VickyA - Good luck with the ofsted and hugs to Michelle, my friend whose a teacher is currently off work due to stress. She job shared and between them they had the worst class in the school (apparantely it was the fault of the last teacher and it isn't the little darlings fault!!?? ummm). Her Head master was equally useless and when she asked for help he told her to get a book out of the library about disruptive children...very helpful and supportive not!!!
Judyjay - Good luck with cleaning out the car... and well done for picking yourself up and getting back in control....you go girl *said in a cheesy american ancent*
Well I've had an interesting morning, moved some appliances around in the kitchen although having a mini episode about it as I absolute hate having lots of things on the worktop, generally I can cope with kettle on one counter, butter, olive oil and salt pig on another counter and microwave on third counter (there all small before you think I have a huge kitchen) but now with the BM and moving things about the fruit basket and scales now need to go on the worktop.
Anyway phoned tesco credit card to check balance as having an eye test today and wanted to pay on card to earn points but found out I was £50 over limit  silly silly girl...I only have a £400 limit and generally spend more than that so pay off bits early and clear the bill at the end of each month but I forgot to do it....so cross with myself you wouldn't believe it  especially as I was going to ask for a limit review this week...well I can't now can I  I have calmed down a bit now but I always do this, get things sorted and on top of everything and then let it all go and end up in a mess again....but have resolved not to let this little slip up spoil things I'll just miss out on 20 odd points thats all, paid a chunk off so will be back to normal next week.
Right munch wants some juice so I best go, going to finish tidying the kitchen then do some baking with munch and mess it up again.:rotfl:

Thanks all for your support for the forthcoming Ofsted. The classroom just looks a bit tidier now. I read the riot act to the children yesterday (Year 6) that these visitors were coming to see how the teachers are teaching, LSAs supporting and the children behaving. I have a couple of little sods in my class, which isn't fantastic.......... but they can be good sometimes. I am hoping that Tuesday and Wednesday is that "sometimes".
Girlpower - how awful. Definitely demand a new mattress and read the riot act.
Soup is bubbling away at the mo and OH got a granary loaf in town when he eventually managed to extract himself out of bed.

we didn't tell ours - management decision, although you can't really expect secondary school kids to not notice.
i'm sure you will be fine vicky. get that good old team spirit going.0 -
Good and bad news today -good,ds1 has a place at our school of choice for September :T
bad(only for me)my neck has seized up-it does this preiodically.Have just got back from the out of hours GP at the hospital. He's given me some valium to relax my muscles,so I shall be well-mellow later on when I've had a glass of wine too :rotfl: If I start posting complete rubbish you'll know why.Still,I hope it does the trick because I'm in a lot of pain and can only move my head 2cm in each direction, and had a terrible night's sleep.
Haven't managed to read everyone's posts yet so I hope people are having better Saturdays than me.0 -
Girlpower...what can I say that hasn't been said already. Lots of good advice there. However I would definitely chase for a new mattress. Make him earn the money for it some other way, eg sell something of his own on ebay, or do some extra hours...anything! He has not treated you well and must make it up to you. Sleeping on a p!ssy mattress is not good enough for you and he must make amends. Mind you a friend of mine from years ago came home drunk one night, lifted the lid of the stereo and piddled in that. It was his own stereo so ha ha bl00dy ha to him for getting that drunk.
Hello Judyjay...hope you got your car sorted. It's one of my pet hates too, though when it's all lovely and shiny it's almost worth it. Maybe you could go to the horse-riding with your DD anyway this afternoon? You could sit in the car...or you could join in. I used to ride and boy does it take a lot of energy especially the rising trot, so you wouldn't be cold. It's very good for your thighs and bum too.
Vicky, best of luck for the inspection. I hope the little monsters in your class will all be calm. I didn't realise quite how stressful it could be for the teachers. It doesn't seem at all fair, especially when a lot of the problems in the classroom are a reflection of a disadvantaged home or perhaps even poor management within the school (like that poor teacher getting the worst class when she was just recently qualified...that sounds horrific).
Last night I went to bed at 9.30 pm, I was so flipping tired. I didn't get up until 10.00 am though as usual I was up twice during the night for an hour or two each time. I do feel much better today though.
This morning I went to the library, and found one fairly relevant book for my upcoming history essay. The teacher mentioned to us that there are four different classes following the course, so every single hsitory book on this particular topic in the college library is out as are all the useful books in the public library. Even the bookshops have been stripped bare! I'm going to get some off the internet, was waiting on payday in order to pay for them, so will do that today.
Lucky me found a really nice bag in Cancer Research today - it was only £3 and looks almost brand new. I had been toying with buying something similar in the sales at £50 (reduced from £70 or so). I am so glad I walked away on the grounds it was a waste of money (cos it was!).
The WM is swishing a great big pile of underwear as I type, the kitchen is tidyish since my blitz on Thursday, I'm half way through a blitz on a mountain of paperwork, and I don't have a lot else to do today...other than an essay.
See you all later

It's my 8th week of teaching! And the head is pretty poor. Alot of the children have disadvantaged backgrounds with 3 of my class having such poor behaviour that they are going to the Educational Psychologist. Oh happy day.
I'm trying to relax by watching the rugby, but my team are losing :mad:SnowyOwl wrote:Lucky me found a really nice bag in Cancer Research today - it was only £3 and looks almost brand new. No, bargains and Stamford are two words that don't go together. Your Oxfam is quite pricey!
The Oxfam in Oundle would be better if I were a size 10..................Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Have done 3 washloads and 2 loads are dry an the other on the airer. DW is on and washing up done. Downstairs all clear, clean and tidy. Toilet cleaned.
OH's mate has just come to pick up his car as he left it here whilst on holiday with a full tank:D did him some lunch (with us) of bake spud, cheese and beans, so he was really pleased. He'd bought OH 2 bottles of expensive booze and DD some sweets and me some chocolates.
DD & I are going to watch Pride and Prejudice in a while as we havent watched it yet.
Hope your all well.

Vicky and Michelle,I can empathise with you both about ofsted. The way I coped with an impending inspection at my school(Key stage 2) was to get pregnant! This worked well,I left to be a stay-at-home-mum and never went back
I'm not sure you've got time for that though Vicky :rotfl:
