This is my parents we're talking about!!!
Mum is just turned 81 & dad is 75 (he's her toyboy) they like good plain english food unfortunately. It does seem a shame to come up to the curry capital & not get to sample something interesting but it's my mum's treat so we're going to her favourite place for a pub lunch.

yeah we have alot of charity shops and all them are very pricey .

is anyone else finding this ?

I haven't been in a charity shop to shop since my mum forced me to go in them as a child lol, but I did do a stint helping at Oxfam on a Saturday quite a few years ago...before munch ....you know before kids when you actually had time to do stuff. :rotfl: Anyways I found that Oxfam's pricing is quite strict and certainly at the time seemed quite expensive.

    Welcome Polly :)

Well if you were in Lincoln tescos at around 6pm you may have noticed a woman with a funny looking smile on her face...that was me enjoying walking around a shop looking at stuff without a child...yes you heard me right oh the sweet sweet joy of shopping alone. :)

Done some baking this afternoon with munch bread loaf for DH, flapjack yum and fimble cakes (yuck) munch only likes them for the sprinkles she doesn't actually eat them afterwards  so I've kept the box this time and I will refill it with HM cake mix and sprinkles from the cupboard so next time they'll taste nicer and wont cost anything. ;)

Had my eyes tested this arvo and they have improved again woo hoo, although its still a little alarming to only be able to read the first letter on the chart with my left eye though  :o I am going to buy my new glasses from glassesdirect or similar but did fall in love with some frames at D&A and they were only £50 :o plus £95 for lenses  put the glasses down and step away from the mirror lol :D

Just need to write up my report from mystery shop then do clicks etc etc, treated myself to a grow your own magazine (out of my own budget) so might read that in bed once I've finished.

BTW is it me or is there nothing on TV tonight, I've even flicked over to God channels and nowt on...well only the crazy american preachers :rotfl: and there a bit too much for me.

Night night all have a fantastic Sunday and I'll see you all on Monday. :A

    Evening everyone

wow - I had a whole morning by myself in town today :j Boys went sledging with Mr TM and I went to the libray - 2 more books on crochet, then to market (another hook) and went into Boots where I nabbed a bargain using a combination of returns, vouchers earned from a survey and only 85p cash. Then insisted they add the £1.79 to my card, which the girl said couldn't be added :D:D

Spent all afternoon driving round waiting for my mum to get home (but she WAS in all along!) and my sister to wake up (she works nights). Went for a drive and saw the most beautiful scenery - wished I'd taken my digi camera so I could show you lot :) I think it's a sign of growing up/old, when you start appreciating the sights you grew up with. :)

Was home late but mum did buy us fish and chips to take home cos she fancied a fish and I'd been driving her round :D Am now stuffed and also just had to sample the bottle of Lidl port I bought today (2 large glasses so far :o)

Have done very little cleaning - didn't even get as far as emptying the WM or refilling it. What the heck - it will be there tomorrow! I do need to put BM on overnight tho.

So, finally, welcome to the newbies, always glad to see you :)

Have a great evening everyone. I'm off to watch Dancing on Ice in a mo - and refill my glass ..... *hic*

    Hi again,

I know it's actually Sunday now but I always feel daft starting the new daily thread before I've been to bed :o

I've had a lovely day. The ham joint I did in the SC came out lovely. I know it's an OS cliche but it fell off the bone before I could even lift it out of the SC. I just sort of flaked it up and scoffed a few bits before clingfilming the rest for sarnies :D Then it seemed a shame to waste the yummy stock/apple/onion/garlic cooking juice so I raided the cupboard for beans - one tin of cannellini beans, one of chickpeas and one of kidney beans, plus a tinof chopped toms. Chucked it all into the liquid in the SC and left it until I got home an hour ago. Haven't actually tried it yet but it smells delish - it did 3 good-sized portions of soupy type stuff - if I can be @rsed I will go at it with the stick blender in the morning, make a proper thickish soup out of it. Otherwise I'm sure it'll be fine as it is, with a wholemeal roll for lunches next week.

Didn't get the WM on at all today - Saturday is normally washday for me - but I've got a couple of free evenings at the beginning of this week so it's not a laundry crisis yet!

Collected my new glasses from Bexleyheath Specsavers - they look fab and I can't believe how much clearer my vision is! I knew my right eye hadn't been quite in focus for some time but I was shocked by the difference the new lens makes. Left eye is also noticeably sharper.

Next part of day was not very OS. Had a restaurant meal. Met up with my friend who's currently in London twice a week singing a minor role at Covent Garden. We went to Livebait (fish restaurant) and had a good catch-up session as we haven't really been in touch properly for almost two years. She is trying to get her singing career back on track after putting it on hold first to have a baby (in 2002) then to be a full-time carer to her mother who died last summer. Then I went and sat in the cheap seats (£9, right up in the roof at the side - not a bad view, especially with my new glasses!) at the opera house for the show, which was excellent.

Now back at home listening to a lovely relaxing Bach CD, except somebody's just pulled up outside with a loud beat on their car stereo

Church tomorrow, then I'll either come home to do housework or spend the afternoon at my boyfriend's.

Off to bed now, night night
