masks away and are now revelling in what I have informed them is called 'sunlight' (Ok, they weren't that bad - don't set CQ or squeaky onto me) My rads are full of washing and the machine is glugging away with a load of whites. I'm just having a hot drink then I shall sally forth to collect DS2 and his friend from pre-school at 3.
All my windows still need doing (cos the boys 'cleaned them the other day) but I'm sure they'll wait till tomorrow (or Friday - it's a take mum here and there day tomorrow)
Have fun everyone

Hi everyone!
Much quieter day today which comes as a relief after all the rushing about I've done in the last 48 hours!
Completed another mock exam this morning which seemed to go well so I am hopeful for the real thing next week. If I can pass it I will get my full qualification I've been working towards for work over the last 15 months.
Car has gone in for its MOT today- we've used the local govt testing centre as suggested by :money: ! so here's hoping for a good result!
Had a "fascinating" evening last night totting up the value of our household contents with a view to swapping insurance providers and I think it will also be cheerio Powergen as well :j
Tonight I'm going to be a good girl and cook both tonight's and tomorrow's tea at the same time in the oven....I can't believe I've just told you that but I suppose it's in keeping with the OS ethos!!
Hoping to catch up with the taped episode of Planet Earth this evening and then get back to 'Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell' which my friend has lent me- rather like Jane Austen only with magicians in it! :rotfl:

Thanks for the various bum kicks! I found some oomph I'd been storing for a day just like today and managed to get some bread made, do the dishes, put the BM on for pizza dough, tidy up the birdies and run around collecting various bits of useless paper from various items of furniture for the recycling bin.
I also put the WM on with some bed linen in it - but I am guessing I'm right in thinking that it really shouldn't be sparking on the INSIDE of the drum - yep, the wet bit - when its spinning, eh? I rang the engineer and he's coming out on Monday, so I'll have to watch it like a hawk in the meantime!
Right, 5 minutes of vacuuming before DS and DH get back from the school pickup.
Same rules for bum-kicking apply as before - help yourselves.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Dd crawled in to the bed with me and DH at 5a.m. as her appendix scar was hurting her.
Feel a bit bleary as my left eye seems to be developing a stye- have bathed the eye and applied eye ointment so am sitting here winking madly lol;)
Have the quiche I made yesterday for tea or can do stuffed tortillas if DDs rebel!
DH is away overnight but cannot really take advantage of his absence to watch late night t.v. or read as I can hardly see!
DD has been on the computer most of the day and in another hour her sister will want to be on here so I am typing as fast as I can.
Hugs to everyone who is sleepy and feeling they are not with it today."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon!
OH & I have had a barny:o about nothing really, but think we're finding it so stressful ATM with him looking after me and me expecting so much all the time. I just feel so frustrated, I hate being like this, having him do most things for me, asking him all the time to help me:mad: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
Sorry for moaning!
Anyway, have been on the sofa most of the day. A washload is drying on the airer. Large bag of spuds peeled and part-bolied for the freezer to make roasties at a future time. Kitchen all clean and sparkly.
OH has picked DD up from school then switching her library book and paying 2 cheques into the bank from ebay-£17.50:j
Had her new brochure through for her new school for september, and we are now worrying again about the costing of her uniform and other bits she needs. She needs more than we thought including soccer boots, shin pads and some other bits. Seem to have so much going on ATM. Car is due for its MOT next month and car insurance is due. Debt free date has been put back again to June/July and with the other stuff needed for school it may be the end of the year.
I will do some more pondering and if it comes to it will ask family to chip in as it will all add up and her education is priority and will be an investment to the future:D If they dont, then it will be put on the 0% free CC.
Sorry for the moaning, but have done some OS'ing today.
