mossy - a tip for reserving library books (taught to me by my 11yo ds!) He reserved a book for me last week on his own initiative on the basis that, as he has a teen card they don't charge for reserve/postage ;) Don't worry that it's the original version, many of the principles are the same! And you always have here for the uptodate info on any queries the book might throw up for you ;) ENJOY!!! :D

foreverskint - oooh err, hope that the quote is the max you will pay. As for going around the shops and hoping not to spend any money ... take a notebook instead and make a mental note of the items/prices you see in the shop, then, once outside, write the prices in your notebook!! Especially useful if you jot down items you purchase regularly as you'll on your way to your very own Price Book :D If it's shops you don't usually visit, then write down the items anyway and use it as a "Wish List" for future reference ;) Either way, you don't part with any cash but it gives your hands something to do with the spendy thoughts and temptations. Best of luck. :):)

thrifty - yes it's the 9th ;):D Enjoy your day with your Mum and I hope you get some nice deals for next week ;)

Oooh I forgot to say in my original post .... (thanks for the reminder, thriftlady, even though you didn't know it LOL ) ....

It's one year today since the initial post on the concept for our OS pin money savings challenge :j I know you dont' all post in that thread but still log your PMS.
So, from me to all of you:
:T Thank you, new and old, for joining in with the PMS Challenge :T
It wouldn't have been possible without you and it's keep me on track on the days when I could easily have thrown the towel in on penny-pinching-pound-stretching ways and even those despairing-where-the-next-penny-will-come-from days too.

Wishing on a star - hope you get it sorted with the council bods, I've had "that" letter before and it's not nice is it! Good luck!

A very slow start to the morning, but I've ironed DD's uniform and my clothes for the day, made brekkie, made packed lunches and stuck a load in the WM so it's not all bad :rotfl:

DH bought some new windscreen wipers last night (20 quid  ) anyway he put them on and one of the wipers sprung back and smashed the windscreen      So we had to fork out 60 quid for someone to come fix it on Saturday (luckily the insurance company pays for most of it - but grrrr)

Anyway off for a bath - see you all later!
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Morning Queenie,

Yes it is the max I will pay, however the garage has just decieded they can't fit the job in today, so it will be tomorrow now.

Excellent idea with the notebook. I have a mental wish list, so will write the items i'm saving for and price them accordingly.

And although I don't post my PMS i do keep a little note in my head of my virtual savings, it really has helped me to think about spending, and where I can save, and my microwave was purchased with my PMS.

    So thanks Queenie.

(makes mental note: start writing more things down, so as to unload brain, and sleep better:whistle: )

    Good morning everyone,

Kiwi = hope today is a good one, we have evrything crossed for you!!!
WOAS = ive had a final demand from the council before, threatening court on its first letter, but im sure that if you contact them straight away you will be able to sort it out (i was!!)
PP = glad you had a better nights sleep
Smokey = good luck with the union, im sure you will come to the right decision

Hugs to everybody who needs one

It is a really miserable day here, misty and raining and i need to take out the bins in a minute which are out the back, so i need to carry them through the house to get them out the front, normally shouting at everyone to get out of the way before they drip all over the carpet!!!! It really is the only time i wish i had an OH here to do it for me!!!!
Just two little ones here today, and so far i have nothing planned at all, so will see what they fancy doing, i really need to sort the kithen out, but thats all i need to do re housework, which is good.
Tonight is parents evening at school, never used to be a problem, but DS has been complaining that he gets bored, and has been getting into trouble for talking in class, ive tried telling his teacher that he is complaining of being bored, but he is having none of it, apparently its impossible for primary school children to get bored with the teaching methods these days!!!! We will see what happens later, but if this continues next year, i think i will have to go higher than his teacher, hes always been a bright child and i would hate him to suffer because he isnt being stretched enough, and he needs no encouragement to act silly!!!!! Oh well, at least i know whats coming!!!
Well, off to do these bins, its still tipping down so better get my coat on first!!!
    Take care everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Catowen;I know what you mean regarding a child bored in class. my DD2 complained of this in primary school too and was always in trouble. I'm happy to say she was just bright and not being stretched enough.

Mind you she can still talk a glass eye to sleep, but that's another story!!

Well done Ronanfan, It's amazing what some things will fetch on ebay!! Hoope the rest sells aswell.
