    Morning all

Waiting for the postman to bring my new cook books from amazon
Me too, mine's Second Helpings by Jeanette Orrey.

Can't drive as I'm still whacked out on diazepam!! actually it hasn't had any effect on my state of mind but it has relaxed my neck muscles and I'm nearly back to normal.I still got really irritated with dd this morning so I don't think I've had a strong enough dose for it to be 'mother's little helper'-not that I need that sort of help-lucky me.

Waiting in today for Tesco order and not doing much else.Might write out this week's meal plan on Word to post on the fridge.I did this last week and the kids really enjoyed seeing what they were having.

    Breakfast-kids-porridge and toast
    me-bread and honey

Lunch-kids-pitta filled with cheese, tomato, carrot, cucumber and mayo
    chocolate muffin,apple/banana
me- soup made from leftover sauce from chicken casserole, bread
    fruit

    Supper- Bean stew/hotpot,hm potato wedges,veg
Leftover iced apple sponge(actually cake made from muffin mixture without eggs-worked really well)

Hope everyone has a good Monday :)

My day is going from terrible to bloody horrible. If I get any more problems this year I'm going to explode.

    1. Hire car broke down over the weekend when we were 100 miles away from home
    2. RAC guys told us that car was undriveable and had to get a 'lift' home in a truck that felt like it was a fridge freezer.
    3. Spoke to the hire car company and they told us that we have to pay £50 to get a replacement car for a couple of days whilst they assess the car
    4. Our insurance company are still waiting for the other guy's insurance company to formally admit liability
    5. The people who have our car have now told us verbally that the car is a write off....so chances are we'll lose the hire car either today or in a day or two anyway.

    Can I scream now?

    Morning all

PP - hope it all goes well at the hospital today.

moggins (((hugs))) for you too - I know what it's like not getting any time to yourself, and it's darned hard trying to colour your hair with a 3yo trying to help ;) Hope your dad is on the mend too.

smokey - lol at your story. It's not as bad as when I was in my first job and the girl who was training me up left. They started drinking at 10am - and I hardly wasn't a big drinker anyway. Put it this way - by 5pm - they dared me to ring up one of the other offices and ask this chap "how big he was" (he was always bragging) So I did - as you do when you're legless. I completely failed to notice the whole of my office incl. manager watching me and didn't know the bloke on the phone was the manager of the other office  Needless to say - at the Xmas party I stayed completely sober and they all took great delight in seating me opposite this fella. Mind you - what I did was nothing to what they all did at the xmas party - so don't worry - there will be a lot worse stories going around :D

Ok - it' s snowing here again, but I don't think it will last. However, where the car was registering 2 degC, I drove up my road to see a neighbour out wearing ..... shorts, t-shirt and sandals   (Maybe he's a geordie :rotfl:)

Today I need to finish drying and sorting the washing (5 loads yesterday) Need to think about what's for tea - maybe porky potatoes ....yum. Need to clear up after the mini tornadoes who live here too. May also do some more crochet - I managed a whole granny square last night with 1 small mistake, altho had to unravel quite a number of times :) Just need to learn to loosen the tension more.

Ok - :coffee: is finished so a quick surf and I'm off. Have a great day everyone and ((hugs)) to those in need.

    Morning all... :grouphug: to all

PP good luck at the hospital.

Spent yesterday afternoon making flapjacks (most of which were a disaster  ) and baking bread which also went wrong, but I think the bread error was because I was getting impatient :o

So far today, morning route done, beds aired & made, WM has just finished and I'll be putting that load on hangers in the bedroom as its snowing/raining here (can't make up it's mind  ) even though the wether forcast according the the local radio station is fine and dry most of the day

Off to Asda in a mo (once washing is out) to do a top up shop and get some cash for ebay parcels that need to be posted (£8 earnt, plus profits from postage costs that cover packaging costs). When I get back I need to do 1 batch of dishes after I've had dinner, and get a move on with wrapping/dispatching ebay parcels and get more items listed. Looks like it's going to be a busy computer day for me.

Will catch up properly later.

    Morning :hello:

Didn't post yesterday cos I was not feeling well. Went straight home after church and slept for 3 hours, then stayed in bed watching telly for the rest of the evening. Everybody at work has still got this flu bug, and some are still off sick with it. I did consider crying off again myself, but there are so many things that need to be done today, I decided I was better off coming in rather than throwing the whole week off balance.

The bits of meat off Saturday's SC ham hock made some beautiful sarnies yesterday on multigrain bread (Tesco Finest - sorry ladies, I don't eat enough bread or have enough space to justify a BM) with Jamie-from-church's HM apple chutney (which was a Christmas present). I will have to get the recipe for you as it's great stuff.

