Happy Birthday Racy Red :bdaycake:
Morning all
Kiwichick : Hope everything goes smoothly today
Mossy The slug story made me :rotfl: :rotfl:,, I think I'd have still been in the sink scrubbing know.
Its raining here in Liverpool today and my Ds has been reading a story based on Noahs Ark and he wanted to know was there another Ark being built as its been raining forever.
Today not much hapening here, got an essay to write and the WM on (I'm sure I'm doing the the rest of the streets washing  ), The house is still clean from yesterday (this an achievement in our house). I was going out for dinner with a friend but this has been cancelled, so trying to figure out how to spend my evening know, as very rare I get an evening to myself, might just stay in and have a long soak in the bath (door locked) or take myself off to the pics and see somthing I know I'll never get to watch otherwise.
Welcome to the weekend Ladies and Gentlemen :j :beer:GC: £400/ £00 -
Morning everybody and HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACYRED!!!
Glad it's Friday. I've got quite a clear weekend so should be able to get plenty done, though I'm out tomorrow evening then staying over at BF's. Am in dire need of clean clothes (as I was ill last week I didn't get around to doing the laundry, and have done ONE load of washing in the last FORTNIGHT).
Found out yesterday that a good friend of mine is pregnant (so yes there's DEFINITELY something in the water at the mo!) She and her DH have been trying for years and she has all sorts of gynae problems, so I'm really happy for them, esp. as she's 36 and was worried her chances might be diminishing.
I'm trying to get myself into a routine with this paid2click lark. I normally go to bed around 00:30 so I figured, if I spend the half hour from midnight onwards doing clicks, I'm "done" for that date and can add some more if I have any spare time during the day. I'm planning out which sets of clicks I want to do as a minimum each day (the best-paying clicks on the four best sites) so I have a "normal" set which I can do most days (worth about £2) and an "express" set which I can do when I really don't have much time. If I can build up an average of £1.65 a day, that's £50 a month! Don't know if I'm aiming too high, but am not budgeting the money for anything - just hoping I can add to my savings a bit.
GIRLPOWER you got in ahead of me with the suggestion of celeriac soup. Chipps - celeriac also makes nice mash, either on its own or combined with whatever other mashable root veg you've got, i.e. carrot, swede, parsnip, spuds, sweet potato... mmmmmmm.
mossy - uuuuuuurgh. I hate slugs. Snails at least have two redeeming features - firstly, they're interesting-looking, secondly, they can't get through the small gapsAlso, sorry you're feeling so rough this morning.
moggins - ((((hugs)))) to you and your son - I hope something really gets done about it.
WOAS - hurrah! I know things were tight enough for you already at the moment without some twit from the council making a mistake and trying to make you feel bad about it!
VickyA I hope it all works out for your father and SkintmamaI'll be thinking of you and your DH.
kiwichick - sorry the driving test didn't work out. I failed mine (once) when I was 20 but never bothered retaking as I was about to move to London and didn't need a car. But if I had three littlies like you I'd certainly want to be able to ferry them around and not rely on others. Better luck next time hey
Any sign of Penny-Pincher this morning? It's not like her to be missing from the daily thread at this time of the morning. And on the subject of missing persons, does anybody know where ancasta's disappeared to?
Love 'n' hugs

Morning all.
Happy Birthday Racy Red
I am having a bit of a giggle while reading the thread this morning. The slug story reminds me of our student house. I got home in the early hours to discover a 2 inch slug on the kitchen bench. OF course i was too squeamish and tired to deal with it, so i put an empty jam jar upside down over it for someone else to deal with. I woke up to find the slug gone, and people making sandwiches on the bench. When i enquired about it, someone had got rid of the slug, but not wiped the bench :rotfl:
Also, Math, what a trendsetter you are. Do you have one of them big shains hanging from your jeans as well? Also, you'll need to grow your hair so that it is slightly longer than the beanie hat
i am otherwise at a bit of a loss. The kittens were dropped at the vets at 8:30 for the neutering. One of them cried all the way there, and the other was timidly cowering at the back of his carrier. I felt awful leaving them, and now the house feels so quiet and empty. I'm going to get on with some pull out jobs today while i haven't got any helpers. I have to ring up to see how they are at 2. I know they will be fine, but i have been with them most of the day since we got them, and it feels so strange.
sorry to hear about your son moggins - did that actually happen at school? If so, school should be dealing with it as well, and may have that area camerad and have some evidence.
kiwi - hugs -hope the move goes well. Don't worry about the test. It has gone now and you can't change it.
Enjoy your day everyone. I'd best actually do something useful while i'm only feeling a little bit sick. It is worse in the late afternoon and evening. DH was fab last night though, and cooked dinner when he got in from work at 7. Bless him.

