SOMO1 - don't worry - I'd just keep feeding it to them - you could always tweak the recipe so that's it's preferable to dh and when they are used to it, change it back if you prefer. They say it takes 15 attempts before you get a taste for something (I forced myself to eat peppers last year because I was missing out on a lot of dishes they were in and now I love them)

In fact - I remember when Mr TM and I got together, I used to make something which he always ate and said 'thanks, that was lovely' when in fact he hated it. His dad had told him it was good manners to do so, but I said he could have thanked me but politely said he didn't like it and I would have stopped making it. However, I can't even remember what it was now so he must have got a taste for it because I don't think I dropped anything from my repertoire :D

Been into Preston and got some bargains - got DS's lots of much needed new clothes and DS1 an alarm clock - big glowing blue digital numbers so he knows when not to wake us :D However, poor old DS2 spent 30 minutes sobbing because he wants one  That's the trouble with being 3 and still able to read the time (ok, certain times eg breakfast time) The budget's taken a hit, but unless I crop them at the knees, it can't be helped :D I have a feeling tomorrow will be spent sorting out wardrobes!

Now, it's saturday night and I'm sure there's a bottle of something somewhere with my name on it. Best go and see. Did someone say there was nothing on tv tonight?

Oh, and Johanne, forgot to say well done on the new job and I'm sure you'll get the hang of the travelling in no time :D

    Hi everyone.

Had quite a quiet day here. Got up early and had to collect a parcel from the sorting office - a test face wash from cosmetic research for me to use and report back on, then I had to go to the post office to post an Amazon parcel. I have just sold an ebay item so that will need packing up later.

Apart from that, I had a visit from a friend whose accounts I have been doing, to go through a few queries I had. I really enjoyed doing it too - I think I might see if I can get a bit of freelance work to earn some cash.

We used up leftovers for lunch and this afternoon I went shopping to Lidl. I spent £38 and that should see us through to the end of the month.

We have just booked a skiing holiday for next January so we need to be saving up for it. OH had a takeaway last night but I declined as I don't want to waste my cash. I have decided to have a career break this summer for around four months so I need to save up so that I don't have to take too much out of my savings to finance it.

TM - Hope you enjoyed coming to Preston. We are getting a Primark store soon so you'll have to make a special trip when it opens!

    Have a good evening everyone.

SOMO1, just keep making it and do not offer any alternative, DD will eat when she is hungry believe me, I had one the same, if she didn't eat what was offered she got nothing else until the next meal....... with 4 of them no way were they going to dicatate to me what they ate and OH just had to put up with it,

I wanted to be a SAHM but finances dictated that I had no choice if we wanted to put shoes on the kids feet..........so I was still OS so they ate what was put in front of them or nothing.

    Evening all

SOMO1 - at TM and Tootles say - stay with it - before I would pander to my stepkids (mainly the girls as DSS would eat anything) and make them what they would eat at their own house - chicken nuggets. super noodles, mini kievs supernoodles, super noodles with supernoodles........I stopped after one day when I was making I think Spag bol and one of the girls asked why I was browning the mince -their mum just cooked it in water  ...well after that I though nope they will eat the same us - never had a problem since...couple of minor changes eg if making spag bol DSD doesnt like herbs so just add some tomato sauce/puree to the browned mince ,,,eats it no problem

Johanne - enjoy the party and good luck on Monday

dinner tonight was chicken thighs marinated in spicy sauce, ribs cooked in HM BBQ sauce, HM pizza and some chicken coated in spicy breadcrumbs - there was only a couple of the thighs left at the end. had a little accident when I brought the thighs out of the oven - the dish with the ribs must have been attached to it and it and they fell to the floor (which had just been scrubbed clean Thank goodness) - OH tidied up the mess on the floor and the ribs where scooped into a serving dish :o:o

Kitchen all gleaming - will try and take photo tomorrow and post in other thread.

