Can drive a car
Can read
Can type to a PC
Can use a computer.
I respectfully suggest that there is some work out there for you and that free careers advice would be a great help!

No one has said "stop whinging". From the posts on MSE its clear you can type, read, use a PC and drive a car with help. I can see why a doctor might think you can do something and offer careeers advice.
Pain is not an impairment, it is the result of impairment. My sister has a disability and is also in constant pain. She gets regular medical treatment, takes her prescribed medication and follows the medical advice and she is coping and trying to a live a normal (ish) life.
About 4 years ago, she was very understandbly down and upset with her disability affecting her living.
With help, she changed her attitutude and sought help.
The first step is yours. Get help for your pain and suicidal thoughts and remember whats good about the life you have.
You can read, you can communicate your wants and needs, you can use the internet, you can get about with help, thats a lot more than some people have. Don't dwell on what you don't have, but what you do have and can get.
Start there and move on.

Under the present rules..if he was in pain, he would be right to say no to all the above questions.
If you are in PAIN ....you cannot read ... that would be the correct answer.
The same applys to using the computer under the present rules if you are in PAIN......YOU CANNOT use a computer.
The most i personaly can use a computer time wise is about 15 mins at a time and that is with a lot of pain...some days not at all.
PS...chapter 42 from the ESA decision makers guide.
The test of whether a claimant cannot perform an activity is not whether or not theywhether the claimant can perform the relevant descriptor with reasonable regularity.
are physically incapable of performing it. Matters such as pain, discomfort and
repeatability are taken into account. A claimant is not capable of carrying out an
activity if they can only do so with severe pain or, if having done it once, they are
unable to repeat it for hours or days. The extent of a claimant’s ability to repeat the
activity in a single stretch and of the intervals at which the claimant would be able to
repeat the performance should be identified. A decision can then be made on

You don't need to quote the guide to me.
The point here is that the OP can use the internet, can read, write and use a PC. He can also get about and can drive.
No one here is suggesting that he can go get work as a roofer, I am merely suggesting that instead of concentrating on what he can't do and what he has not got, he looks at what he has got and what he can do.
It sounds like he has a painful physical disability, so he needs to remember to get help for that and not let him effect his mental health.
Its such a simple mind switch but some people find it so hard.

Well i have quoted the guides and the rules and you obviously needed to be reminded of them.
If you score enough points in the descritors the law says you are not fit enough to work whatever your own personal thoughts.
From the OPS origional post,my guess is that he/she has not read the advice guides or/and not seeked proffesional advice before going to the medical...sorry if i am wrong.Child of a Fighting Race.0
