They sent me 2 pictures (both of which were not my car) as so called evidence.

End of story , really you have nothing to worry about as they are a private parking scammers, really just ignore completely from now on in, they will not take you to court as they would lose!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

My car was actually on the public road. there was a sign advising that a valid 2 hour permit needs to be shown when on the development. my car was in line with the sign ( not actually on the development). "security delusions wilmslow"

i thought private property was their jurisdiction not public, maybe the law as changed? anyhow ignore anything from them,i am on my last five letters from Graham White solicitors ,and in no way worried, all thanks to finding this site, great advice guys.

In the end my dad actually recieved letters first from roxborough and then again from graham white requesting payment and threatening legal action. this was becasue he was registered as the keeper. as you can imagine he was not best pleased so i phoned the solicitor and gave them my details and address and advised them that it was nothing to do with him. they confirmed all futute correspondance would be addressed to me.

I am a bit worried as this means i have now identified myself as the driver, would this affect my chances in either ignoring all future letters or any threatened legal action in court.

Basically have i f****d up by identifying myself as the driver.

any help on this would be appreciated.

    P.S sorry for the essay

Can you ask your dad to look at these responses please, everyone is right when they say you just have to ignore this as it's a scam. It's a shame he was upset by their scam letters and, reading between the lines, I wonder if he still thinks you should have paid, or that he would have paid it! I really sincerely hope not!

This is your chance to tell everyone you know that private parking tickets do NOT have to be taken seriously at all. The only real PCNs and FPNs come from the Local Authority or the Police. By contrast, 'parking charge notices' (deliberately also 'PCN' initials, just to confuse people) are just fake copies dressed up to look legitimate.

Even if you had broken their 'rules' you should still ignore the ticket and all the letters, it's just a standard series of computer-generated threats (and it doesn't matter that you've said you're the driver).

Nothing will happen to your Dad's or your credit rating.

Watchdog covered this last month, and their legal bod helpfully confirmed just what we tell everyone to do with fake parking tickets:

    :T:rotfl:

Do not panic, do not believe the lies on the letters about Court/CCJs/dire consequences!

See examples here in the link below, of what to ignore and be prepared for now, they may send the last letter to you or your Dad, who knows and who cares? Don't bother to actually read their threats, just look to see the Roxburghe/Graham White pattern of letters (shown under UKPC I think) and you can then see which one is the final, final, final attempt! If there is one left to receive please print out a copy, show your Dad and say you can predict that one of you will get that one as well but not to take it seriously:

To be proactive, if the scam letters (or any phone calls, this happens sometimes) get tiresome you may like to also report the company and their debt collectors for harassment:

    http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/en...=03_harassment

But don't forget this is NOT a debt, NOT a fine, just a mickey mouse ticket.

Do not pay, don't fall for this con.

Be angry about their illegal scary letters, tell your Dad and your friends never to pay a private parking ticket, even if they have broken the car park's spurious 'rules'.

    Spread the word.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • thanks guys,

just wanted a bit of reassurance really. I've already explained to my dad about these scams, he was ready to drive down to graham white's and i quote "do some damage". lol, he get's a bit overeacted at times. thinking back i should have just let him go down and sort them out!!

Seriously though I will now definately ignore any further letters i get from these scam artists and tell everyone i know not to pay them.

So far i've not had any phone calls from them but if i do i'm just going to refuse to pay and then refuse to speak to them after this. do you think this is a good strategy to deal with these if they do get in touch?

How long can I expect these letters to continue for?

    Really appreciate your responses!

Problem is he would have to find the right Graham White, the real ones are not the one he wants if you see what I mean.

Show your dad this and I'd really encourage him to go and visit them if he lives nearby. He needs to speak to Michael Sobell, who is in his 70's. His day job is at Hackney Council though, so he might be hard to get hold of: Letterchain
  • As I have posted on a different thread, as a nurse I have about 7 outstanding 'fines' from these ppl for parking at work. All of which culminate in absolutely nothing. Some of these span back to over 2 years ago, so if they were going to take me to court, or even thought they had a case, they would have by now.

The only actual fines you have to pay by law are the council/police issue penalty charge notices. All the independant companies are absolute tosh!!

    I promise!

I am killing two birds with one stone by sending the cc letter in the same envelope with different sticky labels!

This whacky convenient partnership between a supposed debt-collection agency and this sole practitioner passing himself off as a reputable and well known company is beyond a joke.

I really appreciate the comments from other's experiences. This is a great format where people can really feel supported against these intimidating rogues. I can (informally) advise on standard letters if someone does want to write a letter it will be good! I have the prototype now based on spending a good few hours - I am trained at this and I enjoy it - writing letters to these dopes.

Please be in touch if I can help at all. PM ME! :-)

Why write to them at all? Just ignore them completely and they will go away with their tails between their legs!

I have now sent in a complaint to the SRA about Mr Sobell and his firm Graham White Solicitors. Would be a very good idea if as many other people could do the same.

ME TOO :-) Thank you Hayley.
