Hope your friend will be fine Catowen.

I've just seen DH off on a week's ski-ing holiday (not my idea of fun - if I can't wear shorts and be warm it's not a holiday!!), so a lonely week in store for me. I'm going to spend it being as MS and OS as I can. Haven't spent any of March's food budget yet, though I'll need to get some fruit and veg this weekend.
Off out soon to post some Amazon parcels, then to a jumble sale with inlaws. After that I'll just see how the day develops!

PS just noticed it's been a year since I joined MSE. Where did that go?!

morning everyone :hello: ...is gorgeous and sunny here today...but forecast for rain later, hoepfully it will stay dry though

parents are coming to visit today, so yesterday was spent tidying my room and have given the kitchen and bathrooms a once-over today. Nt sure what I'm going to do with parents though, if it stays dry then we'll probably head down to the beach, but if its wet...

my laptop is still broken, so not been reading as much OS as I would like, so apologies if I've missed anything important.

catowen, hope your friend is ok
have a good day all, and hugs to those that need them

Morning all, Haven't posted in a few days, hope all's well - Haven't had a chance to read all of the daily threads. My new Kenwood Chef arrived on Wednesday and I haven't been out of the kitchen since :rotfl: I can tell already that we have become life long friends LOL!

Not long up which is lovely, kids been watching telly in lounge, OH still sleeping, he was on night shift - Its soooo hard keeping kids quiet!

Got loads of washing and drying to do today - it seems to be a nice morning so hopefully will get some outside on the line rather than in the dryer.
Not much planned for today, am going to get my eyebrows waxed later (ouch) but apart from that  I might get round to planting some mini daffs in pots at my front door - they have been sitting on the doorstep in a cardboard box for about 3 weeks now, never seem to get a chance to get to them. maybe i should just fill the box with soil :rotfl:

Going to make BS Fruit Cobbler today, any suggestions on what fruit works best? I have a tin of blackcurrants and a tin of peaches in the cupboard - I'm not keen on peaches though - everyone else is!

    B:Porridge and some strawberries/melon
L: not sure, possibly dutch cakes with philadelphia (well, tesco's version ;) )
D:SW chips (cut into cubes) with a tiny amount of sweet chilli sauce over them, mmmmmmmm! Think I may treat myself so a little bit of salmon with it - Its a green day today, can you tell?!

Made some homemade pizza's last night for kids and OH. If I make more dough today ( in my new mixer of course) can I freeze it? Or does it keep ok in fridge - i was planning to make some more so I had it handy for a night next week when DS goes to swimming and dinner is always a rush

Have a good Saturday, catowen I hope your friend is ok, She'll be pleased to see you.
    Take Care everyone x
  • Morning all :hello:

I've been up since 7.00am but have only just managed run my bath, I've been watching American Idol (from last night) :rotfl: DD has had her brekkie (toast) DH has gone to work and I'm about to jump in the bath, get dressed and tackle my house which currently resembles Beirut (sp?)

My shopping's being delivered between 11.00 and 12.00 (let's hope it's late so I can grab a 10 quid voucher off my next shop ;) ) Lunch will be HM tomato soup ala Jamie Oliver and Dinner will be HM pizza ala me :D

We have friends staying with us next Saturday, so I need to make sure the house is really clean, and yes I believe it will take me all week

DD is starting clarinet lessons and her brand new spanking clarinet arrived yesterday (69 quid off ebay, instead of the 300 quid the people that do the lessons charge    ) We eagerly opened it all up and then didn't have a clue how to put it all together - I think her teacher can tackle that ;) ) Not entirely happy about all the noise her "practice" is going to make - but at least it's not the trumpet eh :D )

Anyway hugs to all that need them Catowen - hope your friend is okay

    Bye for now

    Jo
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Morning All

Hugs to everyone, especially those that are ill or have loved one in hospital.

