Jo - sorry you had a bad day (I know I shouldn't but I had a little giggle - it reminded me of something you'd see in a Carry On film
) When everything goes wrong.
I think what I'm trying to say is we've all had days when everything goes wrong - so you can sympathise with a little smile - as I try to look back on my huge mistakes/traumatic days and try to see the funny side
If it's any consolation, this morning when I was doing my hair - I reached for the hairspray and promptly sprayed shaving gel all over my head, and therefore had to rewash my hair before going to work. Not funny at the time - but I can laugh now!!
Anyway hope your day improves!!
Jo xSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Oh dear - so many people are having an awful day! :grouphug:
Went into Lidl on the way home to browse their kitchenware, and managed to spend only £10 :T ...
...so far...
2-piece cake tin £1.99, packet clips 99p, plughole filters 99p, bottle stopper 99p, kitchen scales £4.99.
And I'll be back - just as soon as I can figure out where a bit more money might come from without ruining all my good intentions to be frugal through April and May!Operation Get in Shape

Evening all
I tried to post earlier, but our damn broadband connection decided to not let me post! Ah well. Back to the drawing board.
We had a hectic weekend with my parents up in sunny Lincolnshire. OH and I popped into Lincoln on Saturday to choose our wedding invitations. There was only one sort that we liked, which is lucky that we didn't agonise for hours. They're very simple, but very classy! After that, we went into the cathedral. I hadn't been in for ages, even though I've been back lots of times. OH had never been in, so I treated him to a guided tour (by me) round. It's still as glorious as I remember. I've always wanted to get married there, but not being a member of the cathedral community I can't
Ah well, just have to settle for a little village church that I've been going to since before I was born!
OH and I cooked for my mum yesterday. She didn't materialise until 11.30am, even my dad with his brand new hip had taken her copious amounts of tea. My brother is now back from his travels in Australia, so it was a family reunion. My gran and grandpa turned up too. Even grandpa ate everything. He's got this swallowing problem (age of 90) and so can't have anything too elaborate, but everyone seemed to love our beef casserole, mash and veggies.
Actually, I had to tell you all about my trip to the butcher on Friday to get the meat for the beef casserole. When I was in there, a lady came in with two youngish boys. They were talking about different cuts of lamb (!) and looking at the diagram on the wall. Anyway, one of them asked "where is the scrag?" The butcher immediately explained and promptly brought out a piece to show them................... even though they were actually buying beef! What fantastic customer service!
Only 4 more days of school to go........ including tomorrow when none of the teaching assistants are in because of the strike. I'm wondering how many children will turn up as most of the other schools in the town have all closed.
See you later

Oh dear! Lots of bad days today, hope things soon improve for you all. There are lots of positive vibes coming to you from all the OS's.
I've had a couple of good days though & hope you won't mind me sharing with you all.
I had a very exciting, emotional, happy day yesterday. DD & BF & DS2 came for lunch as expected but DS1 who I haven't seen or heard from in 2 years was also here. The best Mothers Day present I could have had. We had a lovely family lunch, chatting & laughing together. I had the best time.
He has mental health issues & so now he's back in my life I'll just start worrying about specific things rather than the vague worries I've had for 2 years. I knew he was sort of OK 'cos a couple of people told me they'd seen him.
When he goes through a bad time he always thinks we'd be better off without him & he does a flit, it's never been as long as this before though, 6 months maximum, so it's been really hard. Anyway, now I have to work on keeping him in my life. He'll be 30 this year so I can't help him if he won't let me, it's hard though, he's still my 'baby' after all.
Today Boots paid me £1.00 to take a No7 face wash off their hands! I had a £5. voucher to use before tomorrow so I bought a face wash, price £6.50 not that I'd ever pay that much. I gave her the voucher & £1.50 but I also had a voucher for 250 points if I bought anything from the No 7 range. Brilliant!0
