Hello everyone
I'm having a quick sneak on MSE while at work. My only good news is that my little car passed its MoT after all that worrying. I just have to settle the mechanic's bill which is running at a couple of hundred quid.
I've had "the tap" from my boss today. She wants to have a chat with me this afternoon. When she is stressed her neck goes red - it was glowing red hot when she made the appointment for this afternoon so I think it's going to be a difficult chat. This job is alright, just a job really, but my time-keeping is dreadful - I am up in the middle of the night nearly every night so I am permanently wrecked and this is having a knock on effect. Though I do work beyond the end of the day and often take a short lunch - but of course these will not count. I am dreading this stupid chat - my colleagues have told me that in the past if they have had "chats" they have not been to praise or help solve a problem - simply to criticise and not in a constructive way.
Glad to hear PP is getting some help - she's a feisty one isn't she! I think it's good that she had a go at the consultant, maybe he will remember that she is a person and will try to approach her situation from other angles since he's obviously getting nowhere with his advice and recommendations so far.
Well gotta go now. Big cuddly hugs to everyone who needs them, especially for those in pain at the minute, whether physical or emotional.
Bye!
SnowyOwl0 -
morning all. big hugs to all who need them. not been around much as both dd and myself have had tonsilitus (didn't know you could get it as an adult, don't want it again in a hurry either!!!!!) still we not been eating much so things haven't been to bad on the moeny front. also had a nice surprise yesterday when i got my pay packet been back payed my wage increase to January so that eases things quite a bit, and hopefully we are nearly sorted with other money problems. kitchen cupboards had a clean last night, we have eaten everything right down, and i actually quite like my barer cupboard look, its much easier to find things, and i'm determined not to let them get too full up again.
b - fruit and toast
l - baked potatoes and cheesy beans
t - sausage and swede mash (ran out of potatoes so this a new experiment, lol)
have a great day all of you,
love

But ooh they are sooo lovely and just what i need to brighten the place up and give it personality as my house is just a big cream box and its annoying me! So im trying sooo hard to resist! But I want

Mr Penny-Pincher here again.
Don't think my better half will be out today, but she has asked me to thank everyone for their kind messages and she sends her love and regards back to all. She is not improving, but with her Lupus and other problems it difficult for the consultants. All they know is her liver, bowels and kidneys arent working well and there isnt anything that can be done without making the Lupus worse, but its the Lupus that has caused these problems to begin with. It makes no sense, but they have started her on some auto-immune drugs which they give to Liver transplant patients to see if her body will stop attacking itself.
Can I just say that this forum is really nice and sincere and can see now why my missus is always on here. I was looking through some of the site last night and was very impressed by all the information available.
Today I have:
Had the washing machine on and have hung items on washing line
Made the beds
Dry dusted the wooden floors downstairs
Cleaned the brass handles on doors downstairs
I am really loving this forum. Dont think I'm going to let Mrs Penny-Pincher back on it lol. I am going to have a look through for an hour or so before leaving to see her.

Woohoooooo! The bunch of incompetents at HSBC have finally sorted out the balance transfer I asked for. And the lovely folk at Sainsburys Bank (where the balance used to be) have also paid my annual cashback payment. It's only £17.08 (at 0.25% of spend!) but every little helps (I probably shouldn't say this about Sainsburys when those words are the slogan of its biggest rival - LOL) and it's a fab deal on a card that was on 0% interest already
Now I just have to wait for my statement date to see how much, if any, interest I've been cost on the Sainsburys card due to HSBC's rubbish service. It should only be a few days but I'm not sure how many. If it's over £5 I'll be writing a strongly worded letter to HSBC asking them for some cash
johanne - sorry you're still sick, but at least you have one boss who's understanding! Do you already qualify for sick pay? My boss is in one of her moods today as well. Probably something to do with a heated phone discussion she had with our main contractor this morning, and the fact that I told her I have to be away on jury service during our next really busy period
FunkyFairy - I hope your tooth gets sortedI've been avoiding a checkup for a little while now, but I will make an appointment during my week off work at the beginning of May. Which is when I will also see if I can get a free haircut at Toni and Guy's Academy (or I think if you get it coloured as well it's £25 - still a bargain!), book in to see the GP (cos I haven't had a period for ages and there's no obvious reason for it!) It's just going to be one of those "getting stuff sorted" weeks.
EDITED TO SAY: Mr P-P - If what you said yesterday is anything to go by, it sounds like "not letting PP" do anything could have serious consequences for your family jewels :rotfl: Besides which, we miss herPlease give her back, please please

