  • I also have been done by this company. I sent an iPhone off special next day delivery with insurance but have heard nothing and cannot get it touch. I will not let this lie until I have my phone back or the money offered in my bank. Company director is Monoj Kumar Gupta aged 37.
  • Please do not use Mobile Phone Exchange as they are an absolute con they offer you a price but once you send your phone to them they offer alot less saying your screen is cracked when it is not and they say the phone is not in good working order when it is i am hoping they return my phone
  • Consider your advice well heeded!
After going as far as getting a little barcode and "now you can send us your phone!", I have changed my mind and am currently waiting for ASDA to send me an envelope!

  • Mobile Phone Xchange / Vodafone Buyback – Don’t touch with abarge pole (you’ve been warned)!

I can only echo the majority of comments I’ve subsequentlyseen on numerous internet forums. My personal experience of the Mobile PhoneXchange was nothing more than a SCAM. Pleasedo NOT bother with thiscompany!

Initially offered £74for my old Blackberry Bold 9780 and with the company affiliated to Vodafone (mynetwork for 10+ years) I thought that sounded like a reasonable offer. I was gobsmacked when a few days aftersending my phone by special delivery costing me £6+, I received an email from theMobile Phone Xchange with a reduced offer at £17 due to the display window having severe scratching.

I rang to ask for the phone to be sent back and wasimmediately offered £10 extra taking the total to £27 (I suspect they do thisbecause they can see that you have already paid for the delivery). Still £47below the original offer (£53 if you factor in the £6 postage) I asked for thephone to be returned.

My work colleagues looked at the phone when it arrived backand guess what? They all thought exactly the same as me - where was the severescratching?!

Why Vodafone would want to be associated with these guys isbeyond me.

In the end I took it to a local phone exchange shop in townand they valued it there and then - £55 in cash! :)

My advice - just go straight to a local business whichbuys/sells mobile phones and get a face-to face valuation. If everyone did this then we can rid theworld of these internet scammers.
  • I sent my Iphone 4s to mobilephonexchange as they offered the best price of £235.

I received an email several days later to acknowledge receipt of my handset and to inform me that it was faulty and so only worth £50. The phone was in full working order the day I sent it.

The email said I needed to contact them within 3 days if any problems and gave an email link.

I emailed within 12 hours of receiving this saying I was not happy with the revaluation and wanted my phone returning.

A week later I had still heard nothing and £50 had been credited to my account.

I have since emailed back demanding the return of my phone and asking for instructions of how to return their £50.

    Still nothing.

They have until the end of the week to respond and then i contact the police to report the phone stolen.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE. THEY DOWN VALUE YOUR PHONE AND THEN IGNORE ANY FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE YOU SEND THEM TRYING TO GET YOUR PHONE BACK

    Don't use them!

I sent my iphone 3GS off as they'd offered me £50 on the website.

I then had an email off them saying it was now worth £8 as it needed a new front and back and was water damaged. There was no way my phone needed a new front and back as i've had a screen protector and case on it since i've had it. I wasn't water damaged either.

I rang them to ask for me phone back and they offered me £18 for it over the phone.

I had my phone back and got £50 for it through another site.

The only positives i have was that they did return my phone very quickly.

    AVOID THEM!!
  • I put lots of time into researching how best to sell my 'as new' Iphone 4s, which had never been out of a hard case and front & back screen protector but I have had bad experiences with likes of eBay before so thought would give this a go... primarily for ease of sale!
BIG MISTAKE! 2 days after they received phone (by special delivery) my phone still did not show as being received on my account with them, so I gave them a call & they said my phone was water damaged and only worth £39 (they had offered me £199 originally), I said "forget it, send me it back", so the helpful sounding lady said "how about £69?". What a joke! Lets hope I get my phone back in the good nick that it was sent to them!
TOTAL WASTE OF TIME, EFFORT & COST OF POSTAGE!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!!:mad:
  • Do your research first! that's the main lesson here.
Sent my Iphone4s off to Mobile phone Exchange special delivery offering me £195.
Sorry we can only give you £40 WHAT your having a laugh. No there's water damage. Ok an extra £30 for good will. No return it please.
Three phone calls and an email sent to confirm my intentions.
    Do not trust them!
They did return it and I've just sold it to O2 who have confirmed the original price they offered £170.00. Happy days:j

Surely with these bad reviews it should be removed from the http://mobilevaluer.com website?

Im going to guess it probably provides the a quote near the top of the table for most phones.
