    Thanks Queenie :D

DH went out in the cold and the rain last night to get me some extra strong painkillers and touch wood they seem to be working :) Mum also gave me £40 to pay off my overdraft yesterday, bless her :D So I am actually ending the month with no overdraft and plenty of food still in the cupboard. I had a bit of a frenzy last night and gutted the kitchen so just the living room and dining room to do and perhaps I can dye my hair today. I'm beginning to resemble Cruella here :D

    Morning All

Big day today as I finally get to see OH again after almost a month. Just wish I was a bit more organised & slightly less hairy - I think ill be spending all morning with 'nads' plastered to various areas of my flesh.

Am kicking myself HARD for my stupidity. First I decide i dont want promotion so i let three weeks go by after being invited to apply without even looking at the forms. THEN i decide i do want to go for it or 'should' go for it - spend almost two days filling in the application - send it off via electronic submission and THEN realize i have done it in essay form and it should have been in bullet points. ... what can i say but 'oh well i didnt really want the job anyway' !? grrr.

Nothing very OS happening in my life today. Shepherds pie for tonight wa smade yesterday, bread for the week has been baked and stored/frozen, as have cakes and puddings.

    Queenie
thanks for your thoughts regarding my dog -he seems none the worse for wear this mornng but I am going to have to get OH to put up some new fencing for me - despite the fence the other dog got through being THEIR boundary not mine.
Moggins glad the pain kilers seem to be working - hope it lasts.
Catowen I hope your day continues as well as it has started and that you manage to eat something yummy.
SnowyOwl i hope that as i am typing this youre deep in restful slumber and having some wicked dreams to go with it ;)

Hope everyone else has a nice day - im off to defuzz and dye hair and try to find my makeup bag - its lovely to see OH but SOOO much simpler when its just me and the dog!

    Morning all,

just a 'quickie' still on the gat up at 8.30am routine, so showered, teeth cleaned etc.....OH dowb stairs getting the brekkie, Branflakes, muslie and toast, then hes off to the allotment and I have an appointment with the iron and a load of ironing.....

Bright morning, the heat has not kickd in for the past two days except very early in the morning, so guess it may soon be time to turn the thermo down and enjoy a little natural warmth from the big thing i the sky...... heres hoping anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing really planned for today, I did the bedroom and bathroom yesterday, the living room was dusted, will just run the hoover over the rug before I come up to do the ironong. I iron in my sewing room as the board is kept permanatly up in there ready to use when I am sewing.

(((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs them, I see there is nothing from PP so guess they have kept her in.......not a very good night again last night, I have to do something gabout it, starting to get me down a bit, have not been a good sleeper for years, but it seems to be getting worse, not helped by the OH who twitches when he is dreaming, which he does quite a lot!!!!!

    Morning :hello:

Just a quick one from me today as will have a busy day at work, especially as control-freak boss is back in the office after three days away  and guess what, our project is currently being delayed so nothing has come of the promise that she would be leaving  I am going to make some enquiries within the company about other positions that might be going - I'd prefer not to have to change employers this year so it looks good and stable on my mortgage application next year. Well, what do I have to look forward to in the short term - Easter weekend (2.5 weeks to go); May Day (4.5 weeks to go) followed by the rest of that week off work and culminating in the Blackpool trip :j :j :j am feeling better already!

XBF has asked me to a concert this evening - some sort of avant-garde world music thing I think - not something I'd have chosen but hey, I won't knock it till I've tried it.

Breakfast was Oatso Simple - am just using up my stocks (three more days' supply left) and then I'm going to slash my costs by preparing my own porridge mix using value oats. I've got a bag of dark muscovado sugar in the cupboard which needs using up, and half a jar of strawberry jam, so I think I'll be using these as flavourings before I move on to anything super-healthy

Lunch will either be mushroom soup or chicken pasta - I've brought both to work for convenience. The one I don't have can stay in the fridge until tomorrow.

Dinner - who knows, thanks to going out to this concert. Might improvise something when I get home, like toasted ciabatta with cheese and marmite

Hugs to all, hope PP's ok, and I'm getting soooooo excited about the OS meet :D

    Good morning

I haven't been on here for a few days, it looks as if there have been some tough days for some people, so (((hugs))) to those who need them. I will have a read shortly of previous days to catch up.

Yesterday we had dentist appointments - I have to go back tomorrow for a filling repair, the dentist said it has to be done this week, cos of new NHS contracts; she isn't sure whether she will be signing it. She showed it to me - it is so big it came in a ring folder, it is full of mistakes & correction sheets, and some dentists apparently haven't even received theirs yet & they have to be signed by tomorrow. I have been grateful to still have an NHS dentist who I know & is local. My DD & her babies can't get one in Portsmouth, so she comes here for the dentist, which is fine for her cos she combines it with a visit to us! I shall know by next week whether I still have NHS treatment or whether I shall have to become a private patient. (That will cut down my visits!)

    Have a good day.

Morning everyone! I don't normally get to do this but have day off today due to work striking!

So, I'm going to enjoy the unexpected time off and do all my jobs I have been meaning to do for a while.

