Thanks Guys,
I still havent heard from all involved but dh and I havedecided that we aresimply not willing to loose the sale on this house so we will move wherever we have to in order for things to progress on the 10th. The agent we were buying from does deal with lettings so will be looking for something for us if things arent sorted by the close of play today. Goodness knows how much it is going to cost to store our things, I dont know where to start with that.
:grouphug: AussieLass, the exact same thing happened with our first buyers, they pulled out on exchange day
I'll keep you all posted.

Hello all,
Joined MSE last month but haven't posted on this thread before.
To introduce, am 30 years old, financial assistant/payroll clerk for a medium sized manufacturing company. Rent a flat with my partner. Grandad left me some money in his will last year which I should receive shortly & hope we may be able to put a deposit down on our own flat/little house (prices here steep!). No little ones, no pets.
Trying to pay off my overdraft (see sig) so my money is my own each month & I don't get charged interest by bank!
It's month end at work today, so am out of the system for now while all the reports run off etc so thought I'd have a browse here/say hello.
Had step aerobics last night & OH made chilli con carne & made pancake batter up whilst I was out, so could just relax & stuff my face! Got the leftovers for lunch today.
No plans for this evening, probably just snuggle up to keep warm & catch up on some "Friends" which we record it every morning.
Breakfast: Cup of tea (can never face food first thing)
Lunch: Leftover chilli, banana, apple
Dinner: Home made Quiche Lorraine, new potatoes, veg0 -
Afternoon everyone!
Poor you Kiwichick - this happened to us, and we were relocated 200 miles away - argh! We managed to find a holiday let - not many are fully booked this time of year (or in November when we moved!) so you may be lucky, and we negotiated over the price as we knew we'd be there at least 6 weeks - people we rented from were pleased to have the extra income that they hadn't expected. Perhaps you could try something like this.
Well this morning has been a wash out - every time I try to go to bed (worked last night so feeling very tired now - and working again tonight!) the phone rings, the door goes, something happens. Have just had lunch and will be off to bed in a mo.
It's now snowing really hard, and after a few false starts this morning it's now been continuous for an hour and is settling well - may not be at work tonight after all, if when I wake up it's two foot deep I shall be staying put tonight! Rightho, must go get a bit of a snooze, as will need to leave to pick up dd2 and dd3 in two hours!
Have a great day all, keep warm, and best wishes to all and hope everyone who is poorly feels well soon.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))))Kwick Chick, I know what its like, we sold a house in Scotland in 3 hours......we wanted to move in december but the buyers wanted to move in at the end of October, we did not want to loose the sale, so put our furniture in store and rented a holiday caravan for 6 weeks, we were having a new house built, believe me it was an experience I would rather forget, we ended up moving in on Christmas Eve and spent Christmas day unpacking!!!!!
I am feeling quite a lot bettter, went with OH on an early morning run to the airport, we had promised a friend we would take her, got up at 4.30am, we were both back in bed by 6.30, have just been to the library to change our books and had lunch, cup a soup, cheese, crackers and fruit. I do not ususally buy cup a soup, but we got it for our trip to Paris which we did not take, thanks to me being in bed.
Its a lovely morning, very cold in the wind but in the sheltered sun its very pleasant. I managed to get two loads washed, put a second load in when we got back from the airport, its blowing well on the line, should be able to iron it later.
Have just one days medication to go should finish it tomorrow night, have to wait 3 weeks and then send in another sample to see if all the bugs have gone........then its wait for an appointment at the hospital...........
Gammom, baked spuds and baked toms with creamed mushrooms for supper tonight, not sure whats for pud.......
Feeling a bit tired so going to put my head down for half an hour........

