wot a service.0 -
Sent my phone a week last Monday (April 27th) and hasn't been received. Would advise against the Freepost option despite other people's experiences, I think someone's taken a look at the size of the envelope and address and nicked it.
I've got a proof of postage, and the phone was only worth £39 (so 100x the price of a first class stamp) but it's hassle I didn't want. Should hopefuly be able to claim from RM.
EDIT: would you believe it, the email arrived 5 minutes after writing this! Will report back when I get the cheque.0 -
Fantastic :j
I sent them my phone (recorded delivery) at about 445 on Friday (before bank holiday Monday), I got an email Tuesday advising they had received it and my cheque - for the full quoted amount - received Wednesday. Brilliant service! :T:T0 -
I had a Nokia N95 which was fully working and sent it off to them because they were offering £106.00. Two days later I got a cheque from them for £40.00 which was the non-working price. Rang them up and they said my phone was water damaged. Ok I said no problem just send the phone back to me. They refused saying it was part of their terms and conditions not to send non working phones back. Now I can get a lot more than £40.00 for a non-working N95 on Ebay (even though mine was working). So after a heated discussion shall we say they agreed to give me phone back if I went to their offices to collect it. This I did and their 'offices' are an old storage space under an archway with about 9 guys in there and plastic boxes full of phones all over place. Seemed a bit fly by night. I asked them to show me the water damage and they showed me a slight discolouration in the corner of the screen which could barely be seen! Anyway just be aware when using them that if you send of a working phone and they find a fault (either real or not real) they will not give you the option to have it returned and will just send you a cheque for the non-working price. You will then have a fight on your hands to get it back. Just seems a bit suspicious to me.0

Completely satisfied -
Used freepost address; receipt confirmed by email within a week; cheque arrived a day or two later.0 -
Whoa, easy there, previous poster! To carrusty...they do say in the terms and conditions that if there is any water damage that it is considered non-working. If you knew of any water damage, you should have taken this into account. It kind of sounds like you were hoping you could pass it off.
My experience was very good. Sent via recorded, received e-mail within a day or so and the cheque within 3 days. Brilliant and very straightforward!0 -
Sent two phones via Freepost address - neither were received. Suppose I should have paid for delivery, but others had no problems so took my chances. Very disappointed.0

Very impressive! Phone was in fairly poor condition (Samsung U600 ) and got a cheque for £25 within 5 days. Also could not fault them0

I sent off my old Nokia 6300 on Thursday and on Friday I received an email letting me know it had been received and the cheque for the full amount is on its way. Now I am just waiting for the cheque for £41. I was especially impressed with fonebanker as I had previously sent this phone off to phonepiggybank.com as a working phone only to be told it was in non-working condition and then offered only £11 for it. I had been using the phone regularly and although old and a bit scratched and battered I did not believe that it was completely non-working so requested it returned. Fonebanker havn't found fault with it, so I guess this is a warning to stay away from phonepiggybank.com aswell as a high recommendation for Fonebanker.0

Got an email today to say the chq was in the post but worried they'll send me a chq for the non-working price - it was fully charged (used in full up until a fortnight ago so I know it's in perfect working order) - has anyone had any probs other than carrusty's story?0