Still in pjs at mo, :D watching a bit of telly ( its awful! bit like a cheaper version of Trisha!)

Going to clean bedrooms today, go to bank and close my accout- couldn't do it by letter apparently

And tonight I'm going to attempt to make toad in the hole ( know it's easy, but never done it before!) and maybe BS fruit cobbler.

Have a good day everyone x

    Morning all!

Well, I finally did my ironing last night (I'd been putting it off for 3 weeks, oops!)

Today is a day at home with DD, and we are going to do some cleaning, something else I've been putting off for yonks!

The aim is our room, her room, sewing room, bathroom and my office.

So, far, we've erm, cleaned the downstairs loo, half dusted the main bedroom, stripped the bedlinen and that's washing away in the WM, let's hope it stays dry and windy so I can get it out on the line, although I don't really hold out much hope as there are some very ominous clouds out there.

Normally do some baking today, but cleaning is going to take place of that this morning. We may however, bake some biccies this afternoon!

On an aside, we have a high tog-rated feather duvet on the bed at the moment, which is great in the night to go to sleep, but then wake up too hot (w/o the heating being on) - do you think it is too early to change to lighter weight duvet, perhaps with a throw over it?

Hope everyone has a good day out there. ((hugs)) to all that need them.
PP hasn't posted yet, so I'm hoping that she's ok.

We have a goose down duvet which I had to take off the bed for the very same reason, am thinking of selling it, its almost brand new. We have a 10.5 tog duvet and a quilt on the bed, unless its very cold the quilt stays folded at the bottom of the bed, and we are nice and cosy, although I must say last night I had a hottie when I went to bed, and pulled up the quilt, was feeling chilly after I went and slept for an hour downstairs!!! I woke in the middle of the night and had to take the quilt off.... too hot!!!!

    Morning all,
Just done my baking;4 loaves worth of dough rising,2 doz carrot and apple muffins in the oven(mix looked a bit wet,so not sure how they'll come out) and 2 doz flapjacks with another 2 doz to go in once the cooked ones are out of their tins.

Not sure whether to put washing out today. It's sunny but it keeps raining off and on.

I ought to make a few little egg-free cakes for my dd to take to a party tomorrow, luckily I have some pink buttercream left over from her own party last week.

The mother of the child whose party it is asked me if my dd was allowed to eat Utterly Butterly.I said I had no idea what was in that, she said 'well what do you use?',I said 'butter',she looked gobsmacked - I can't be the only person who thinks churned cream is a better food than hardened oils, chemicals, colours and other additives. We don't eat vast quantities of butter but my rule of thumb is, if I can by the things listed in the ingredients to cook with in my own home then it's OK.I'm sure 'spreads' don't pass my test ;)

    Morning all

SnowyOwl - hope you got some sleep in the end, but being an Owl, I guess its no surprise you're awake when everyone else is asleep, eh? ;)

Catowen - congratulations on your unexpected free day! Love it when that happens. :D

Brokenwings - awww, you take me back to my courting days! Enjoy all the defuzzing and anticipation, its almost as much fun as the being reunited. Well .. almost. ;):o

Tootles - my DH gets active in his sleep, too. Couple of nights ago, he sat up, burped, said "that hurts!", then lay back down - all fast asleep. He will also lay on his back with one leg up, bent at the knee, and his other leg across that knee at the ankle. Consequently, if its the leg that's on my side, as it waves about like a tree in the wind, I get half a ton of leg land on me - having fallen from a great height - from time to time. Couple that with a tendency to put his arm behind his head with his elbow poking up in the air - which then falls like a stone onto the side of my head - and we're not talking relaxed unbroken sleep. He wonders why, sometimes, I opt to sleep in an armchair. So I completely sympathise!

LouB - you mean it is possible to achieve a cheaper version of Trisha???? Ah well, at least its moneysaving ... :D

Well its a lovely day here in la casa PoshPaws. DH has gone to school with DS - the school is attending a Spring Festival at Rochester Cathedral and he's going to help accompany the kids all the way there (its quite a walk for littlies!), stay with them for the day, and all the way back. DS is absolutely bouncing off the walls with excitement about having his Dad with him for the day and insisted that DH dress "very very smart" - so lets hope it doesn't rain on the poor thing! I have to report to the Cathedral for 1pm in order to watch the Service and witness DS's class performing their Springtime dance, which they've been practicing every day for the last three weeks. Should be great!

So, I've walked the dogs, done a blitz of all the household "hot spots", hung out the wet washing, put the WM on, cleaned the loo and now just have the kitchen to sort out, vacuum the lower level of the house and tidy the birdies before getting spruced up into best bib and tucker ready to leave at 12.30.

DH is doing well on staying off the booze so that we can make it to rent day without having to sell something vital - he's on his third booze free day. I think accompanying the kids today was a good motivator, he didn't want to have to do that stinking of booze. Still, credit where credit's due - let hope he can keep it up.

B : stewed apple & plum on oats, with banana and milk.
L : no idea - or when I'll get to be able to have it!
D : pasta bake - using up a pasta sauce jar which was languishing in the cupboard.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
