  • Hi, could anyone help me, I got a bank charge of £30.00, for going over my overdraft facility by £4. This was due to a debit card payment coming in to the bank rather late. The Nat West did waive the fee when I asked them to, this was last January, unfortunatley I went over the limit by £1.20 last month, this was the second time in the 11 yrs I've been with the Nat West, could I get this money back, also I made 2 late payments to two store cards I have, they were days late, only to find I had been charged £20 a time, any hope, any ideas where I could move my £3,000, ovedraft to for less charges. thanks Martina

Hello all. I have a few queries about all this. I have tried to phone Lloyds TSB to request that they send me 6 yrs worth of Bank Statements and they have told me that they would have to dig into their Archived files to find all of them & that would incur more charges for myself as they are so old? is this true? or are they being lazy? or even do they know what is coming?

Another prob is that i now have a Platinum Credit card with them for being such a good customer lol. I have had previous Credit Cards with them but cannot remember what my Account numbers are. I have phoned them up and they have told me that the previous details are over 7 months old so the have been wiped off their systems. Yet again i feel i have been fobbed off. Is there a bog standard letter i can send them requesting all previous details of all accounts i have held with them as their so call customer services fail to help me out again.

This question is about MBNA. Going back to the Bog Standard letter requesting all Details they have on file. MBNA overlooks lots of credit card companies so could i write them a nice letter requesting all deatils they hold on me?

Do i have to pay £10 for each account i request all the history ie Lloyds TSB Bank Accounts & Credit Cards accounts.

    Your help is greatly appreciated

Yes, you can reclaim those charges. No, they're all as bad as one another.

Cheque. I would never advise sending cash.

LTSB: No, it's not true, no, they're not being lazy, they're trying to put you off because yes, they know what's coming.

Platinum card etc: It's called a Subject Access Request, and they, by law, have to provide you with all the data held on you for a maximum fee of £10. They don't like it, tough. Since they have to keep records for at leat 6 yrs, the "wiped off after 7 mths" doesn't wash.

MBNA: Different cards, different accounts, different SARs. £10 each account, sorry. Oh,and "nice" letters don't work!

Click on my sig and register with CAG. We have templates for SAR there.

It's BS, of course. But we do advise everyone to open another bank account first, just in case they do try to trash your credit rating and close your account.

So..assuming they do trash your credit rating, what do you do?

I have another question..I'll be opening another account and as soon as the current bank have refunded the charges I'll be switching.

My question is, who is the least worst bank to switch to?
