Oooo! I never get to reply to the daily thread this early.
OH has gone off to work in the snow, so I decided to get up & do some jobs. Overnight washing is on the airer/rads, 2nd load has just gone in. Emptied kitchen bin, swept kitchen floor & made myself a :coffee:. I might now go back to bed with the Nigel Slater book I borrowed off a friend. It's quite good - his childhood remembered through food, like the first time he has spaghetti bolognaise with parmesan & his first home ec lesson at school.
Went all the way to Leeds last night for the rugby to be called off less than an hour before the game started! We were actually in the ground when it was announced. Now I have to go all the way back again tomorrow afternoon.................

    Morning

Not a good nights sleep as me throats hurting again, but i think it was all the chatting last night with our friends..LOL.

1 washload done and waiting to be put on the airer. DW half full. Toilet cleaned. Everywhere else clean and tidy from cleaner yesterday. Have another 2 washloads to do today. A few plates to wash up that cant fit in the DW, so OH said he'd wash those once he's up.

We had a great evening last night with friends and the Spagbol turned out lovely, as did the other HM bits. Had cheese and biccies later but they and OH (i cant drink ATM) polished off 4 bottles of wine and 5 bottles of beer:eek: Been invited rounds theres in the next few weeks for a roast chicken meal (dd's fav), so that will be nice and gets me out the house.

Hopsital went OK and am up at Kings Hospital London on Monday as we're awaiting news on another possible operation....but we will see.

Anyways, Ive got to go as Im knackered and having a real doss day today.

Breakie:scrambled egg made with cream and spring onions
    Lunch:Jacket Spud, Coleslaw and cheese
    Dinner:Egg/???and HM chips

Will catch up later. Hugs to everyone

    Morning, all. :)

Its a frosty one here today, as well. I'm just praying it doesn't rain before Sunday evening, or the dogs will be tracking mud indoors right when we're trying to keep everything spic and span for the parental visit on Sunday.

So, its all systems go today with the housework. I popped into Morrisons yesterday to buy bread and milk (hubby insists on keep eating the nasty cottonwool they call bread) and discovered that they are doing BOGOF on Microfibre cloths at 99p. Wahoo! So that's me all kitted out with my three cloths .. one wet, one dry, one to buff up a polish with. :D

It will be the first time I've done the whole house with the vinegar/essential oil/water/microfibre cloth method and it will be interesting to see whether it does indeed make life easier, the dusting happen any quicker and the results look any good. At least, this way, you're taking the dust completely out of the atmosphere, as opposed to transferring it onto your duster - so I'm hopeful.

DS did very well with the liver yesterday - he tried a bit, then announced "I don't really like this beef much", so I suggested he cut it small and put some sweet potato mash and gravy with it on his fork, then try again. He thought that was very acceptable and a good percentage of it disappeared. So, after he'd finished, I said "If I'd told you that was liver, would you have eaten it?". "Nope", he said. So, all in all, he coped very well. We only have the stuff about once a year - so he's safe for another year. :D

Right then, this won't get the baby a new bonnet ... or the housework done. ;)

    Have a great Saturday, everyone.

    B : marmite toast
    L : mackerel on couscous
D : chilli from the freezer (we'll be worn out from polishing, by then!)
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

    Morning everyone

Well, the snow is still here so the boys are pleased (ok, DS1 as DS2 keeps changing his mind about whether he likes it or not :D) Mr TM said he'd drag them up and down the hills on their sledges later - I may join in if I'm around.

I have to go into town as dvd's need returning to the library today. Will pop to market and peruse their fruit and veg. (cheaper than buying it :rotfl:) Also will go to see mum and then to my sister's and drop off my nephew's birthday pressie.

Need to have a de-clutter today - of normal things that seem to accumulate throughout the week - toys, laundry etc, and upstairs needs a vac. Will give the loos and bathroom a going over too.

