Thanks for this tekie but not many chatting about it as yet. I have a friend who is a bit eccentric and goes for winter weekends at the seaside in mobiles because it is so cheap. He goes at other times too but he never ventures abroad so can tell me nothing about these holidays available for instance in France. We are lined-up for our very first Sun trip with 3 nights in France in late August so what we know is......Eurocamp is the agent handling all European mobile sites. But look at their hard copy brochure and/or online and folks will see they have hardly anything open from mid September onwards on most of the sites they occupy. Can anyone say they have found it different and for sure it's hardly worth bothering unless you want to go to Paris-Disney?

has anyone who has been on one of these holidays before received a priority form this time, I had one last time and was able to get the site I wanted, so far this time I guess it will be pot luck, but I would much rather know where I am going as I think some of the places are pretty naff

Yes you are right. The only French sites that are open after September are the 'Paris ones' and Dunirell in holland. We have been to the French ones the last few Octobers and are going to Dunirell one this year.

No furzballs nothing received this time in the way of a direct mailing. It all seems pretty low key to be honest so what does that tell you? There's not a lot on offer maybe?

Just a thought for anyone interested in the likes of France when/if these holidays appear for next spring. I priced 3 nights at a Loire camp-site in a 2 bed mobile for next May with Eurocamp and it came in at just over £90. That's a great deal in anybodies book from a tour operator. The Sun price we have for exactly the same site for 3 nights before the end of this season was £83. Because this is an end of August 2014 period that price is a massive saving..... but it wouldn't be if it was a next spring period we were going for. The actual tour operators themselves have very good deals early season and you can go get them now. You could wait until The Sun offer the same dates in several months time....January?.........and you might not get them then on their pot luck allocation procedure.

We would like to do a short break and take our son to CBeebies Land at Alton Towers. Can anyone recommend any nice parks not too far away from there.

Usually stick to Haven or Parkdean but am prepared to stay in other places if they are recommended.

    Thanks.