IT'S OFFICIAL........MARY THE FAIRY IS HAVING A "GAP"!!!
After three...yes three  trips to our house since Saturday Mary the tooth fairy has informed me that she will be out of action for the next week. She's to be found in sunnier climes munching value chocolates and drinking copious quanities of Lidl cherry brandy. She will be returning once her pin money account has recovered :rotfl:

:hello: Beautiful sunny day here
Was all enthused to give the house a good hoovering, but it was being stubborn, so instead, I've given the vacuum a thorough cleanLOL
Was really pleased with my Coconut, Banana and Bran loaf from yesterday ... I'm going to toast it tonight, put on some pureed fruit and a dollop of natural yogurt with a sprinkle of nutmeg and call it dessert
Have some Cheese, Onion and Rosemary Bread due out of the BM any time soon.
Haven't given anything specific up for Lent because I've challenged myself to two other "give-ups" at New Year (one in Jan. one in Feb) March is exercise month, April is decorating month. D11yo did ask if he could give up school for Lent ... I said, sure, I'll homeschool ... he thought about it very briefly and decided he'd rather continue where he is :rotfl: To my face he reasoned that I wouldn't be too hot at teaching him football
B: Porridge with sultana's and cinnamon sprinkle
L: Vegetable soup for me; CBB Loaf sarnies, fruit and flapjacks for ladsRoast Turkey (Breast), roasted veggies and potatoes - dessert - see above.
Get Well Soon wishes to all who are unwell, injured or under par.
ap - LOL @ medicinal - actually, the report I read recommended a small portion of plain chocolate + a small glass of red wine was beneficial to the heart. I decided against being a guinea pig for testing purposes
FunkyFairy - wow! 48hrs off to be well in? How will you spend the time?
thriftlady - funny you should mention food/portions, I was reading an old cookery book in bed last night and the suggested "portions" (1/2 pt soup if being served at a light lunch, 1/3 pint if being served as a first course; 2-3 SMALL potatoes per adult, 4oz meat off the bone, 6oz on the one) I know a few people I've met in my life who would think I was giving them a dolls house plate if that is what was offered up - yet, to my mind, I think that is about right! But yes, I do agree with you that the more affluent cultures not only eat a more unhealthy diet, but actually suffer far more from pure gluttony!
Lillibet - first congrats on Spuds tooth :j Re: med cabinet - I cleared my Med Cupboard end of January (posted some links you may find useful in the daily thread OS 29th Jan '06 - printable checklist which can be used as a shopping list plus links to other info on Med Cabinets . HTH
Chipps - Hope the service went well today, sounds like a lovely idea! Enjoy the Childrens Club tonight.
Pooky - know what you mean about the bright sun showing up the dirt - I didn't feel inclined to do my windows, but out of necessity, I've had to take my vacuum apart to clean it and can't resume for another 8 hrs(following manufacturer's instructions
) Have fun with the handprints, are you doing the poem to go with it?
ivyleaf - ((hugs)) for your DH and I hope he adjusts speedily to giving up work. The lunch sounds like it was a wonderful idea too. No reason why you couldn't hang out some bunting over the weekend to make more of an occasion of itAfterall, no matter the circumstances, it is a milestone in his life history!!
TM - good luck with your crochet!!! I know you said you'll be practising, but what will you be making?
Michelle - I LOVE the sound of "Baby Pud" and "Hamish The Bump" :rotfl: Easter by the sea sounds lovely and definately something to look forward to.
melancholly - :j :j No wonder you are excited, the chilli sounds wonderful! Hoping you enjoy many more tasty SC meals. Wishing you many successes(Don't be tempted to keep peeking inside - it breaks the "seal" and reduces the temperature, extending the cooking time
)
kiwi - No advice but (((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))
AussieLass - (((hugs))) to you too! They do say house buying/selling is one of THE most stressful live eventsWishing you both the best of luck that things will work out well in the end!
Welcome DopeyDora :hello: Great that you've joined us
tootles - fingers X'd that the meds have done the trick.
Aril - :rotfl: Ooooh those Lidl cherry brandy's are sooooo scrummy!!!
thriftlady - it's not a case of when *they* wise up - they won't tell you when they do because they still like getting the money! My D10yo has a wibbly wobbly one and is still telling me how he's going to use the moneyI was brought up to be told (and believe) that you only got money for the very first tooth - wisdom I wish I'd adhered to with my own children (could have saved myself a small fortune!!) LOL