    B: Porridge
L: sandwich/beans on toast/leftovers - whatever we all fancy really
D: No idea - my freezer inspection awaits :)

Have a good day and keep warm.

Morning all - another whiteout here today, am going to find it strange once the snows gone - thats about a week solid we've had it for now.

PP - hope you feel a bit better as the day goes on.

Football today for DH so me and the kids have an afternoon at the shops looking for bargains. Dont think this morning will be very productive although I started moving DD's bedroom about yesterday and cleaning every nook and cranny in it so will have to get it back to normal soon before she gets let loose in it today. DH doesn't work at weekends so housework gets left now because even when I do it he still makes it look like a bombsite until he goes away on Monday AM

    B - porridge
    L - Bacon Rolls
    D - Nachos and Tacos

No snow here - just the thick frost that gettingitsorted is talking about. :hello: gettingitsorted, it looks like we live quite close to each other!

I'm not normally up this early on a Saturday, but I'm going into school to panic a little more ahead of the dreaded Ofsted. I'll only be there for a couple of hours, but it has to be timed with when other people go in as I don't have a key. OH, needless to say, is still in bed .

My dad is coming out of hospital today. OH and I were going to pop up and see him, but my mum says that he's not great company at the moment and he "doesn't want to see anyone". She spent most of her visit to hospital yesterday doing Sudoku! :D :rotfl: He's off morphine :j :j and off the antibiotics :j :j and has no pain in his hip (too damn right as he's got a brand new one!), which is the first time in 7 years!

My boys (Leicester Tigers) are playing rugby in Cardiff this afternoon. We should really be going, but we just don't have the money. Plus it's a cup that we don't hold in high esteem  Lucie - I fully sympathise you travelling to Leeds just to find that the match is postponed/called off.

Not sure what we'll be having for lunch. I really need to make soup, so I'll see what time I get back from school. I might subtly hint to OH that he makes it! Tonight we're going out for a meal with the parents of one of my friends and her little brother. Only snag is that my friend is in Australia! It will be nice to see them, anyway.

    Take care all

    Good morning,

No snow or frost down here, very sunny, although it is very cold.
As it is Saterday, its our normal trip to stand in a muddy field to watch DS play football, hes starting on the subs bench today, and his dad is coming to watch (i think, he is meant to be having them this weekend, but doesnt confirm anything but im used to that now!!!) so i hope he gets a chance to play. DS will go with his dad until tomorrow, but DD refuses to sleep, so at the moment im assuming that he is having her for the day, so im going to go into Plymouth for some retail therapy (and my second mystery shop!!!!) dont need much, but i tend to save anything i need to get for the day i do go in, to much hassle to go in every week. Its been nearly 2 weeks since i last went food shopping as well, so im really pleased, and i have my list all ready, and im determind to stick to it, and not go buying all the extras that i really dont need!!!!
Well, thats it for today, off for my shower now.
Take care, hope everybody has a lovely day xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Good morning all

It is a beautiful morning here, the sun is streaming through the streaks on my windows making wonderful patterns with the dust mites flying around. icon9.gif.

Off to a good start with the duvet washing today, first one is progressing well, WM hasn't packed up yet anyway. Carrying on with my "I want a chest freezer so I have to sort a space for it" campaign today. The paper mountain in going down, (I'm up to 1993 now icon7.gif).

Does anyone else hoard boxes? I realised I have dozens of them! anything wihch is a nice "useful" looking size is hoarded away in case of emergency. Same with tins, and I am sure it is only a year or two since I last surrendered my tin hoard to the recyclers (the pain!). Think I will have to start Ebaying to justify my box habit.

I am having an affair with my microfibre cloths. The satisfaction they give is better than.... am I allowed to say that on the daily thread

Well done mini's on passing 11+ses.
Congrats Brummiebabe icon7.gif and hugs to all regardless of whether you need 'em or not icon10.gif

Off for a passionate interlude with the dust mites ;)
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D