Things are quite good in Joannaland this morning. I feel kind of renewed this morning. My lust for life and lust for DH returned last night for pretty much the first time since having DD IYKWIM :o . Hope it continues as it seems to make getting up in the morning so much easier.

With this new found brightness I'm going to push myself out of my comfort zone OS wise so from today I'm aiming to use the dryer only 3 times a week for nappies after they have been on the airer overnight. MIL promised me an airer ages ago, but when I went to collect it FIL fobbed me off because it is under a massive pile of stuff in there garage. But today i will venture forth into the mess and find it myself. The 2nd load is in the WM the 1st is on my piddling little airer and the radiators.

The rest of today is going to be spent working out what I need to defrost to make some batches of food for DD tommorow, making a batch of pizza dough and a batch of tomato sauce for the freezer. Oh and I've just remembered that I need to see my dad before he goes to New York on Monday. DH has requested Fajita for tea so hes making them so quiet a lazy day in all.

    Breakie: Porridge
    Lunch: Cheese toastie
    Tea: Fajitas

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all :)

TM - Your kitchen draw of no return tickled me this morning lol. :rotfl:

Catowen - I hope your bessie mate is alright, fingers crossed they'll be able to find out what the problem is and treat it quickly and easily. Well done on the ebay sales as well. :)

VickyA - I hope your dad is up and well again soon, the weather in Lincoln is alright at the moment just a little bit overcast so hopefully you and your mum won't get rained on before you go up to see your dad. :)

As of yesterday 4:20pm I have a new Nephew :D whose name is currently undecided. He was born at Lincoln County yesterday and they left last night so are all home now...talk about quick turn around makes my stay with munch sound like a holiday lol. :o Can't meet him yet because we are all streeming with this cold so will be sometime next week probably....must remember to think of random things when I give him a cuddle others my boobies will try to produce milk to feed him no doubt  made that mistake with my godson. I'd stopped breast feeding munch the month before, gave godson one cuddle the day he was born the next day they were full and ready to feed...not very impressed  I couldn't cuddle him again for 3 months. :( and don't fancy a repeat of last time.

Well my sink is shining and I'm bathed and dressed in proper clothes not house clothes although I haven't got any shoes on but I don't like wearing shoes. DW is almost full so will pop that on in a bit, kitchen worktops are clean and clear. :)

I've got some washing in the WM which I'm going to have to sort out I think I'll have some ironing to do later and I need to balance by accounts as things aren't adding up and I seem to have 'lost' some money despite spending less on food shopping I will be gutted if my hard 'not spent' £40 has gone as I was looking forward to making an extra payment to British Gas. :o

I had a proper good nights sleep last night it was lovely, I'm feeling a little bit rough now but thats cos I'm up and moving so will take some more stuff shortly, I think I'm over the worst of it and lots of people have to put up with much more than a bad cold don't they so I should count myself lucky.

Right I best do some clicks and then turn off the machine. Have a good day everyone. :D

B - Cereal (we all ate it together at the table at the same time!!!)
L - Crumpets with butter for DH, cheese for munch and golden syrup for me.
    D - Pizza job for tea. :)

Cat I hope your friend is okay.

The police finally came last night and they were very good , once they realised how serious we were and that we hadn't just made a report to make an insurance claim they went hell for leather :D We just want this little s**tbag to realise there are consequences to his actions.

I'm feeling very antsy towards DH this morning so he'd better keep out of my way, the whole family seem to think I am not entitled to a life and I am just there to wait on them, the one time I really want to go somewhere and DH is talking about choosing between a gig and a party in London he has been invited to, (note the 'he', I have not been invited). I wanted to go to the Arts and Crafts exhibition at the NEC :(

Then he made some remark about seeing as he's been busy working overtime to earn extra money he supposes it's only fair that I get the time to spend it, selfish git!!

TM, when I tackle my kitchen draw I use the spatula to bash the escaping wildlife. Very theraputic it is too :rotfl:
