    Happy Birthday Funky Fairy! :D

    WARNING [moan + essay]

Feel poopy today... face is not so swollen now but still have tongue blisters, mouth ulcers and infected gums which are bleeding and also (sorry to be graphic..) oozing infection!! eeeewww! REeeeeeeeally dont feel like going into work tomorrow but i gotta!!! Only 3 more days till i move training stores though! :j Hopefully i'll know no-one at my next store so will have a clean start unlike in Chester where my manager is an old manager of mine and the assistant manager is flatmates with someone who used to work with my boyfriend so knows about his sacking and criminal conviction for theft! :( So theyve been making it hard for me.. :( Plus they are just big money-greedy posh and snooty poopy heads  :D :rotfl:

Speaking of poopyheads....OH is not talking to me.. had a row over nothing really yesterday?! I said something about him leaving me out of the camp arrangements for scouts next weekend and so im gonna be pushed for getting my things seen as IM working (unlike some  ) and still dont know what the hell im doing regarding scouting so need some information i.e. a kit list!!! ..... he took a strop that i said he was leaving me out.....so he hasnt been speaking to me yesterday or today  until b4 when he rang and dropped it on my he'll be camping from the thursday night with his new bosom-buddy (who i dont like cos the guy sees more of my OH than i do and i know hes a bad influence so im convinced OH is going down the bad path again and i cant seem to stop him)

Not a big deal except we had planned for him to take my luggage up to camp on the friday so i can get home from work and head straight up there without having to worry so thats scrapped i have to now take all my own stuff... BUT god knows HOW im gonna get to the camp cos a) ive got no transport and B) i dunno where it is and wont be home from work in time to go with the kids so WAS meant to be getting a lift off OH and the Bosom-buddy who were coming back for equipment etc!  Really dunno why im bothering... its not like the kids actually listen to me anyway or would miss me.. they all adore my OH and the other leader and i just stand there like a potato! :(

Seriously tempted to jack scouts and my OH in. Hes being immature and a bit of a "fool" to put it nicely and without expletives! Just dont think hes worth the bother at the moment... im sick of trying to sort his life out for him and look after him and myself... when hes older than me and still lives at home so has less than 1/2 the responsibilities i do! All i seem to be at the minute is a cash machine (which i realllllly cant afford anymore - im £100 overdrawn... he owes me £100! ) oh and someone to "pop in and see" for 5 minutes when his new buddy isnt about to play playstation with or "sit off" drinkin beer + smoking all day cos neither of them are working!!

Lately i find myself thinking like Bargain Rzl and realising im happier alone and maybe just not meant to be in a couple?!

    URGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

    [/moan + essay]

    On a better note....

Spent £7 in the greengrocers today... bought courgettes which ive never had before  But will go looksie in a min for a recipe cos im trying to widen my horizons! :p

Also got a FREE prestige pressure cooker today! Parents bought it for my nan as a replacement a whileback but she moaned she couldnt manage it after using it once.. so they couldnt take it back.. been sitting under my mums stairs since so shes dug it out and brought it down! Just done a lovely veggie soup in it :j Got some reduced lamb out the freezer too to do lamb stew tomorrow evening in it too! :D

Trying to list some things on ebay as need some cash desperately... forgot how boring and tiring it was doing the listings though!

Going to make up some salad and some fruit salad later (which only soft fruit cos i cant eat anything that requires chewing at the min :rotfl: ) to use in pack lunches etc next few days! On a health food kick again... mum got me some cool little containers so i should be able to take raisins etc to snack on on the train instead of choc + crisps! Cheaper too ;)

Think tea will be squishy chips + runny egg as need to use eggs up and have loads of tatas and need something soft! :o

Early night cos work tomorrow and the start of my new drive to try and carry on with OS and MSEing even if i am working stupid hours because at the end of the day its my health and wallet thats benefitting! :j :j

    (((((hugs to everyone))))

Moggins I hope you get your prob sorted.
VickyA,you do not make me feel the urge to go back to teaching :D
Melancholly I've just had something very dull with pasta for tea too!
Very rushed evening-me running around to feed ds1+2 before judo and take dd to a party with all her emergency meds and egg-free cake(I dread parties) and cook dull pasta for OH and I,before rushing out to fetch dd(still in one piece, phew!) whilst OH rushes out to judo with boys.

Parties are a nightmare for a parent of an allergic child.Sometimes I trust the party child's mother completely and know they'll be fine with the epipen, but others look at me with horror if I present them with life-saving injections and say 'if she starts having trouble breathing,or loses consciousness, you stick this in her thigh and dial 999' can't think why! So either I have to stay at the party(aaagh!) or we decline the invite.Anyway I'm always relieved when it's time to go and collect her.

