hi there,
You'll have to excuse me im all new to this so i have a few questions. The first is what is all this about paying £10 to get all the information on the charges to your bank account and all this about the data comissioners? i got told by my bank that it was only going to cost me £5 to which i sent with the letter but when i recieved these statements back i also had my £5 chq back saying they dont charge for this service.
Im also trying to get my charges back from barclaycard. I have sent the intial letter but the reply i got back said that all statements prior to may 2004 were on microfiche and that to get these statements i have to pay £3 per statement. Can someone tell me if this is right and if it's not what can i do? I only sent £5 ch q and not the £10 so im confused now????? HELP0 -

They can charge you up to £10 for the information, for all the information not per statement. Some people are reporting having the £10, or £5 in your case, cheques returned now.
Have a read of Martin's article here and either sign up for the CAG Forums or check out Penalty Charges, links to both are in Martin's article0 -

You may not get the statements per se when you ask for the data with your (up to) £10 fee. From littlewoods I got about 50 sheets of data that took a lot of wading through to extract the information required. They have to, by law, supply you with the data requested and can, by law, ask for up to £10 to release it.Littlewoods catalogue - won back charges of £300 by default.

Don't forget the 8% interest worked out with the spreadsheet from CAG! BTW how much are you asking them for?Littlewoods catalogue - won back charges of £300 by default.

Please Help -new to the game. I left the RBS 4 years ago after a 6 year relationship with them. (Hamster on the wheel syndrome).
I had 3 accounts (Their recommendation) Business, for which they charged between £75 to £100 Referral Charge per month - never did understand what this was for, a IPCA account - monthly Referral charge of £60 +£15
Maintenance Charge +£5 Royalties Subscription which rose to £20monthly Maintenance Charge, and my House Account also £60 Referral + £15 service charge per month, needless to say I did from time to time exceed my facilities (as a self employed one girl band) for which I was charged £30 per item... Question, as I dumped them 4 years ago can I claim back to two years prior to that? I understand that the County Court allows 8% interest - can I add compound interest - I'm certain they would have. Thirdly, added together the amount I should like recompensed would exceed the amount for the small claims court - so should I submit three seperate claims? Thanks for your thoughts.0 -

It all depends on when the charges were applied to your account. If you enter each charge separately into the spreadsheet that Consumer Corner have, you could be pleasantly surprised at the difference it makes to the final figure.0 -

Hi there,
14 days was yesterday, so its letter before action to be sent asap. No its not 8% of £2345, its 8% of each charge from the day it was charged. Its different. The spreadsheet is on CAG too, but if you need help pm me and I'll try to help you out! That spreadsheet works it all out for you.
Good luck,
