    Hi all
A very late post from me. My son dropped in unexpectedly, so threw together BS's cobbler as I'd only done Cottage pie & veg for tea, and it worked a treat. It's been very cold here but still no snow. I have a loaf in the BM & now have to sit up till it's cooked, lol. I should have set the timer, but too late now. Hope every one has a good night. Hugs to all.

Brokenwings : The Treacle People is a kids programme shown by Channel 4. They've got a website at http://www.treaclepeople.co.uk/ if you want to find out more! :) The programmes were very simple, but incredibly funny and the humour is very sophisticated. DH is entranced by the whole thing and laughs his silly head off at it.

sounds like some people have had bad days - hope a good night's sleep will make things better. catowen - hope your friend's scan went well, was thinking of her earlier!

I cannot wait until lots of students go home for easter - work is just crazy at the moment!! I have tried to be organised tonight (clothes out on the radiator to put on something warm since the hosue is just soooo cold, defrosting sausages to put in the SC tomorrow morning for a casserole - if they even defrost in this temp!) to make tomorrow a little better. i still have a pile of ebay things to list but only seem to get to them when my brain has stopped working for the evening!

sleep well everyone - hugs all round to those who need them (particularly tiptoes and poshpaws - any sorry to anyone else who i left out, can't think very well at this time of night!)

Brokenwings - I live about 5 miles from Sabden :D We used to talk about the treacle mines when we were kids - used to confused visiting kids no end, cos they thought it just came out of tins. How silly - of course it's mined :rotfl:

I never knew they'd made a tv prog about it. I'm going to watch this (although I have to say,the accents are a little dubious for Sabden. Think more - Janice Battersby :))

Had fun and games here earlier. Next door's 9yo was running around my living room when he decided to kick the radiator. Why? - it must be a boy thing. I had to go and get his dad to piggy-back him home cos the lad swore blind it was broken - it did look funny too. Thing is - he's Mr Football-crazy. Whoops :)

Off to bed now - still no snow - which will whizz off the kids - but I want them all at school tomorrow - mystery shopping job to do for one thing :D

    Have a good night.

    Hello everyone!

Sorry I haven't been OSing much lately, have been a bit preoccupied with other things.

I've been off work this past couple of days as my head has been in a right tizz. On Friday I was sleeping standing up - v.weird sensation as you can imagine feeling like you're nodding off even though you're walking down the street. This was a result of my persistant insomnia (which I've got right now...grrrr...haven't been to sleep yet!!!) and so I took a few days to try and get myself together. It's not really working, hence I am still up in the middle of the night looking at MSE! I think the cause of my insomnia is that the course I am doing is preying on my mind. It's ridiculous but sometimes when I wake in the middle of the night the first thing I reach for is a textbook of some description. Of course there are one or two lying on my bed between me and the cats on an almost permanent basis. This course is to help me get into university, but do you think I could hack a degree? hmmm, I don't think so...

So, I'm off to work in the morning, tizzy head or no tizzy head. It's a hard old life.

TBH I haven't read the threads in too much detail lately. KiwiChick is of course conspicuous by her absence, I wonder how her move went and how she's getting on with her in-laws. She'll be glad to get her new roof over her head.

PP - I gather you have been less than 100%. Oh you poor wee thing PP. I know you are good and do what the medics say - please keep doing that.

BrokenWings...you're so good looking after that little abandoned kitty. I hope she has a new home (sounds like it) and that she's got a few happy years left.

On Saturday I was so tired I bought a massive bar of Lindt chocolate and gobbled it down with two cups of v.strong coffee. That will help me sleep NOT of course, but it was flipping lovely and gave me an energy boost for nearly three minutes. I've not conciously been off chocolate but it must be about two months since I have bought any and boy was it good!

Oh yea, I took some pics of my kitchen - I've got a damn expensive fancy SLR which uses film - I want the same camera but in digital but it costs about £2k!!! Until I've got £2k I'll be sticking with film, so it'll be a few days before I can post my pictures. FunkyFairy, you were inspired when you started that thread...it's had about 20,000 views already! What a load of nosey parkers we are!

See you all later, happy Wednesday everyone.

'morning SnowyOwl .. sorry to hear you aren't sleeping well. I know the feeling, I was just the same when doing my degree. I thinks it's all down to the expectations we place on ourselves. I'm still the same about work. Too busy trying to achieve 100% when all around me everyone is doing 75% and are a lot happier!

    'morning everyone :hello:

Decided to review the cupboards yesterday and ended making sardine fishcakes for tea (mashed potato, mashed sardines(with tomato sauce), chopped spring onions and parsley). OH insisted that he doesn't like sardines but changed his mind rapidly on eating the fishcakes ... they were delicious. Served them with salad and tartare sauce and after reading one of the other threads - crispy potato peelings (now they were nice). I made BS's fruit cobber (apple and cinamon) and served it with HM yoghurt. What a scrummy meal it was. All the ideas came from OS and it must have been a very economical meal. I haven't a clue how much the sardines were as I picked them up by mistake in the supermarket thinking they were mackerel.

Have a lovely OS day everyone!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Good morning Snowy owl and PP, sorry you are both having trouble sleeping, and i hope both your days get better!!

Im not a good sleeper either, but i do love my bed so normally can quite happily lie there pretending to sleep (and you never know, it might happen one day!!!) but after my first infusion of steroids yesterday im very restless, so have been up for a couple of hours now, creaping around the house, trying not to wake DS and DD. DD has actually come down now and i will be off to make her some toast in a minute!!! Shes curled up on the sofa at the moment, while i have a quick nosy round MSE.
Ive also had a horrible headache since the infusion, and a sore arm, but as i am only allowed to take parecetamol i think im going to have to suffer it the next few days (i have my second transfusion this afternoon).
My friend has finally had her scan, and not such good news, they think she has had a small bleed on the brain, so she is having to have a lumber puncture later, hopefully i will get to see her later, while im at the hospital. At least she is in the best place, but im still worried.
Dont have loads to do today, two little ones here for most of the day, but im sure the way im buzzing around, i will do loads of things, just waiting for DS to get up before putting the WM on, but might stick the BM on now and i think there is a cup of decaf in the kettle with my name on it!!!
Take care everyone, hope you all have a lovely day.
