Used them twice now, cheque usually arrives within 2-3 days
They have a freepost address to send the phones to, however if your phone is worth a bit I would send it recorded delivery as they have a disclaimer somewhere that states that they are not responsible for phones lost in the post. If you send recorded then at least you have a signature for it.0 -
Just checked my Nokia N96 via the phone checker and shows £185.
When going onto the site it quotes £170!!!!0 -
I sent 4 mobile phones off to Fonebank on the 17th July for the value of £103, got an email off them on the 25th July saying that they hadnt received them yet. I sent a reply off saying that they had been signed for on the 20th as they went Special Delivery, got an email back saying I mustnt have put the order number on it as they couldnt find it. Sent another email back saying the order number was clearly marked on the box with a copy of the order confirmation on the inside.
Now have had an email back saying that they have found it but one of the phones is missing from the box. Surprise surprise it the one worth £70.00. I have emailed again but so far had no reply!!!!:mad:0 -

I had a Nokia N95 which was fully working and sent it off to them because they were offering £106.00. Two days later I got a cheque from them for £40.00 which was the non-working price. Rang them up and they said my phone was water damaged. Ok I said no problem just send the phone back to me. They refused saying it was part of their terms and conditions not to send non working phones back. Now I can get a lot more than £40.00 for a non-working N95 on Ebay (even though mine was working). So after a heated discussion shall we say they agreed to give me phone back if I went to their offices to collect it. This I did and their 'offices' are an old storage space under an archway with about 9 guys in there and plastic boxes full of phones all over place. Seemed a bit fly by night. I asked them to show me the water damage and they showed me a slight discolouration in the corner of the screen which could barely be seen! Anyway just be aware when using them that if you send of a working phone and they find a fault (either real or not real) they will not give you the option to have it returned and will just send you a cheque for the non-working price. You will then have a fight on your hands to get it back. Just seems a bit suspicious to me.
One post poster, never been back since May and has really laid the boot in. Is this the post of a competitor I wonder?Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

Absolutely spot on - Sent (Special Delivery) on Wednesday, email confirming receipt on Thursday, cheque landed on the doorstep Friday. Really easy to use, no quibbles encountered, if only all businesses were this efficient - highly recommended!
Point of note, the guy at the Post Office claimed that the Recorded Delivery insurance doesn't include mobile phones, but Special Delivery does. I don't know if he was just trying to sell the higher rate (I suspect they get commission, given how much the P.O. clerks try to sell top-ups and other stuff when you're just there to post a parcel), but at ~£2.50 normal delivery and £58 worth of phone I decided to plump for the Special anyway.
eBay would obviously be a little more lucrative and the "MSE spirit" (I sold my iPhone on eBay for quite a bit more), but it was a refreshing change from the stress and the worrying about possible comeback - worth it for a phone of this approximate value, IMO.
For the sake of non-bias, I won't post a friend code. (And no I don't work for them either)
(Not frowning upon anyone who does - it's a good idea! But I'll forgo the small chance of £3 on this occasion)0 -

Sent three phones yesterday (one quite valuable) via RM Special Delivery. Checked today about noon and each had been accepted, payment apparently is already forthcoming (cheque). I'll update later just to confirm that everything went smoothly.
Fonebank and Mazuma definitely rank as the best two in my opinion, Envirofone haven't yet confirmed receipt but that's another story - perhaps they're busy.
Received the cheque this morning, very quick turnaround - excellent service.0
