Why write to them at all? Just ignore them completely and they will go away with their tails between their legs!

The truth is I enjoy it!

They will still squirm away and this time I feel a greater sense of satisfaction. It's a personal thing; perhaps you will not understand! :D

If you know the law & how the scam works then why not? Lots of fun to be had ;)

Even better is taking a phone call from Roxburgh (or similar) debt collectors & discussing civil/contract law with the poor caller who's knowledge of the subject is nil... it's amazing how flustered they get :)

Still, taffys suggestion is really the correct way to deal with them but it's boring :D

    I take your point.

However I enjoy it. You may enjoy rollercoaster rides or pop tarts. I enjoy this and as someone legally trained I find it really fun. When do they call!? Haven't had the pleasure of a call from the old boy Mikey S yet! Just better not call when I'm busy.

It's not definate that they will call, I've ignored some & never had a call, just the normal paperwork & then nothing :)

Sometimes it's the DCA that calls, sometimes it's the *cough* solicitor & if you're really lucky you get both.

If you do get a call it will just be some office bod with absolutely no idea....... happy days ;)

Slightly off topic, but thanks to the person over on Pepipoo for this story about Graham White.

Also over on Pepipoo, somebody has just posted that they have phoned Mayor of Hackney's office to make an official complaint about Sobell.

He is, but he must be over 70 years of age. Until recently he also worked for Harringay Council, but somebody over on Pepipoo reported a couple of days ago that he has left that job.

Keep binning them, they'll fizzle out soon and you are doing the right thing! :D

Graham White is apparently an elderly solicitor who lends his name to Roxburghe Debt Collectors, who use that letter heading to frighten people. It's just another trading name of Roxburghe and they are only a debt collector so they have no powers (they are not a bailiff and anyway the case won't have gone to Court so nowt will happen).

    Hello!!

    1st time poster here!!

I've just got a Roxburghe letter, exactly the same as everyone else's. The allegation was some sort of trumped-up violation in an APCOA car park. I've fired off a template based letter to them- I know I could ignore it, but I'm actually quite enjoying this. I'm secretly hoping that Sobell will phone me, but as my number is ex-directory, I don't think he will.

I'm tempted to write to the "real" Graham White solicitors an inform them that a scam artist is using a very similar name. Advisable or not??

To be honest APCOA have done themselves no favours- I used to send upwards of £900 a year in their direction for daily parking, their behaviour has just meant that I'm now parking at the council multi-storey up the road, and that's also cheaper. I've converted about 10 other commuters to this too, so APCOA have lost just short of £10,000 annually, all for the sake of a £90 "penalty".

That is just sooooo satisfying!!! :rotfl:
