  • About 6months ago I read an article on the internet regarding claiming these bank charges, so I approached Abbey National for 6 years worth of statements, I was told it would take up to 6 weeks. 6 weeks passed and nothing from Abbey I then went to the branch in Milton Keynes and after putting my foot down I spoke to the manager about getting our statements, we told him our intentions and were promptly escorted from the premises. to date we only have only recived 1 years worth (after approx 4 months) then listening to the show on radio 2 today it has prompted me to chase them again, what can i do if they will not provide my statements?

  • I use my A&L current account mostly for paying my bills ( direct debits and standing orders) and i put enough in tnis account to cover them all but by mistake i used my debit card instead of my usual bank card so i didn'tnotice that i went overdrawn by £19. they wrote and toldme i was overdrawn and they were charging me £25.. ggrrr!! i am so annoyed with myself.. is it worth protesting or just let them rob me and be more careful in future....
  • hello everyone, im a new member, im trying to get some advice, so can anyone help? abbey have incurred £600 charges on my account, i was paying them £10 a month then they sent a debt recovery agency on to me who hassle me all the time! i wrote to abbey with a letter threatening to take them to court, i got the standard letter back saying its in our terms and conditions (the charges) ive now wrote to the ombudsman who have told me they are very busy and will try and deal with the case when they get time. in the mean time this debt agency are really hassling me. so what do i do? do i pay the debt agency while the ombudsman is looking into things or do i hang fire?
  • hi i'm going through the process of reclaiming my bank charges at the moment. They have paid me back £740 already ( a gesture of good will, they said) but i have refused this and am now ready to complete the court forms. After entering the charges on the interest spreadsheet the total is over £5000 should i just scrap the interest so i can go through small claims court. Help
  • hi i am with abbey too. I have just waited 7 weeks for my statements. They said it was delayed because they had been put onto microfiche. I have now recived them so keep going on at them.
  • can someone please tell me do these charges also relate to business banking? and can i still reclaim charges although i have closed the account?
  • Can anyone say if it is illegal to charge dispreportionate redemption charges on Mortgages? A building society are charging nearly £300 for an administration fee and a full years interest for redeeming our mortgage 3 months early!!!

At what point do I transfer my monies from RBS to the new bank?. Do I wait till I get a satisfactory outcome from RBS?, which could take weeks!.
Can I claim my bank charges after I close the account with RBS?.