PoshPaws - your "mentioning Toxic Farts in front of Nanna" story reminded me so much of my own grandmother - LOL. She was such a prude, everything by the book, best behaviour to be demonstrated in her presence etc etc etc. In my childhood I saw more of her than my younger sister and brother did, as I used to go to visit her at weekends with my dad while mum stayed at home with the littlies. I remember one occasion when she said to me "It would be lovely to have a nice natural photo of your brother..." (who was about 18 months at the time) "...without his dummy or blanket, and with some clothes on." "Well, Grannie," I replied, "that wouldn't be a nice natural photo then, would it?"

(Somewhere in my mum's archives there's a cracking pic of my bro aged about 2, at a holiday cottage we were staying at in Scotland, wearing... wait for it... a stripey pyjama top, my father's flat cap and size 11 green wellies, a dummy and a cuddly blanket. And nothing else. I do hope he doesn't read this board - he's 20 now and he'd kill me!)

johanne - hope the interview goes swimmingly! You're certainly due a bit of good fortune on the job front.

moggins and elona - I hope your father/daughter are feeling much better :grouphug:

mossy - best of luck to your SIL. Hope it's quick and painless!

PP - good luck at the hospital, I hope you get some good news.

Lunch today will be reheated mushroom risotto (not my best effort - got the proportions a bit wrong and it's more like mushroom fried rice!) and I probably won't have a big meal this evening - just some more yummy ham sarnies with apple chutney

    See you later
    Rzl xx

    Morning Folks.
Was away to London for the weekend so haven't read the last few days posts... I hope everyone is well and nothing major happened
Had a lovely weekend and managed not to spend too much money -in fact the only things we bought (apart from food) were 2 small presents for the kids. It was freezing though
Today will be spend washing the clothes we had away with us, Mother dearest, bless her washed all the kids stuff while they were staying with her. There's still loads of washing to do though. House needs a tidy up, hoover, dust, clean bathroom too. If I have time I will nip to Tesco or Asda for some groceries. Other plans include ringing house insurance to see if it will cover the contact lens that DD washed down the bathroom sink last week - £70 to replace  Fingers crossed

Will pop on in a bit to catch up. Have a good day all. PP good luck at hospital, Johanne good luck with the Interview and Mossy - hey a new baby awww - let us know!

    Morning everyone.

sorry to hear about the car troubles for some of you this weekend. The cold weather does it every time.

hugs to elona and her DD. Best wishes for a speedy recovery

Hope your appointment goes well at the hospital PP. Hopefully you won't have to wait around too long. That's the worst bit about medical appointments isn't it.

Get well soon BargainRzl. Sounds like a few more days in bed would do you good. See how your week goes, and take more time if you need it.

Johanne, good luck with the interview.

Having yet another slow morning. DH had a good tidy up yesterday downstairs, so house is fairly tidy. Unfortunately, we had to, as the cats were playfighting quite viciously and pulling big chunks of fur out of each other. Thank god they are having the snip on Friday. it might calm them down a bit.

My jobs today are going to be keep the WM going, get the BM on, i will have to use the TD at least once today, although i haven't used it for nearly a fortnight. (My fault - i washed some jeans for DH 3 days ago but forgot they were in the WM. Now he needs them tomorrow, so they are being washed again, and the rads will not be on long enough to dry them that way.)

The snow has all gone, and its quite a nice sunny day. I'm going to have to get DH to get me a new washing line to replace the one he broke last year. I should be starting to dry some bits outside soon.

I'm going to get on with the day now. hope you all have a good one,

    Michelle, x

    Freyaluck - Great news!

PP - good luck at hospital :)

Got an interview at the job centre this afternoon, something about getting lone parents back into work. If they can find me an employer that will accept my illness then i'd definitely go to work, DD is 4 now and i feel the need to do something for me, to get me out of the house and meet new people but i do need an understanding employer - plus the fact that i have never worked before, i have qualifcations but no experience.

B - rice crisps and orange juice for DD, tea for me
    D - Beans on toast/spaghetti on toast
    T - Spag bol

    Have a good day all

    Good morning everyone,

Havnt read the threads yet, so hope everyone is well.

Im starting the week slowly today, taped the oscars last night, so have that on at the moment, i love it every year, so the little ones i have here are experiencing a taste of Hollywood this morning!!!! (along with all the cars and play family people that seem to be littering the room!!!) Have one load in the WM that i need to hang on the airer, cooking a lovely smelling chicken and veg soup in the SC, bathroom half done and i will be able to dust whilst watching the oscars!!!! I love being able to work from home!!!!
Had a lovely girly day yesterday with DD, had a lazy morning, then went into Plymouth shopping and we treated (well treat for her) to a mcdonalds happy meal each!!! DS came back from his dads with his hair cut, wouldnt mind, but DS had been trying to grow it, and wasnt happy, but said his dad had just done it and he didnt like to say anything. Makes me really mad that he can just go ahead and do things like that, he sees the children once a month if that, and he decides what he wants to do rather than what the children want to do, no wonder DD refuses to stay with him longer than a day!!!!
Thats my big moan out of way, going to carry on watching the oscars now, and should play with the little ones to, might get them to help me do the dusting!!!!!
Take care everyone, hope you all have a lovely day xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