Just going to watch Crufts and casualty - waiting for OH to come back from taking kids home with my special medicine - hope it is the red one he gets tonight

    Have a lovely evening all

    Take care

    Hi ALL

well i got back from the middle east late last night - with the most un-OS hangover from hell, having partied for almost 30 hours with a troop of US marines

say no more than it was 'damn fine' : )

today i have been busy baking and have done 1 brown loaf, 1 white , a dozen mixed bread rollls, an apple and mincemeat tart and one victoria sponge

no breakfast or lunch really - steak and chips for dinner with baked apple stuffed with lemon zest and golden syrup with fresh cream for puds

have also started to paint my kitchen - taking a while as i had to sugar soap everything first

have now discovered that my fab new idea for a color scheme WONT go with my curtains sdo if anyone knows a curtain place that has any good offers on at the mo i'd appreciate the tips

off to watch a dvd of 24 right now - theyre a few hours ahead of the uk in the usa and my yankee bf has managed to get his hands on episdoes we havent had here yet -
sweet dreams and hugs to all

    see you tomorrow

    Good evening everyone,

Thank you to everyone who sent get well messages to my friend, went to see her this afternoon, and told her how everyone had been sending lovely messages, and she was really touched. She is still in a lot of pain, and they have her quite drugged up at the moment, so she is very tierd and woozy, but we are quite hopeful that all will be ok, they are not planning on doing the scan until Monday, and the fact she has been in pain for a long time now is seen as a good sign, if it was anything really serious we think it would have shown itself by now, but we still have our fingers crossed.
Went into Plymouth, and got a good deal in Debenhams today, last year i was sold some clinique products that didnt suit my skin, and when i mentioned it to the lady a couple of weeks ago she said to bring it in and they would refund me!!! So today, i went in and they did just that!!!! They did refund it to a Debenhams beauty card, so i have to re spend it in Debenhams, but definatly better than throwing it all in the bin!!! Also managed to get the small chip fryer from Argos that i wanted, so my day has definatly got better!!! :j
Well, going to check DS and DD are in bed now, and going to watch the end of millionaire, and the result show of American idol that i taped last night before i go up the wooden hill to bedfordshire (goodness, i remember my mum saying that many years ago!!!)
Hope everyone has had a good day, and now has a good night.

Hi everyone just a real quickie to say I hope everyone had a good day and has a good Sunday. I'm on DH's laptop as my laptop has finally surrendered and died!!! OH NO!!!

DH ordered new harddrive £58 but my laptop screen is broken and about to snap off at any moment so I've told him not to bother and will look into buying a really really cheap computer tomorrow with a tft as we have no space in our house.

Hopefully will be able to use his laptop in the week when he's out and I don't use it on a Sunday anyway but have a load of things finishing on ebay Monday night!! mind you I think he's out at a meeting so I might be able to use it. I also have some work to do on a spreadsheet that has been emailed to me so not sure how I'm going to manage that yet, computers can't live with them can't live without them!

Anyway enough of my whining I've got a report to submit for a mystery meal which was terrible, had to wait 20 minutes to take get a table (was very busy fair enough) but then 30 minutes to have our order taken!!! even then I had to ask someone....bad report means even more work for me!! oh well.

Take care of yourselves everyone and see you next time DH is out and I can nick his computer lol.
Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!

    Good evening all

I know I should be in bed by now but I've had such a busy day I can't unwind.
Hasn't really been an OS day, buts a good one non-the-less.

Went into Ilkley on the bus this morning, with my Mum. Went and had a coffee for an hour, had a half hour wander, and got the main purpose of our visit done in 20 mins flat. Went and ordered two dresses for me - 1 for my wedding, and 1 for my best friends wedding which is the week after mine. Figured I might as well get them both at the same place (Sugared Almonds Bridal shop) and then the fittings can happen at the same time and everything. :j

Then we came back into Skipton, had lunch at a new Chinese which has just opened (4.95 for two courses) and thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll be going there again.

Then, back here to mine. Had spent last night tidying like a mad thing because I knew Mum was coming back with me  . Oh when will I learn to keep the house reasonably tidy at all times??

We've discussed what to write in the wedding invites, looked at some flower ideas, and generally had a good old chin wag.

I like this getting married malarky I get to spend time with my Mum!

So all in all its been a thoroughly productive day. Now going to collapse in a heap.

    hi everyone
haven't been reading for a few days - must go back and catch up on everything - moggins, hope all is ok with your son, missed the original post but it doesn't sound nice!

catowen - i guess it has to be a good sign that they're happy to wait until monday to do the scan - if they thought it was something really bad then they'd do it right away (i'd hope!).

missed the ebay listing day on thurs because i left the cable to tranfer photos from my camera to the computer at work... veyr annoyed... just glad that the week is over and hopeful that next week will be much quieter (well, i dont' mind being busy with my own work, it's being obliged to fix other people's problems all day that gets tedious!)

about to collapse and fall asleep (my saturday night are just so exciting!) - been trying to find a new bargain for a BM since mine died last week, so so far nothing looks particularly affordable which is a pain. OH is complaining that i'm on here this late so i'll be off - sleep well everyone!
