working from home today, so a chance to get a few jobs done. It is also OH's day off, but will he think to put the washing on, mop the kitchen floor, get the iron out, clean the windows or go down to the greengrocers for some fruit & veg? (Do I really need to answer that?) He is in charge of dinner - he just doesn't know it yet
Plans for our trip to Oz are coming along nicely now; according to our budget we have enough in our savings account to go tomorrow, so everything we save from now on will be extra spends while we're there (not going til Nov).
Have a lovely day everyone0 -

We are moving next weekend :j :j :j although it still hasn't sunk in and I just cannot get my head round the fact that I'm finally going to have a garden, getting quite scared now. Will be packing up the computer at the weekend, so wont be around for a week or two until we are settled, I will miss this place loads
Poor little baby is not well, has a horid cold and is teething so has been awake since 4.30 this morning   so I am a little tired to say the least.
Grandad sean is responding to chemo, so we are hoping for the best, unfortunately we are unable to visit him due to colds. So when we are all better we will head up to lincoln to see him. He has alreadt had one infection and it made him very ill, so praying he doesn't get another.
Loads to do today and for once I have some motivation, due to the sun shining.
To do
1 load of washing
the washing up
hovering
tidy and start packing stuff on computer desk
hoover
pack pictures and photos
dusting and If I have time I will do the windows with vinegar of course.
I have a load of stuff to go on ebay but that will have to wait until after the move now.
Ohh and dd 2yo is finally wearing big girls knickers :j :j how great is that, no more wasted pennies on pull ups
Right better get a move on before all this energy disintergrates.
Hugs and love

Kittie update.
I went and stood near the tree calling him until my next door neighbour heard. I then went round, and he was well and truly wedged. Poor thing he must have had an awful night,
My neighbour took pity on us both and went to get a ladder and climbed up to get him. By this time we also had a gaggle of school children watching as well, and i was worried my 70 year old neighbour might fall. After a 10 minute battle, fred was returned to me, very shaky, smelling very piney, and has now wolfed the biggest bowl of food ever. He's very sticky so i will have to brush him, but i will leave him to calm down first. I don't think i will be letting them out again for a bit.
Thanks for your best wishes everyone.
Queenie - can any type of tumble dryer fluff be put out for the birds?or is it like composting where oonly certain types are suitable?
PP - sorry to hear you are feeling rough again.
Have a nice day everyone. Mine just got a lot better :j0 -
Good Morning to all at OS,
Still chilly here unfortunately, looking forward to mild, if wet, weather. I would like to be able to get out in the garden soon as I have not done anything out there yet this year.
Making minestrone soup today to use up the odd bits of veg in the fridge and some of my vast supply of chicken stock.
Thriftlady I have put on half a stone since christmas (starting to think there must be something wrong with the scales) so I am determined to start exercising today. Good luck with the points.
Queenie I like the sound of that meat loaf, I love the pork and apple combination. I make that jelly fluff but we have always called it mousse in our family. My evaporated milk has been in the fridge for days now but unfortunately DS has scoffed half the packet of jelly that I was going to useI'll be seeing if it works with half the packet.
That is a brilliant idea for the doormat cleaning :T
Michelle I hope your little kitty is okay, it is very upsetting when they go up a tree like that, you just can't rest until they are safely bak down. Good Luck.
Aussielass I am a bit out of touch with thngs here but hope everything goes through okay.
PP I hope you feel better as the day goes on.
Hugs and good luck to all in need. Probably all of us0 -
Morning all
Bright and breezy here today - really blew the cobwebs away this morning when I stepped outside the door. Feeling absolutley shattered this week - not sleeping well and I've cut down to 1 cup of tea a day - no coffee and what seems like bucket loads of water......I know I'll feel better for it in a day or two.
I walked for a total of 54 minutes yesterday - at a fairly brisk pace and pushing the double buggy - walked all along the cliffs and back it was lovely - will be even nicer when the weather improves.
No little ones here until school run tonight and I'm off out to the docs in a minute for womanly checkup and blood tests - oh joy! Will get straight back on the bus and come home and not be tempted to walk to town and spend any money.
Brekkie - Toast and cereal all round
Lunch - DD's and DH have HM roll and quiche - I'll have fruit
Dinner - Chicken stir fry and noodles
Must crack on and make my own mothers day cards too, oh and wrap the presents and do some housework and some washing.....it's never ending!

Morning :hello:
Well the good news is that I'm only in the office until lunchtime - I'm off to Cambridge this afternoon to catch up with an old friend and go to an opera (free tickets)
The bad news is I have left my house keys at home  I would have time to go home for them before heading up to Cambridge but housemate's out all day so won't be able to let me in. I'll just have to leave a message on his answering machine asking him to wait up, and I'll have to grovel as I won't be home until about 00:30!!!
Made a chicken pie yesterday using some of the suggestions on the thread I started - and although it turned out quite nicely, I found that using tinned soup as a base for the sauce gave it a real shop-bought/manufactured taste when I'd have preferred it to taste home-made. I think I'll be trying the creme fraiche version next time. Mind you, the Campbell's soup was on BOGOF at the Co-op and the pasta recipe on the back of the tin sounds very nice, so I might try it at the weekend. Quantities sound all wrong though - apparently 6oz of pasta is supposed to serve 4 people :rotfl: The normal portion size assumed on a pasta packet is 3oz PER PERSON, and with my appetite I always find that I need 5oz! My usual four-portion recipes tend to do away with an entire standard-size (500g) bag of pasta...
Hugs to all who need them - Michelle I'm so pleased you got your kitty back safely!

Lucie - :T great news that your well on your way to your goal of Oz
Frey - sending positive vibes for your G/dads chemo. Hope little one is better today. :j Yay for big knickers!! Well done to your dd. Good luck with the move :j you're dd is going to love having a garden!!!
michelle - :T :T:T Thank goodness Fred is safe and sound (your neighbour is a star!) Once he's cleaned up he can be Bed Head Fred for the rest of the day
As for my dryer fluff  it's from drying cottons so that's why I put it out. They'd best make the most of it too; rarely use the dryer anymore, just giving it a clean up, so it won't be a resource they can rely on~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