Hope eveyone has had a good day.Happy Birthday to Funky fairy, and I'm glad to hear Penny Pincher is on the mend.

I ended up in town and bought a joint of lamb (for 3/4 people), a joint of pork with apple and herb stuffing (also for 3/4 people) and a medium pack of stewing steak, reduced to £4.70. Should keep my freezer going for a while. Also went to a local charity shop and got a pair of river island jeans (that actually fit me properly!) for £2.50.

When I got home I tried DS (2 and 1/2 yrs) with his Thomas pants. I said to him that he could either wear his pants, but tell me when he needed the toilet, or he could wear his nappy. He promptly tooks his pants off, handed them to me and grabbed the nappy instead:D . I suppose there s always tomorrow.

Have a good evening all - POwie

Got home from work to find an official-looking brown envelope awaiting, with a court address on the back. Jury service (my first). 22nd May onwards. Need to find out from my HR department what their policy is on wages during jury service - if I'm fully covered then I'll be looking forward to my 2 weeks off work right around a major deadline :D If not, it screws up my entire savings target for the year. So I hope it's taken care of (my salary exceeds the max daily rate paid by the court, and any reduction even for 2 weeks will jeopardise my plans to buy my own place). Don't know what the standard procedure is, but one of my closest colleagues had JS a couple of years ago so I'll speak to her to get the gen before going to my boss and HR. I know it's my duty but I hate being told I have to do something IYKWIM!!!! (Ironically my housemate, who is a LOT older than me and has done it twice, is dying to be called up again.)

johanne - :grouphug: Nothing wrong with wanting to be single, but I wouldn't judge it on the basis of one bad patch with an OH who's been a friend for ages (as I seem to remember is the case with you?). In my case I'd been permanently and happily single for the first 25 years of my life, before meeting XBF and developing an angsty on-off relationship with him principally because I knew how much he liked me and I wanted to give him a go IYKWIM. If you have been in fulfilling relationships before, it may well be that you just haven't found the right guy yet. As people keep telling me  which could be true but I kind of hope it isn't - I thrive on singledom :p

Speaking of which, MATH, what sort of a girl do you think I am :p:D P.S. The Fisherman's Pie was delicious (despite me forgetting to add any salt or pepper to the sauce  ) and made 4 extra portions for the freezer (i.e. humungous as well as delicious)!

Two more things for johanne - (1) did you get the PMs I sent you on Monday about the meet? Let me know :D (2) courgettes - there was a very recent thread about what to do with them - personal favourite is just basted in butter or olive oil and then roasted

Thanks for telling us about PP Mr PP. It's a shame they haven't got any answers. It's Thursday here, 7.15am and I've having my morning cuppa before getting ready for work. I leave in an hour. The joys of living a few minutes away from it.

Joanne you sound right fed up with life atm. Hope good times are just around the corner. Try and see the rainbows sometimes.
Rzl & Math pmsl :D I am going to try making a fish pie. It's not really done here but they sound so nice. I've stopped buying a lot of fresh fish here as living inland it's *imported* from God knows where. I use to live on the coast growing up, and it sort of spoiled me in regards to fish. Best go and put the war paint on. :D Not that I need it. :p
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

I know what you mean AussieLass, my grandparents pre-nursing-home spent their retirement in Norfolk having their fish delivered by a little electric fish van. The fish was so fresh you could eat the bones whole cos they were so soft and tender  but I haven't had access to that for a while and I do still like fish a lot :D

P.S. AussieLass, recipe I use for fish pies is as follows. Scrub 6-8 potatoes but don't peel them. Put them on to boil. Then on a low heat on another ring on the cooker, make up a sauce, starting with 2oz butter and 2oz plain flour, adding 1pt of milk and when its on the point of thickening, 3-4ox of grated cheddar or similar cheese + pinch salt + pepper to taste. Zap 2 largish cod fillets for 2-3 mins in the microwave, then remove the skin if it had any on the first place, and break into flakes. Put flaked fish plus drained contents of one small tin of prawns in the bottom of a large oven dish. Once the sauce is nice and thick, pour it over the fish/prawns and mix up. Drain the spuds, mash (still in skins) with a bit of milk and butter, and spread the mask out on the top of the fish/sauce in the oven dish. (You could now grate some cheese on the top, but I don't). Stick the dish under the grill for a few mins to go all crispy on top  Serve with peas.
