The way to go is single duvets each. No wind tunnels, no gaps, no no duvet cos it's wrapped round the male of the house tighter than Jordan's jeans - just sheer bliss. Also means that I get to keep warm when forced to get out of bed and walk round to the other side and get back in again!!0

Terry Pratchett night here, after chicken and roast spuds for tea. I got my parcel of books through this morning from a kind person on Downsizer. I only had to pay £5 for the postage and I now have nine books to readOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

You know something - all of you with restless OH's - this is one of the many reasons why I don't really enjoy being in a relationship
My ex is just a big sweaty snorer, plus he's the "let's have a cuddle" type while I'm the "don't come anywhere near me with your big sweaty arms and second-hand breath when I'm trying to fall asleep" type
I love having a bed to myselfOperation Get in Shape

I do like my sleep thriftlady
I can get away without much, quantity-wise, but QUALITY sleep is very important to me.
I'm off to a concert this evening with XBF but now that he's my XBF it means I get to go home afterwards for plenty of quality sleep...
Are you getting some idea about why I'm pretty sure I don't want to have babies?Operation Get in Shape

Sounds good to me:D thriftlady! have just done a course on nutrition and some margarines and spreads are far worse for you than butter! plus they don't taste a patch on butter!!;)

Hi everyone. I'm enjoying a day at home too as I'm on strike as well. It's funny, my road must be mostly public sector workers - there are cars on drives today that aren't usually there in the day. I'm sure it can't be a coincidence.
STill, it means I got to go to the gym this morning. I had a good session and then a swim. Bliss! It was really quiet and the people were different from the evening crowd. Some mums, plenty of retired people. It felt so much more relaxed than in the evening when the busy people are squeezing it into their busy lives iykwim.
I'll be able to pick DS up from school at 4pm instead of nearly 6pm. Yay! We played Monopoly on Sunday night and he was so ruthless! OH was too afraid to join in, we were so horrible. I ended up seriously bankrupt and he was rolling in money. Methinks I have trained him well....... :rotfl:
Just off out now to pay in a cheque and post an ebay parcel.
My new book The Conjuror's Bird arrived in this morning's post. Amazon marketplace of course. Also DS's new (ebay new) cub sweatshirt arrived in the same delivery. That's a £10 book and a £15 jumper. And I paid £12.70 including delivery and didn't have to leave the house, use petrol and pay for parking. I love MSE. It has certainly changed the way I live my life.
Thanks to all you wonderful people out there for all your tips, encouragement and ideas. Oh, I almost forgot, you make me laugh too!

Hi everyone
Have had very busy day at work today and am just off to get the small person from Chess club. Good news yesterday re him- we've made it through the first screening process of his statementing and the LEA are still asking for more info so fingers crossed! Was told by the SENCO yesterday that he's had the best year ever both behaviour wise and academically wise so am hopeful!
Am cheating tonight and just producing pasta with pesto as am off out on the razzle later!

Afternoon all
Well, contrary to popular belief, 25 out of 27 of my class turned up today for school. Most of the schools were closed round here and we were laying bets on how many children wouldn't turn up. Not many it seems!
I can't believe that it's only 3 days to go until the end of term. On Friday we're buying lunch in. Not very healthy, but we're having pizza so that we can have a nice relaxing afternoon. No doubt we'll get round to making Easter cards on Friday afternoon............. or doing Science revision.
Some of you may remember that I'm going to be on "Teachers' TV". They came to film me "asking a question" about time management for new teachers. They've just sent me the tape of their "findings", including the bit where I ask the question (seem to have cut out the bit about me being worried about OH running off with Kylie................ ). Anyway, it's confirmed. I AM A FAT BIFFA. Gosh, I look terrible! One of the pieces of advice was that I should exercise more. Too damn right after looking at myself on tv. Well, if that doesn't give me the push that I need, nothing will! Plus, my voice sounds awful. Is that really me? They're coming in on Thursday to film my "reactions" to the findings. Would it be wrong of me to say "yes, I'm fat!"?
Spag bol tonight. We've got plenty of veggies and lentils in it, so it's at least healthy! I had made a lovely bean salad for lunch, which was really tasty.
I'd better go as I've got loads of marking to do and need to get home to have a nice cuppa!