Morning all :grouphug:
Not read the thread through as I've got a few jobs to do but they're big jobs  Its chucking it down here so my plans to wash the towels and let them blow through before the "showers" start has been scuppered. Guess I'm going to have to hang them in the bedroom again
Last night I spent ages doing some batch cooking :j I made a huge pan of bolognese (padded out with half a bag of rice), a big pan of savoury mince (also padded out with the remains of the bag of rice), 2 bags of chicken drumsticks roasted in the oven then picked clean and the meat frozen in bags (Bones have gone in the bin along with the skin BUT thats because I know I won't have room in the freezer for stock PLUS I've got 3 packets of Oxo stock cubes which need to be used up - got them reduced though) plus I made a huge "blokes cauliflower cheese" which OH wolfed down and DD asked if she could have it today in her packed lunch
Unfortunately since she's not quite 5 I don't think the school would be pleased with me sending in a "meal" for her packed lunch  so I might let her have one of the left over portions for her tea tonight. I will be having the other one for my lunch though
Only problem with all this cooking is my kitchen if full of dirty dishes even though I did 2 loads last night. So thats my main big job to do today, wash all the pans, especially the baking dish I used so I can make lasagne for OH and I for tonight, with leftovers going in the freezer. I've also decided that I'm going to go buy some more Baco plastic tubs for the freezer ... they're brilliant! I know to use bags inside square containers and then remove the bags would be a better (and cheaper) option but I have a terrible knack of forgetting to get things out the freezer to defrost in time so at least the Baco tubs are microwaveable.
Right, off to put dishes away, wash another load and then I'll get on with the ebay listings as I still have tonnes to list! :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
WOAS............ brilliant!!!!!!! told you to tackle the b----rs, they think they can get away with murder..... they tried it with me once, never again.........
Racy Red HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!!!!! even if you are not 40!!!!!!
((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) to those who need them.
Not raining at the moment but a few dark clouds around, hope it keeps off for a while, we have not been for a walk at all this week..... hate walking in the rain!!!!!
Need to do some serious cupboard top cleaning this morning, got all the cobwebs down in the kitchen yesterday, let the dust settle, then I can do the tops today a major exercise as there is so much stuff on top of them......... if I am not too tired might also clean out the two wall cupboards as well, thats todays jobs sorted....
Cannot rememebr whats for supper tonight, think it might be stovies, or poss liver and bacon, will have to look at the menu board on the fridge door when I go down..... wanted to make some biscuits yesterday, started to get everything ready, put the ingredients in my NEW processor..... and the damn thing did not work............I got it from Argos last week, when I opened the box and checked some of the stuff was missing, rang Kenwood and they sent it yesterday, I have a feeling that it had been sold to someone who found it did not work and they had returned it minus some of the kit.... boy was I angry......... took it back and got a refund........ ordered one from Tesco on line, cost me £2 more than the one I bought but its the next model up, when I looked it up in the Argos book it was £12 more in there than I had paid, so well done Tesco, only thing is I will not get it until the middle if next week, oh well......... fingers and whisks do work, it just takes longer.......

Picked up the new car on Wednesday....on the drive home it got bashed by something falling off a truck (its not my month with cars at the moment). New windscreen being fitted on Saturday, and hopefully a friend will be able to help with the dents on the bonnet.
Tea today is to be HM Pizza a la OH.
Thinking about making some rolls over the weekend and having a go at some HM burgers. Might make a nice change. Will add in a few spices, a bit of onion (not too much as I don't like it a lot), and some garlic. Will serve with some HM chips.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Hello everyone
((hugs)) to those feeling under the weather (and slugs - yuergh) and those without enough sleep. I managed some last night - DS1 didn't come into our bed last night - he's been told if he does he won't go to the museumon saturday - so he slept until 6.20 then came into say 'Good morning, I'm going downstairs so I don't wake you' - :rotfl: bless him, hasn't quite got this 'don't wake us' bit off pat yet.
Just had a late shower. Will dry my barnet, hang wet washing on airer and fill WM again, then head off to Tesco (for those bits Aldi/Lidl don't sell) BM needs to go on and I may even get round to putting a steak casserole in SC for tea, otherwise can't think what to have. Whoops - best get the meat out of the freezer PDQ
DS2 is at pre-school this afternoon so I'm sure I can manage to fill a couple of hours. It depends whether my dvd turns up in the post today - I can watch that this aft and dust/tidy my bedroom and maybe crack on with the ironing at the same time.
jockett - was it you mentioning about not being able to throw stuff away before you move? It took me 21 years and 6 house moves to bin all my uni notes that I had no intention of ever looking at againI'm getting more ruthless - I just wish I could get rid of all the other 'junk' (apparently it's memorabilia) accumulated by everyone else in this house.
OK - hope everyone has a fab day. Off to defrost meat and dry my hair (separate jobs you understand)
TM
ps - where's CQ gone? Anyone heard from her lately?
