It might be worth it in the long run to buy a new car with a warranty. Ask around in the motoring forum for advise.0 -
I have never posted on this thread before, so I hope nobody minds if I join in. Its wet here and its Friday, the day I always blitz the house before it gets messed up again over the weekend. So just having a quick cuppa before I get back to the vacumiing.
Breakfast; Coffee
Lunch; Cheese roll
Dinner; Pasta bake for kids. For OH and me I don't know yet, cos we're going out. :j :j0 -
Well i have done it i had written the letter and posted it through my bosses door. I am sure she will come and see me.
Not turned into a very good day DD's school rang me at 10.30 to say she had been very sick twice.
Will keep you all posted.0 -
Afternoon all :j
Welcome to Izzy.
I'm at work at the mo, although I finish in 2 hours
DH was officially told today that he no longer has a job next Friday  But was asked whether he would consider relocating, I'm no employment expert but to my mind that means he has a choice, take redundancy or relocate? He's been there 8 years - so if he could get a job pronto that could mean we would have a tidy little amount for a rainy day (or the debt collectors :rotfl: ) I suppose it all depends on a) whether he is actually made redundant and b) timing.
B: Cereal
L: Sandwich (Shop Bought  )HM burgers for DD and DH (I'm going out
- it will be free though I'm going to a Murder Mystery Dinner round a friends house
)
(((((hugs))))) to all that need them
Jo xSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Stressedoutmumof1- Sorry here about your hubby. We went through the same thing 2 years ago. DH had been in his job 8 years and was give the same choices as your DH. He took redundancy and we are now offsetting our mortgage with the money.
We were told by agancys that DH would be out of work for at least 6 months because the job he does is so specialized. We were very lucky he was out of work for 3 days.
He has now been with the company for 2 1/2 years and in loving it.
I hope you and your DH have the same luck we did.
Hugs to you.0 -
Hi Yall, cold and wet here today. I woke up at 6am sharp for the second day running, I think it must be the light mornings. I popped mini MATHLETT infront of Fun Song Factory and got onwith my paid2clicks. I've had three accounts mature today so have put in claims totalling £102:j plus I have an unpaid claim from last week for £25 so supermarket shop is covered and then some for next week (YAY)!
I managed to get mini MATHLETT (5yrs) to sleep with his light off for the first time ever. Huge rounds of applause and praise this morning.
On the way to school this morning some ignorent twerp sped past us in his Mondeo and drenched the MATHLETTS and me from head to foot:mad: I bet he doesn't even live in the village but uses the lane as a rat run. I felt like shouting "this is a local lane for local people..." LOL Further along I noticed he had parked half on the only bit of path we have along that stretch of road to use his phone:mad: To extract revenge I instructed the MATHLETTS to 'tickle' his car as we humffed past. Doesn't 4 brollys worth of spokes make a nice noise on metalic paint?:D Do you like the scratching sound it makes? MATH does! hehehehehe that'll learn im!
All then beds are stripped, re-made and the old linen washed and on the airer. Bedrooms dusted and vacced, Bath bleached, mopped and towels changed, Downstairs tieded and vacced, kitchen bleached, DW emptied.
I've also made a HM loaf for the church hot soup morning tomorrow, slammed a chicken and veg curry in the SC for tonight and cooked a beef and noodle bake for tomorrow which is now resting in the freezer.
This afto I've got a bit of ironing to do, gotta nip to the Co-op for a few bits and the local paper, pick up the MATHLETTS from school and do the Friday night kidz club run-a-round (although if I flash puppy dog eyes at Mrs MATH and make nioses about wanting to get me jimjams on she usually agrees to do it) She's good like that:A
TM Sorry you are a bit off colour, lets hope the weekend gives you time to perk up. Your talk of crochet makes me smile cos Mrs MATH took it up once. She started to make a matinee coat for a wee buba which she never finished. I think the original recipient has since taken early retirement.Which is why crochet is a standing joke and chez MATH. I don't know why she didn't keep it up cos it's relaxing, portable and fills the odd quiet moment (bit like Soduko)- nice to see you enjoying it.
Hi Izzy nice to have you join in. Enjoy your well-earned cuppa:D
Have a good day yall

Tried a recipe from Tightwadgazette - breakfast muffins with bacon, egg and cheese in them.
DDs really enjoyed a couple for breakfast!
As I will be away tomorrow with DH collecting DD from Uni - I spent all morning cooking.
Made a dozen apple and cinnamon muffins
Two large bacon and egg flans
DH just had some of yesterdays home made soup for lunch.
Regards to Funky Fairy and do not let them get you down.
If you feel put under pressure - ask about "the health and Safety aspect!" of you working while possibly spreading a highly infectious diease and against explicit doctor's orders!
That should scare them nicely."This site is addictive!"

Welcome Izzy,
God Nicki what your car a Rolls Royce. I would seriously consider getting some quotos from other garages before you go ahead. I had my gearbox changed for less than £400. Dont know whether your in Costco or somebody you know is but there tyres are normally cheaper and theres one in town.
DD is driving me mad today she is so frustrated with not being able to walk yet, shes gone for asleep now so I need to rush round and do the housework before she walks up again. Its so windy and wet here today we cant even go for a walk.
Quick question does anybody know how to clean a floor duster that inpregnated with wax I've thrown away the instructions so I dont know if I can put it in the washer?
Anyway have a good afternoon the rest you.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Afternoon
Sorry havent logged in earlier but have come to the conclusion that Ive had some sort of bug yesterday and today. Was up most of last night (OH stayed with me) with a bad fever and in alot of pain with a really bad head. Have slept most of the morning and it has eased up abit. Still feeling very lightheaded but know theres aload of bugs going around ATM.
Cleaner has been and gone so house all sparkly. 1st washload in WM ATM. DW emptied by OH. Another load of sarnies for DD have been made and frozen for 10 days from a Kingsmill loaf reduced to 15p:D
Dyson have called back and are coming out on Tuesday to hopefully fix it as its still totally dead! Have a couple of calls to make and must dig out DD's birth certificate for secondary school process.
Have quite abit to do over the weekend as im probably being taken into Kings College on monday and want to get some bits organised just in case. DD had her party in 2 weeks tomorrow so need to get her Bratz cake bought. Have most of the other food in, but have a couple of bills to pay as well. Also sort out about 8 ebay items that need sending off tomorrow.
Anyways, best go. Hugs to all.

Hi again
PP - there are certainly a lot of bugs around our neck of the woods, I'm sure some will have taken the overnight sleeper dahn sarf LOL. The fact I've succumbed to something means whatever it is must be a nasty little blighter, because, luckily, I'm one of these people who rarely gets ill and if I do, where everyone has it for days or weeks, 24 hours sees me right
MATH - I did notice you were on at 'unearthly o'clock' this morning - hoping you're not worrying yourself awake. And yes - crochet is very de-stressing. Will be taking it with me tomorrow night when I go baby-sitting. A complimentary bottle of Rose, a dvd and uninterrupted time to get it all wrong and start again :rotfl:
Well, did a major overhaul on me bedroom today - and I haven't cleaned out any wardrobes! Moved all this incredibly heavy furniture (a once a year job), hoovered like there's no tomorrow, attachments and all and wiped everything down (front, back and sides) with a wet microfibre cloth. Thing is, no-one but me knows. Mr TM will probably just see the pile of ironing sitting on the bed and wonder what I've spent my day doing
Ah well, only the rest of the house to do like that nowNow, however, I shall do battle with tuna steaks. Oh god, fights between the kids
Must dash....
