I've re-read the letter I initially sent and this refers to me sending another letter if the payment is not made within the first 14 days!
It allows them another 14 days to respond after which I proceed with the Courts so I guess I'm right in saying I need to send this second letter!!
It is quite clear actually - I was a bit panicky posting on here earlier! I'm using the Consumer Action Group templates as I find the website much clearer and easier to use.
Thanks anyway.0 -
Anyone looking for help should note that Consumer Corner have all the templates/free/advice you could need. The Consumer Action Group is good, but is lacks the personal touch that consumer corner offers.LBM 12.09.12 - £53K in debt.
DFD - 11.07.2019 (OMG).
New DFD is 28.10.2018 due to paying the absolute maximum.
Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.0 -
Hi wonder if anyone can offer me advice? I'm currently claiming back £2600 from BOS and am at the moneyclaim stage. I received an offer today for £1500 so I phoned to refuse and was told that this amount was for 1 account only (I am claiming for 2) and that I was only allowed to claim for 1 account per claim. I haven't heard of this before and am unsure of my next move. Wednesday is the deadline for the bank to enter a defence and they have told me that they now plan to defend this claim. HELP!
Its ok the BOS phoned me and offered full amount. If you always do what you've always done...
you'll always get what you've always gotten0 -

Can you please send me a link to the Templates page for me to have a look?
I get "An error has occurred" every time I try!!0 -

I sent a letter my local branch of HSBC on the 21st Sept requesting re-payment of my charges (£798.00) - by recorded delivery.
To date, I still have not received a reply. What do I do now?! Do I send them a letter or go through the online court process?
From what I've read previously, I was rather hoping that HSBC would reply with offer of payment like they've done for others!!
Just a thought - you never sent the a covering letter which stated they had to respond in 40 days as my daughter made this mistake and only realised when I done mine for 14 days - needless to say she is still waiting and sent her on 13th September - she rang them and they said a complaint had been logged on 28th September but as she had closed her account they couldn't give her any info over the phone and perhaps she would like to come into the branch for a chat - she said no it's ok she'd wait for their letter. Once the 40 days are up she will be taking the court letter road I think0 -
some years ago we had a mortgage with midland and needed more money as we were doing the house up. They refused and charged us £1400 (3 months interest) as we had to go elsewhere. Do you think this is lawful?0

onlygirl that would have been part of your mortgage agreement as fees for getting out of the mortgage early.
You could check out your mortgage agreement from the Midland but usually this is part of your mortgage offer.0 -

Hi it would depend on the mortgage term and offers as well as how long you had been in the mortgage, there is a good chance of claiming some of this fee back0
