Thank you for your post about Mobile Phone Xchange
I will AVOID at all costs. I was about to send them an iPhone 3gs and an iPhone 4, both is great condition and working perfectly!
I think you have saved my money and hassle. Im going to go through the hassle of ebay instead. I would have been happier using a service like this instead, even for £20 or 30 less than ebay.
Companies like this put all the others offering the same service in a bad light!0 -

They'll treat 10% of their customers perfectly in order to draw more in and then give out exactly the same excuses to the unlucky ones to lose out on their money.
I'm pretty sure they can be reported to Trading Standards - just contact the highest ranked person you can find an email to, and I think its disgusting that they are charging £10 to get YOUR phone back with a high risk they'll damage it beforehand to "prove" they are right.
I love the comment about "phones magically healing themselves" its funny that isnt it. :rotfl:
I think the same in regards to treating a certain amount of customers perfectly in order to keep a good reputation. Sadly I am one of the unlucky ones and have been given poor prices for my phones because of wear and tear. I have lodged a complaint with mobile phone exchange and I am waiting for a supervisor to call back. I will update when they have been in touch.0 -
asked for free post packaging on the Thursday got that on the Friday. sent away the phone in the free post envelope and the money was in my bank on the Friday morning. very happy.0

I have just had a horrible experience from this company and I feel so angry, I'm making it my mission to stop anyone else using them. I did a search for the best price for my iPhone 3GS 32GB, and found Mobile Phone XChange to be one of the top payers (£113). I have used Envirofone and Mazuma before but they were offering much less this time around, so thought I'd give these guys a try. I checked on their site which just says 'as long as it's in full working order' which it is, it's fine considering it's 2 years old, there's a few minor scratches here and there but it works perfectly well. They sent me the padded envelope quickly which I then paid £5.60 to send the phone back to them via special delivery. Today I received an email from them offering me just £49 as according to them the phone is 'damaged or cracked' and they attached a picture of the corner of my phone where the casing is a little bit wider on the corner and not quite flush with the rest. That's it. For that they wanted to drop from £113 to £49. And by the way I certainly don't remember ever seeing that case issue, so I'm even suspecting that they did this themselves. Think about it, who takes pictures of their own phone from all angles just incase the recycling company say they've found damage on it. This never occurd to me as I didn't think there was any damage.
So I called them and said if that really is their offer price then just send it back and I'll use someone else, so they put me on hold for a few minutes then came back and said 'as a gesture of goodwill we'll offer you £80!' I said how is that goodwill when you originally offered me £113? They said that's their final offer, so I said forget it send it back to me, and that's when they came out with a corker. 'If you want us to send it back we'll charge you £10 admin fee'! ADMIN FEE? For what, putting it into an envelope? So they had me over a barrell, I wasn't prepared to pay an admin fee (which they assured me is on their website which after looking really hard I did find, but it's certainly not easy to find that info at all unless you really are looking for it). I begrudgingly had to accept the £80 offer, or it would've cost me £10, plus another lot of special delivery to send it to another company, it just wasn't worth it. This company should be avoided at all costs, they offer you a good price just to reel you in, then offer a lot less and if you don't like it they'll charge you £10 to get your own property back. It's nothing short of a scam. I'm fuming, I've not felt this angry about dealing with a company for a long long time, and believe me I've dealt with some bad company's. DO NOT DEAL WITH MOBILE PHONE XCHANGE!

Sent away my old Iphone 3Gs on Monday they quoted me £77 but as I knew there was a problem with never expected to get this. On my account it said £17!!!!!!
No way was I accepting that so I phoned them and they upped it to £37 which was slightly better than what mazumba had quoted for a non-working phone big happier but I would say never accept teh first offer.
Will wiat adn see what is put in the bank later today.0 -
Sent my sony erriccson satio to them and was quoted £53. 4 days later I still hadn't received an email but when I logged in i got a message to say the phone was accepted but there was a problem with the phone. The battery cover was damaged or missing they did not specify and my new quote was £20. It does not cost £33 for a battery cover! I Will be ringing them up and will let you all know what the outcome is.
Not impressed!!0 -
Not sure why so many people bother to write their (almost universally bad) experiences on here when they haven't taken any notice of the legions who have gone before in the first place!0

Ok so I received an email yesterday to say that there had been damage to the phone and was given a picture to show. It was a minor chip and still doesn't explain the £33. Rang them up today and no one picked up so left them a strong email and they got back to be within 20mins and offered me £40 or to pay £10 to get the phone back. I settled with £40 but will not be using this service again.
Most companies that buy your phone will have obviously have both negative and positive reviews but I strongly advise against using this company.0 -
I used this service for a phone that was in perfect condition (only 3 months old). Was quoted £92, posted the phone on Friday and have today (Tuesday) been transferred the £92. Also have just over £4 tracked on Quidco. Can't fault the service I received.0
