    Hi Everyone,

I've had a long day today, and I'm finally relaxing on here! I managed to get my DS to the doctors before he fell asleep, and was told he has a mild chest infection topped with a cold. At least we now know whats up with him.

Have decided to try and get the house sorted out once and for all, as I have all of next week off work. Must also remember to post ebay parcel and sort out money. Still wiating to hear back form my boss, re my bonus not being paid again! Will ring her on Monday. Looking forward to the weekend as it is my 6th year wedding anniversary tomorrow and Mothers day on Sunday.

    Have a good evening all...POwie

Well done FF, bet you feel better now............been busy this morning and had a quick trip to Wilkos, new neighbours moving in, went over and asked them if they would like a cup of tea.......I was fallen on like an angel........so large pot of tea made..... and a few minutes gossip..... have just altered a couple of pairs of net curtains to make a cafe curtain for my sewing room, want to get all the natural light I can, but do not want everyone to see whats on the sewing table just in case anyone fancies it for themselves......LOL.

Fish is on for supper, with mustard mash and peas...........and oranges in jelly to follow.........

So far this week I have managed to get up by 8.30 every morning...... not one breakfast in bed....... might get one on Sunday though, the kitchen staff said they thought it might be possible.......

((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) to anyone who is not feeling well, hope you will feel better soon PP, wondered why you were so late posting.

I am making myself do at least an hour everynight on my Christmas quilt, I made it 2 years ago, and it still has not been quilted, I started to hand quilt it, wish I hadn't but getting on not too bad really might get it finished for Christmas 2006!!!!LOL

    Evening.

Well i'm back after a major shopping spree. I managed to spend nearly £200  but i won't be going to work naked :rotfl: and i put it on DH's credit card so we will get plenty of points from it towards vouchers.

The maternity selection was so disappointing. Is everyone size 8 or something? All clothes were tiny sizes, or too short, and i'm not particularly big at size 14. I was forced to buy from Mothercare because it was the only shop with anything that resembled decent.

i'm now really tired and have had a rude awakening to how hard it is to get around with two small kids. I have asked DH to pick up fish and chips on the way home as i really can't face anything else today.

sorry to hear you aren't well penny pincher.

funky fairy - glad you made your decision and feel happier about it.

best go. DH will hopefully be in soon and i want to be ready to start the weekend.

    Michelle, x

    Good Evening All

Done virtually nothing all do bar cleaning the dining room and dont feel happy about it at all! Hate these days when I have so many plans and fail to do hardly any of it.

Anyway never mind - am using the excuse of having a relapse of my cold and am gonna have an early night so will have lots of energy tomm to catch up (best laid plans and all that!)

Only at home in the morning as doing my mothers day visits tomm as being treated to lunch on sunday curtesy of my DS & DD tho OH is paying! Also out at some friends tom night so shouldnt be moaning.

Oh one good thing achieved - managed to get my mortgage ins for £35 pm instead of £111!! Well worth it.

Will be back on OS with effect from Monday though with renewed vigour as it feels like Spring is at last Sprung (fingers crossed and touching various bits of wood) Must remember clocks go forward Sunday and I dont mind losing the hour as it will be lovely still having daylight at 7pm - get so much more done.

Anyway must go, think will watch Desp Housewifes I recorded from Wed and get my early night in.

Have a good w/e all in case I dont get back on till Mon.

Not a very money saving day here today. We went out to brewers fair for lunch.

But I was a good girl choose the cheapest thing I could eat on the menu and we had a £5 voucher off. But the silly woman did it as a bogof so we got £6.99 off instead of the £5 :j . So that helped paid for one of the drinks.

Afterwards we where stuffed. Went across the road to Morrisons and spent £10 on bits and pieces. Did not realise they had a cafe could have had a cheaper lunch out :rotfl:

Mind you have had no tea as so stuffed. But ate an apple and banana. And just had some ice cream. oops ;)

Looks like we are going to be scraping the barrel next month. So need to tighten the old belts on all fronts. Having a chest freezer means that I spend more and not less :rotfl:

Did get some washing done this afternoon and guess what it rained so never got totally dry  Mind you this was the load my husband was suppose to put out to dry yesterday and then forgot. Left at 9am and got got back at 3pm and it was still in the machine  Not a happy bunny.

All I can hope is that husband gets a better paid job soon and I get one soon. Means we might have a little bit more money.

    Yours

    Calley

  • Bit of a late post but Im so pleased I just had to share it! :D
After reading the "best bargain you got from a charity shop" thread recently, (Im sure I didnt imagine it but am now unable to find it :o ) I realized I had never been in a charity shop.
I felt all hot and bothered, I was so ashamed! Call it a lightbulb moment, but felt I was unable to call myself truly OS until I had been in one. So after a week of lurking suspiciously in the doorways I have succumbed. I left work an hour early, remembered me purse and went in all of them along the high st. (Didnt know there were so many) and also didnt know they were so popular, the busiest shops along that high st this afternoon, I reckon. I was amazed at the amount of per una, gap and next labels I have looked at!
I ended up buying - "The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe" on audiobook, (DD's love audiobooks) three "Judy Moody" books for DD's which look unread (cover price £3.99, paid 80p each) and a next denim skirt for DD1 (looks unworn) Total spent £6.39.
Also bought a mini dustbin for my peelings etc before putting in the composter (99p from 99p shop)
Only problem is a) None of these items were budgeted for, so it looks like Ill have to take it out of my "pocket" money and b) Im now hooked.
Why did no-one tell me about charity shops before? I must have been walking around with my eyes closed. When I think of all the things Ive spent a fortune on which I probably could have saved loads on I feel really mad.
Anyway, this is my only O/s news today, but Im learning so much from this site! (Cant say saving so much at the moment due to unplanned purchases, but it was all in a good cause!)