MURPHY'S NO MORE PIES CLUB MEMBER #1240 -
Welcome Mr P-P!! We just knew you'd feel right at home here. After a while browsing, you'll have loads to pass on to P-P when you see her and keep her up to date with the news.
Send her lots of love.
Well, the big news from here is that DS has an unexpected day off school - because there's been a MURDER right outside the school gates, last night!!
     What a lovely place we live in!
Apparently some poor soul was fatally stabbed - and this right where some other poor soul received a fatal head trauma not so very long ago. Is it any wonder we drive DS to school, even though its within walking distance, and escort him right up to the doors! Scary stuff.
So, all my plans for today have gone right out the window. However, DH has made a batch of coconut macaroons which have turned out very well. I've used the remainder of the sweetened condensed milk in a jelly made with unflavoured gelatine combined with a tin of peach slices in fruit juice. Remains to be seen what it comes out like - but nothing ventured, nothing gained. I was going to use it to combine with chocolate for icing the macaroons, but it seems somebody ate the chocolate. No, it wasn't me. Honest. :A
I've done one load of bedlinen washing, which has dried in the force 8 gale that's blowing out there - and the white washing is undergoing the same treatment, at the moment. If you see white shirts flying past your windows, they'll probably be mine.
The poor old Guinea Pig has been put in his outdoor hutch today - I bet that's been a bit of a shock to the system - but I need to give his indoor cage a good old scrub out, I think he had friends round the other night and they've painted the walls with I don't know what and now he can't see out. He'll enjoy it when he comes back in, I'm sure!
DH is on duty for dinner tonight, so :
B : Mummy bread and marmite
L : Couscous with mackerel, cucumber and lemon juice
D : Sausage casserole and rice.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Hello everyone and welcome back Mr PP,sorry to hear your OH is still incarcerated in hospital
Bargain Rzl,I don't envy you doing jury service,I've not done it myself but really don't fancy it - the responsibility!
I'm feeling very virtuous as I have been for a swim this morning.Twenty lengths and I could have done another ten.It is literally years since I swam properly.I went to a ladies only session so it was very quiet, lots of sedate breast stroke going on.I felt a bit silly because I have to swim wearing my glasses (otherwise I'd crash! :rotfl: ) but I wasn't the only one.I will definitely make this a regular Thursday thing.
Breakfast- Toast and honey + orange juice
Lunch - salad with a whole haloumi cheese  Which is v.salty and has given me a raging thirst  and an apple
Supper - Chick pea and veg curry with naan bread, followed by canteloupe melon.0 -
Have just received another book from ebay (I can't resist that site!:o ) with lots of recipes for using bisquick. They look yummy and I think I posted a recipe on the index for making your own bisquick version. I will try to get around to popping on some of these recipes for using the mix.
Breakfast - Toast and honey, hot water and lemon
lunch - sardine sarnies
Dinner- spaghetti bolognaise (using up some of the soy mince)
Weather here is very blustery, can't believe the windowcleaner is out in this!
Catowen - We are off to florida in 3 weeks time :j getting excited now!
I am going to have to go back through your posts soon for advice on what to give my 22 year old when she has her wisdom teeth out. Hope you are well and truly over it now!
Funky fairy - hope your tooth is better soon!
love to PP as well! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
Jan grocery challenge £35.77/£1200 -
Hi everyone!
Regards to PP- hope she's home soon.
Have hoovered throughout today and done a general tidy up. Will do a dark wash when I get back.
Popped into Sainsbury's on the way in to get the small person some strawberries for a surprise for his lunch tomorrow [1/2 price organic :j ] as he's done so well at school that I want to do him a surprise Easter lunch for his last day tomorrow-I've got him an Easter bunny lolly and a creme egg which we got free with clubcard deal. Have also checked out Easter Eggs and will get him the Iceage 2 one as he's dead keen on elephants and its got an mammoth on the front! OH is a true chocoholic and has requested a big bar rather than an egg as he reckons he gets more that way [probably right but not quite the same is it!!]
Am doing sardine burgers tonight as it's quick and the small person is strutting his funky stuff at the school disco tonight. Being the nosy Mother I am I asked if he's be dancing with a gal [as he calls them] during the slow dances- he looked at me as if I was a sandwich short of a picnic and then very slowly in words of one syllable said "Mummy I won't be dancing...I shall be eating crisps and running round the hall!" How happy am I that I'm now the ex PTA chairman and don't have to help!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :T
