You can go back 6 years in England and Wales, 5 in Scotland. Check out the CAG Forums for slightly different wording in your letter in the case of a business account0

hey there,
just to let you know I am banking with HSBC and after the two 14 day time li its otherwise court action begins i have just received a letter about 3 days after the deadline offering me full settlement but without the interest. I dont know whether to accept this. they will pay0 -
Hi there,
Just wanted to ask you a question. I have just received a letter from the HSBC saying that they will refund my charges of £450 but without the interest. they say that the interest is in their conditions and that if i decline their offer then they say that if the claim proceeded to court then they believe they would successfully rersist any legal challenge in relation to these fees.
Its only for £72 extra. is it worth going for as they say the £450 is full and final settlement.
Appreciate any help.0 -
Another question. I've just got my letter together to send tomorrow - but I'm a bit concerned about the wording. I used the letter from the CAG website, but uses language that I wouldn't. Has anyone else felt unsure about sending the letter, or have you just changed the wording ab it?DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0

You'll be okay sending the letter, they will have received hundreds of them all the same0 -
Thanks Edinburghlass, I just feel a bit of a fraud, because it's not how I would correspond. But like you said, I should just forget about it, and send the letter anyway.
I've emailed it to work so that I can print it tomorrow and send via recorded delivery.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -
