 !!!!!! T****R ESTATE AGENTS :mad:I could bl***y well cry I really could. I got a phone call at 4.50pm on monday night to say the exchange was happening on the tuesday(yesterday) and completion/moving day would be the 10th of March. I spent ages on the phone yesterday arranging a removal firm, had them at the house at 8am this morning to do a thorough quote, booked them and paid £100 cash deposit.
I phoned my lawyer at 10am to find outif the echange went smoothly only to be told that the people we are buying from havent had contracts issued to them for their place of purchase yet. The estate agent told me that thepeople they were buying from were moving into rented accommodation and to proceed as soon as possible. It now seems they arent renting and are still waiting to find a house to buy.
I phoned the agent and it seems that the guy working my case has left the firm! No-one told me, no phone call or letter. Not only that but it seems that no-one has taken over the case   . So now I am screwed totally because my buyer signed their contract and paid the deposit yesterday. We signed our contract to sell ages ago. It looks like we have tomove next week and havenowhere to go. I am going to have to arrange storage for all our things. At this rate we will be in a hotel as its too late to be looking for rental property.
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm waiting on calls from the estate agent, the lawyer, the agent selling our house and then at some stage I'm gooing to get a !!!!ty call from our buyers as they will find out today too.

Hey everyone,
KiwiChick - just caught up with your story - I really hope things work out for you - what a cr*ppy situation - the house buying stuff up here is a bit clearer (even though you work on offers over - it seems that a lot more stuff is legally binding 'cos of different laws).
I'm working from home today and will hopefully manage a good O/S day - car is in the garage so can't get to work.
Have great days everyone!

Kiwichick - OH NO!!! What a nightmare I don't really know what to say apart from I hope you manage to start sorting it out asap and that it doesn't turn out to be as bad as it sounds. No wonder they say moving house is one of the most stressful things you'll do in your life. Hugs
Guys you are going to be sooo proud of me
This morning instead of turning on putta after reading my daily bit of the bible :A I left munch snugled on the sofa watching kids tv and hung out some washing, another load in WM, DW on, BM on. Then I tackled the dinning room!!!!
I have got one box for things to go upstairs, a rubbish bag, an ebay box and a charity bag which are getting fuller and fuller. The table is clear and I am now starting on the floor. I've just come for a sit down to give myself a little break as my back was starting to ache. I'm sooo pleased with myself.Right best get on its not going to finish itself.
Oh and for Lent, I don't drink and I'm already fasting Chocolate until we move house (9 months without choc and counting) so I am giving up swearing. I think I might look for that hungry planet book as that would not only be good for me but I want munch to be aware of how other people live and how lucky we are.

Oh kiwi chick thats awful.
I really don't know what to say, I hope you can find somewhere for the short term.
big hugs freySaving for the future of the earth0 -
Oh Kiwichick, how totally awful for you. I can't imagine anything worse. Try to find a letting agent who deals with"holiday lets", these can be for anything less than 6 months & can be renewed as necessary. Your estate agents should be bending over backwards to help you as they have cocked it all up. If they are a chain then get onto the area manger! Demand for a total written chain list by the end of the day which will detail exactly where the gaps are in your chain. If they are an agent who also handle lettings then they will probably have property sitting empty & they can try & persuade a LL that it is in his interest to have someone staying even for a short time rather than waiting for a longer let & losing money in the mean time.
And what was your solicitor thinking of allowing you to exchange when he must know you haven't got anywhere to go to??????? Get onto the law society if necessary.

Hello everybody,
Sorry to hear you've got awful problems with your house sale KiwiChick. It all sounds very stressful. I hope you get it sorted real soon. It must be in the air as we had a crappy day yesterday as well. The people who were to buy our place had to pull out of the contract yesterday as they were unable to get finance. We have packed up to a point as we had only one week left to be out of here. So it's now back to square one. Sigh.
Work was busy today. I couldn't be bothered shopping after work so will do it tomorrow. It's been raining here all day which has been lovely. I'm sitting here in a long sleeve top it's that chilly.
Been to Mass tonight for Ash Wednesday service. I then ducked into woolies (across the road) and got some good specials on bread, rolls & a pkt of hot cross buns. I shall have one with my cuppa in the morning.
I think I will hit the sack now. I'm pretty weary. It's 10.15pm. Have a great day and hugs to those in need of them & are feeling poorly.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hey,Kiwichick,
What an awful thing to happen  .Something really similar happened to a friend of mine a few months ago and she ended up staying in a Travelodge for 10 days. Not ideal at all and expensive, but everything was resolved in the end.Keeping my fingers crossed for you.0
