    Morning everyone :hello::hello::hello:

I can't sleep. Eeek, it's driving me crazy!! This time 24 hours ago I was up writing my essay and fantasizing about getting into bed. The essay is done and dusted and got submitted yesterday...but still sleep is avoiding me like the plague.

There ain't that much to tell you right now. I am hoping all those 'orrible days people experienced yesterday are history and things brighten up for you. Freya - you can be amazed what can be done with even the most unpromising of properties. My last place was a rundown ramshackle hovel which smelt of dog pee (and human pee in the bathroom...ugh!!!!!!!!) and was infested by fleas when I first moved in. Taking the top layer off everything solved most of the immediate problems, then slapping up some plain cheap wallpaper and putting down a basic carpet and/or vinyl as appropriate absolutely transformed the place. It's daunting, but think positively on it. As it's not as you want then you'll be motivated to change it to just as you want it, rather than just putting up with someone else's almost acceptable attempts. Make OH get his wallet out, the meanie!

Johanne...you're sounding a lot more positive, hope this continues.

That's all everyone, I am going to go and have attempt number two at getting some Zzzzzzz in.

    Bye!

    :hello: Gooooood Morning :hello:

Snowy - I think because you've been so busy/under pressure with all the work you've had to do that you probably need to re-train your body into regular sleeping habits again. I wish you luck!

cat - I think it's a great idea to have your MD next weekend. It takes some of the pressure and hype out of the equation and I'm optimistic it will be a much more rewarding experience for you all.

moggins - good to see you back :)

joannasmum - Sorry you're feeling sad that you missed your DD's first steps. But try and think of it this way, who's to say she hasn't been practising in her cot for a few days and no one knew anyway? Which ever time *you* see her taking steps for the first time, will *always* be her "first steps" in your heart and mind.

tiptoes - so sorry to read your post ((hugs)) Take each day as it comes and try not to feel too overwhelmed by all that is going on. Just deal with one step at a time.

tootles - Delighted your smoke alarm is working and the batteries fully charged once again.

brokenwings - :o Oh your poor dog!! :( Must have been very scarey for both of you!!

PP - hoping "no news is good news" ?

Had quite a productive day yesterday, but then Monday's often are as it's a good day to straighten the house after the weekend. Still adjusting to the time change (I'm sure that in previous years the time changes have happened during school breaks; probably why I've found them easier before  )

Tried a new recipe for dhal yesterday and it's by far the best recipe I've tried to date. So, that will now go into the recipe binder as a favourite :) and there's still enough left over for my lunch today :j Renewed all library books by phone so I have another 3 wks to finish them in, which is great as it takes us through the first half of the Easter Holidays.

    B: Forest fruit smoothies
L: l/o dhal (packed lunches: grated carrot, cheese and sultana sandwiches, fruit, everyday biscuits)
D: Mushroom Risotto, green salad; jelly fluff (blackcurrant this time :D )
Organising a trip out for Saturday for the boys and their mates, so need to think about what to feed 4 hungry lads. It was never meant to be a day out, just an outing but it's escalated that I'm taking them out *all* day so naturally that involves food and by the sounds of it, it seems to have been taken as read that I'll be the one paying for them all to. Hmm, best laid plans and all that

 Must check in at Tesco's and see if they have any more BOGOF chickens that I can snap up.

Sunday I attempted cooking my lamb in a bag (the one's I snapped up for 10p a few weeks ago). Bit wary of using a bag to be honest. Turned out a real treat! And got double duty out of the bag; used it first to freeze the joint in, quick rinse and dry and then roasted the meat in it too (no grease splattered oven :j ) :D Only dodgy moment was getting the meat out of the bag without spilling all the juices that were still in the bag. Bit of palava but did it without getting it completely everywhere  I think chickens will be easier to cook and remove
Hoping today looks brighter for those who are going through tough times.

    Take care, all

I can see why you would achieve more at home :D (Nothing beats a cosy baggy jumper and jeans for working in ;) ) I don't think I'd survive in an open plan office environment - everyone would be able to see me counting on my fingers  :o;) )

I work at home every day  my greatest distraction is ... the computer :o

  • Morning all :j

WM is on, as is TD, unfortunately as I'm working, they've predicted rain later so I can't hang my washing on the line

I'm bathed and dressed, DD has had her cereal and I've had my coffee. Just about to make packed lunches - ham for DD and tuna and sweetcorn for DH and I.

Dinner will be chicken korma tonight - yum yum.

Must dash as I want to clean the toilet before I go..... to work that is ;)

(((hugs))) to all that need/want them

    Good morning everyone,

Snowy - hope you have finally gotton some sleep!!!!

Apple - good luck from working from home, like Queenie says, i work from home and my distraction is the computer (MSE mainly!!!)

Queenie - Thank you for your support re MD, children finally calmed down just before bedtime after a bit of a telling off from my mum (even at my age, sometimes you still need your mum!!!! ) and we are all happy with making next week a lovely day, as Sunday was such a wash out!!!!

Feeling ok at the moment, my jaw isnt aching as much as it has been (although my tongue still feels awful) so might treat myself to something nice to eat, as i dont seem to have eaten anything other than soft stuff for weeks!!! Only one little one, so think we will have a little trip into Plymouth and do a little window shopping. I do have a few things i need to get but (hopefully) i wont be spending too much. The little one loves it when its just the two of us, but i do have to keep it quiet from my two, or they wont want to go to school!!!!
Change of plan.........Little ones mum has just phoned, and little one has been sick all night, so i have a day off!!! YEAH for me :T , shame for little one, but hopefully she will be better tomorrow.
AND now my post has come, and lovely mum has sent me £10 to buy myself something and hope my two have calmed down. Maybe today is going to be a lovely day!!!!
Well, better go and decide what im going to do, hope everyone else has a great day, and definatly (((hugs))) for everyone today,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
